Jihad denies receiving money for waging attacks in Israel

Bridge for sale! A follow-up to this story from Xinhuanet, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

GAZA, March 22 (Xinhua) -- A senior leader of the Islamic Jihad(Holy War) on Wednesday denied reports of his movement receiving 1.8 million U.S. dollars to carry out bombing attacks in Israel.

Zeyad al-Nakhala said in a press release that the alleged reports, which were uttered by Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, were a preliminary move for an expanded offensive against the movement and its leaders before an upcoming Israeli elections scheduled on March 28.

He denied what Mofaz had claimed that the Islamic Jihad had received 1.8 million dollars aid to carry out bombing operations, asserting that his movement does not get orders from anyone and its decisions come from its leaders inside the Palestinian territories.

War is deception.

From later in the article:

Al-Nakhala clarified that the fund is a direct aid from Iran, from which most of the money is transferred through Syria, and then to the Islamic Jihad in the Palestinian territories.

So perhaps the Palestinian Authority and Hamas are out of the loop on this one... but what are we doing about Iran and Syria? After all, Al-Nakhala admitted their role in his own statement.

___

Note: He did not disavow that Islamic Jihad had received the money or what other use it would be applied to.... New party favors: C-4, AK's, etc.

The Texican.
Freedom, the only choice at any cost.

In the spirit of Hugh's suggestion about encouraging a civil war in Iraq, why not do one in the WB and Gaza, between Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Fatah? Just line up the donors accordingly - Saudi Arabia and Qatar for Hamas, Iran and Syria for Islamic Jihad, Egypt and Gulf states (other than KSA and Qatar) for Fatah and then just watch them go at it.

Do correct me if the above configuration of support for the different factions is inaccurate.

... asserting that his movement does not get orders from anyone and its decisions come from its leaders inside the Palestinian territories.

Hamas is one of their "leaders" being their democratically voted party of choice, apart from which Hamas, IJ, PFLP and others have their main men in Damascus.

The last bombing they carried out, for which IJ accepted the responsibility, the actual bomber was an Al Aqsa M.B member and the money from Iran went via Hezbollah through Hamas to IJ minus the charges for the middlemen and the service charge to the bomber's family.
It's "all in the family" and anyone believing otherwise is being duped.
