So much for their insistence that they only want the nukes for peaceful purposes. From Iran Focus, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
Tehran, Iran, Mar. 15 – Iran’s radical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the circumstances were ripe for the “collapse of the Zionist regime” and that the West was highlighting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in the world arena in order to “divert attention away from the issue of Palestine”.“The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to create insecurity and confrontation in our region. If one day tranquillity came about, it would mean the death of this regime”, Ahmadinejad said in the northern town of Ramyan during a speech broadcast live on state television.
“Our enemies on the one hand oppose our nation’s acquisition of nuclear energy and on the other hand want to divert the attention of other nations from the key issue of Palestine to give an opportunity to the Zionist regime to prolong its existence”, he said.
Great speech (for a madman) but he forgot the part about unless his plans are stopped he will also cause Iran to become a big sheet of glass. He might want the hidden Imam to return but I doubt he will be around long enough to see it.
So much for the "live and let live" philosophy. Islamic leaders like Ahmadinejad apparently deem this grounds for eternal damnation. We deem these guys zombie-masters.
Ohhhhh geee another radical in charge of a whole country and the moderates wonder why anti-Muslim prejudice increases daily.
To "divert attention away from the issue of Palestine"
What total lies from the madman.
The only reason he is hell bent on confrontation with the west is TO DIVERT ATTENTION AWAY FROM HIS FAILURES, HIS SHORTCOMINGS, HIS BROKEN PROMISES AND LIES TO THE IRANIAN PEOPLE WHO VOTED HIM IN...
To John Bolton
Be sure to bring this up when anybody in the UN security council argues about the evidence about Iran being unclear.
The other option - give them the nukes that they want. Delivery via ICBM's. Once they get a taste of it, the assorted Shia - Farsi, Kurd, Azeri, Baluchi, Arab - might become as nuclear-phobic as the Japanese. Given that Iran is not internationally isolated, State Department rhetoric notwithstanding, it's unfortunate, but that may well be the only option.
The 'beasty boy' from Iran keeps topping himself with even more classic comedy. The Zionist regime he refers to does not look like it will collapse any time soon. Mahdi better get here soon. The Beasty Boy and his minions will need all the help they can get..

Zionist regime to prolong its existence”, he said.
Iranian president madman and his henchmen have this policy to wipe out an entire nation! how can the rest of the civilized world allow this to sprew out their venom! where are the hollywood left, the famous who lable Bush as a terrorist like Harry Belafonte! and they get away from it from the biased liberal media!! l am so sick of the pc crap it will take another Winston Churchill to stop this madness!
Swami were do apply for the job of mahdi? It would pay better than my current job and I think the hours might be better. The muslims don’t seem to be doing to well following other muslims so I’ll step up to the plate. We are going to have pork BBq sandwiches every Friday, pray once a day and all the muslims in the world will have to spend one day a week apologizing to an infidel. It will just be a small way to say we are sorry for the last 1400 years. I’m still working out what kind of work my people can do because most have little or no skills. I’m sure I can work that one out. One program I will start will be mantory history classes for all muslims. We have 1400 years of lies to unlearn. I know it will be a hard job but I’m up to the challenge. I will show my support for women’s rights by making Naseem my second in command, sort of a mahdi in training. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Hajj thing, no more of that, stay home get a real job, walking around a big rock doesn’t help you be a better person. The golden day of islam is almost here.
Ronin:
Good luck trying to teach the 'maw-slums' to do something constructive. There's not much call for street protesters and mad bombers in a civilized society.
Watch your back if you have anything to do with Nauseam…

Perhaps OT, but perhaps not... This post makes me wonder about all those "ant-hate speech" laws which are all the rage across Europe and Canada.
Perhaps it's a great service to hear pigs such as Mr. Ahmadinejad and so many other Muslim co-conspirators speaking brazenly and in the open about their Islamic goals and desires? If so, then perhaps our European friends will reconsider some of those ludicrous free-speech-destroying "anti-hate speech" laws...?
I don't think such laws do anything to suppress the attitudes of fascist Muslims, and they lend Muslims a powerful pretext to claim more victimhood at your hands.... Such laws also encourage them to be far more circumspect around "infidels" and to perfect their well taught Muslim methods of doublespeak and deception...
Such laws also muddy the waters of intellectual discourse, and institutionalize a fascistic anti-intellectual political correctness. Embracing the notion that some thoughts and expressions are beyond discussion also creates a gaping hole for the moral relativists and secular zealots to drive their pet agendas through for silencing opposition home. Why not, after all, do as the Muslims wish, and outlaw plays by Voltaire if the Muslims consider such to be "hateful" of Islam? Why not ban the porcelain pigs if Muslims consider such to be "hateful" of Islam? Why not ban the publication of cartoons about their execrable "prophet" if Muslims consider such to be "hateful" of Islam? Why not ban sites such as this, since many things are revealed here about Muslims and about Islam which Muslims consider to be "hateful" of Islam? Why not ban my oprobrium for traitorous leftists, malignant moral relativists, and dangerous secular zealots if my opinion of them is considered "hateful" towards them? How far will these laws go, in the end? In the end, would we be able to plainly hear maniacs such as Mr. Ahmadinejad? Would such "hate-speech" even be permitted to be published if, say, sufficient numbers of Europeans considered such speech to be "hateful" (which it is) and illegal too? (which it should NOT be...)
In the end, I think our European friends are treading on perilous ice with such laws. What could be better than allowing these Muslims to carry their signs, call for their beheadings, and freely espouse their hatred filled creed? We must be exposed to their poisonous thoughts, and learn about their cancerous intentions if we are ever to destroy their poisonous ideology, and root them from our midst.
But the reasons for arresting them shouldn't be about what they say, or even what they believe. Arresting seditious Muslims should be soley because they strive to place their hatred filled intolerant Muslim laws OVER our constitutional secular pluralistic laws. Their transgression isn't one of speech, or beliefs, but of intent to destroy. As such, actions such as speech or sign waving which engender hatred of this or that group or system must not be made illegal -- but those who wish to supplant and destroy our system of laws and our pluralistic social norms can and should be arrested for their intent. They commit crimes against us whenever and wherever they promulgate their inimical creed, or act to bring about its goals.
Suppression of poisonous creeds such as fascism and Nazism is only effective after you have dealt a stupendous blow to the cause of its adherents. This worked with German Nazis and Imperial Japanese Nazis post WW2 because we HAD THEM ON THEIR KNEES after kicking their asses roundly and mercilessly. But the Muslim of today is unbowed, he perceives himself to be ascendant ( and why shouldn't they with all the ease and success and encouragement they're meeting while colonizing Europe...) His truculence and arrogance attests to this.
So won't you guys reconsider? Let them speak. Let them show us their hatred filled hearts in all their ugliness!
Den_Man all us great world leaders have to have “experts in Islam” to guide us and advise us. If naseem takes the job I’ll keep a close eye on her. You know the old saying “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”
I am out to stop confusion in the world, take this as an example: “The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to create insecurity and confrontation in our region. If one day tranquillity came about, it would mean the death of this regime”, Ahmadinejad.
What Ahmadinejad meant to say was this: “The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to STOP insecurity and confrontation in our region. WHEN one day tranquillity COMES about, it would mean the death of MY regime”.
English is tough on Persians so I helped him clarify a few points. All in a days work for Mahdi Ronin, peace be upon me.
To "divert attention away from the issue of Palestine"? In truth, just the opposite. He is using Palestine to divert attention away from Iran's nuclear ambitions. When his regime falls, Iraq and Iran will join together to form Babylon again.
I wouldn't expect any government to state it but the mosque in Jerusalem has to go. The Palis are big on the right of return. O.K. I'll give them that. Return the stones in the al Aksa mosque to the quarry from which they came.
Springtime for Ahmadinejad
The Israel/Palestinian issues are strictly a local matter in the MidEast and this Ahmadinejad knows that. He should grow a mustache, plaster his hair down on his forehead-and he's all set. Marx was right when he said that histrory repeats itself first as tragedy and then as comedy.
Iran is going to be quite a cauldron when this bunch goes. The regime there is like brittle iron, not flexable like steel, and it will shatter in the manner of the Soviet Union. But they will become more rigid before then.
Here's the US sanctions bill on Iran:

yet France just signed a "peaceful nuclear cooperation agreement" with Libya:

what's up with that?
Yesterday was an ancient Jewish holiday called Purim. Shake the dust off your Bible and take a look at the book of Esther, which contains the story of how King Ahasureus (Xerxes in general history) of Persia nearly allowed his minister, Haman, to exterminate the entire Jewish population of the Persian Empire. Why? Mordechai, a Jewish minister, failed to bow down to Haman.
Could one draw any parallels here? Haman = Ahmadinejad?
Haman's story does not end well. The Jews have at least named a cookie after him. Known as Hamantashen (Haman's pockets) in Yiddish, or oznei haman ( Haman's ears) in Hebrew, the tasty pastry is all that remains of Haman's legacy, except for the interesting historical factoid that Hitler claimed to be his descendent. Can one draw another parallel?
If Ahmadinejad is lucky, he might be left with a cookie; but I wouldn't count on it.

Off topic, but here goes anyway:
Frank reminded me of something when he mentioned iron and steel (Frank at March 15, 2006 05:30 PM). People have previously brought up the many inventions and discoveries Mohammedans have taken as their own without giving due credit. Here's another one, Damascus steel. Called that by the European Crusaders as it was the material of the blades carried by Saracens. Good luck finding an Islamist who will admit that the correct name for the material is "Wootz" steel, as it was actually invented and made in Wootz, India and traded to Uncle Mo's Misguided Children who then banged it into shape and gave it an edge. Give 'em time, someday they'll claim M. Kalashnikov was one of them too.
Ronin...I am a firm believer in Mahdi. If he does not appear supernaturally, someone will be appointed. That someone could be you if you play your cards right. It would be better to not use pork bbq as a campaign promise. You spring that one on them 'after' you get the job.
Naseem might make a good second in charge, if you knew which one of them was going to show up at the office.
Finally, the job of Mahdi requires a lot of commitment. Mahdi must gather a vast army in Afghanistan and ride out to conquor the world in the name of justice and Islam. Now thats a tough job...but maybe you're up to it...contact the Iranian Embassy to see if they are accepting applications...good luck...
“The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to create insecurity and confrontation in our region. If one day tranquillity came about, it would mean the death of this regime”, Ahmadinejad said.
Why, yes. He is so right. The death of Israel will no doubt result in instant World Peace. Clearly, the death of Israel will be a signal to all mujahadin waging countless campaigns against their neighbors around the world to immediately throw down their swords and pick up their plows.
Why didn't I think of that? Oh. But wait a minute. Israel is just the size of New Jersey in the USA. How can Sharia domination be complete with just the death of Israel? World Peace Not.
"Naseem might make a good second in charge, if you knew which one of them was going to show up at the office."

Ronin, if you do get that Mahdi gig and take Nas onto your staff you could always give her/them an ID card with one of those lenticular pictures on it. You know the ones on those old baseball cards that changes the image when you hold them at different angles. One photo for each incarnation. Just turn the card until the picture matches the Nas in front of you.
One of the things about the Iranian nuclear project -- which cannot be intended for the production of electricity as the domestic resource is quite tiny, but rather for weapons -- is that they are, as likely as not, building facilities that cannot withstand earthquakes in a very earthquake-prone part of the world. Like so many Palestinian "martyrs" who die when the bomb-factory they are working in blows up, the Iranians may end up being victims of their own bomb-making activities.
Dr. Strangelove lives... ...in Iran.
