In a Jihad Watch exclusive, Nidra Poller provides an update on the Ilan Halimi murder case:
Youssouf Fofana has been extradited from the Ivory Coast. His return to France was the opening subject on prime time news. We saw him led to the plane in Abidjan under heavy escort, taken from the plane in Paris under even heavier escort, brought from the airport to Paris in a convey with motorcycle cops and screaming sirens, and delivered to the main courthouse on a cold blustery night. He appeared before the judge, heard charges, more-or-less explained himself and was tightly locked up in a French prison.I don’t agree with Hannah Arendt’s concept of the banality of evil. It’s more like the deflation of evil under pressure of the law. Taking the life of a human being is immense, it’s limitless, it’s the size of divinity and the depth of iniquity. When Fofana was the Barbarian’s Brain, pushing people around, packing a rod, inflicting torture, dehumanizing Ilan Halimi, slitting the throat of all that was left of him after three and a half weeks of torture, he was a big operator. Now he’s a punk. He’s helpless, useless, worthless. But we want justice. We want him to account for his evil deeds and be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Ilan Halimi was lured into the death trap on the 20th of January. He died shortly after he was discovered on the 13th of February in a condition that we wish we could not imagine. The extent and the brutality of the tortures inflicted on him have not been described and will never be fully revealed. One haunting detail torments the mind: not content to blindfold their victim, the Gang of Barbarians covered his eyes with tape, in fact his whole face was wrapped in tape…from the very beginning…from the first days when, in the words of the arch coward Fofana, the kidnapping was undertaken for the purpose of financial gains.
Though there were some attempts by mainstream media to let the story fade out, it kept coming back to assume its rightful place. We are getting an exceptional quantity of investigative reporting. And English-speaking media are slowly awaking to the importance of this case for all it reveals and all that remains hidden in French society.Twenty-one people have already been arrested, nineteen are behind bars, several big goons are still on the run. Police think that an even wider circle of people knew about the hostage and the torture, and kept silent. Some may be charged with "non-assistance to an endangered person."
Youssouf Fofana will be charged with other extortion attempts, going back to 2002, targeting prominent personalities and general practitioners, many of them Jewish. Which raises metaphysical questions about antisemitism. Though one or two of the barbarians accuse fellow gang members of antisemitism, none of them admit to it for themselves, least of all Fofana. He lost miserably on his first line of defense, opposing extradition on that grounds that he was Ivoirian because his parents were born in the Ivory Coast. The court ruled that he is French, and got him out of there as fast as the Airbus could carry him. Now Fofana is camping on a new bargain: he admits he masterminded the abduction but denies he killed the hostage; he admits he specifically chose a Jew, but denies that he was motivated by antisemitism. His choice of a Jew was pragmatic. As he repeatedly explained to the victim’s family and even to his rabbi, if the family doesn’t have money, they can get it at the synagogue.
Some analysts put two and two together, and come up with a clear case of antisemitism. Others subtract two from two and the antisemitism disappears. The guys in the ‘hood, as we will see below, put two and two and two and another two together, and when it adds up to deep seated widespread dangerous antisemitism, they rub out the figures and get aggressively defensive.
You get the impression that for many people antisemitism is not an attitude, a mindset, an emotion, an explosive combination of ideas and passions, it’s a concrete object, a thing at least twice as big as an SUV, and when someone has it you can see it with your own two eyes, and if you don’t see it parked there in front of his nose, he doesn’t have it.
The newspaper of record, Le Monde, had tried to shy away from the murder case but finally decided to swim with the current. Suddenly we get a flood of information, including names of some of the gang members and details about their roles in the hostage operation. To wit: Giri N’Gazi, 19, jailer. Christophe Martin Vallet, 22, works in a school canteen, chauffeured one of the baiting chicks and gave Fofana advanced IT training. Samir Aït Abdelmalek, 27, liaison between jailers and kidnappers, got the keys to the apartment where Ilan was held before being transferred to the boiler room. Gilles Serrurier (“serrurier” is French for locksmith), building custodian, gave the keys to Samir. Jerome Ribeiro, 30, quit the gang at the end of January because things were getting too violent. Jean-Christophe G., 17, one of the most violent torturers. Yahia Touré Kaba, 19, acted as guard for 2 ½ weeks. Another jailer, pizza delivery boy Nabil Moustafa, 18, brought in Cédric Birot Saint-Yves, 28, to help. Fabrice Polygone, 19, vocational school student, jailer for the whole 3 ½ weeks (played hooky?).
This thug admits to a slash, another to a cigarette burn, a third to shaving Ilan’s head, but nothing that measures up to the wounds found on his wretched, wrecked body. Le Monde apparently obtained this information from lawyers involved in the case. Their identities are not officially announced, their faces re not shown. Innocent until proven guilty, until their trial two or three years from now. According to French law they cannot be sentenced en masse for what they did all together. Each individual criminal act must be attributed to its rightful author.
But they’ve already been doused with a splash of victimhood: their families are stigmatized, terrorized, forced to move away or living behind closed shutters, harassed and targeted with “disguised threats.” Norbert Goutmann, who has been defending Fofana since 1999 gave up. Too much pressure…from Jews, one must assume, who don’t understand how a Jewish lawyer can defend a vicious Jew killer.
Maître Goutmann tried to explain, on a Jewish radio station and on national television, that he was only doing his job, that Madame Fofana was terrorized, that it remained to be seen if the accusations made against his client are founded. As it turns out several members of the Barbarians’ gang have Jewish lawyers. Doesn’t that prove they are not antisemitic?
Ever since the November riots, “positive discrimination” has been in the air. So it is no surprise to find Moustapha Kessous reporting from the ‘hood for Le Monde: “Bagneux: “You don’t dare say the word ‘Jew.’” What with the pressure exerted on the lawyers, the families of the Barbarian gang, and their nice neighbors, you understand that the Jews are making it tough for everyone.
Djibril Issaka lives a few doors away from Youssouf Fofana, and works for a cultural association a few steps from where Ilan Halimi was tortured. Djibril and the brothas, who have to put up with stupid stereotypes about Blacks, are insulted by insinuations of wholesale antisemitism in the projects. He actually joined the March in memory of Ilan, but stepped out after 6 minutes when he heard people saying Ilan Halimi was killed because he was Jewish. Too much.
Abou Decore, 24, monitor in a social club, complains that you can’t even pronounce the word “Jew” without being accused of antisemitism. It’s okay to say Muslims are terrorists but you can’t say Jews have money.
A 19 year-old neighbor chimes in: “Jews are always playing victim…. This affair is going to create antisemitism.”
Daoud Ouatara, 23, says the French have a moral debt because they sold out the Jews during the war, but it’s nothing to do with us, we’re sons of immigrants, we’re racaille.
And another brotha adds that the Jews stick together. The least little thing and they’ve got the CRIF, the Licra, they don’t let you get away with anything.
When Bernard Abouaf of Radio Shalom checked out the ‘hood he didn’t get a warm welcome like Moustapha Kessous. One teenager unashamedly admitted that he didn’t know they were torturing a guy, but if he did, he wouldn’t have squealed on the gang, “because they live around here.”
Four Jewish men were attacked in separate incidents in the Sarcelles banlieue this weekend. Nicolas Sarkozy received the victims and their families in his gilded offices. But one local official declared that four individuals were attacked by delinquents; we have not established that this was a case of inter-communitarian violence. Unless you see the double SUV it’s best to be cautious, n’est-ce pas?

The simple act of continuing to tolerate Muslim atrocities against humanity is dangerous. Gradually we become so inured to their barbarity - the masses just begin to sigh and say "another Muslim atrocity..." I didn't know the murder was this heinous. Not until now.
If Muslim the actions of other Muslims is simply reduced to "non-assistance to an endangered person", or if we are relieved only because we sometimes come across Muslims who actually do repudiate the violence or the supremacist goals of Islam, and say 'Phew -- at least that guy isn't a terrorist" then we have already lost the battle.
I am torn between wanting every gruesom detail to be revealed to the world, and knowing that by simply having more and more acts of Muslim barbarity, or ever more heinous Muslim atrocities will, in the end, make us so inured to their ugliness that we no longer turn our heads, or notice out of exhaustion.
I would also add that focusing on the notion that the crime was committed because the victim was a Jew altogether misses the much larger issue for me...
The larger issue is: This crime was largely committed because the perpetrators were inculcated with Hatred as Muslims, and the atrocity was magnified by their inculcated Islamic hatred...
This shouldn't so much be a story about anti-Semitism, as a story about Muslim barbarity and indoctrination of hatred and the soul-less calamity of Islam.
Perhaps because I am not a Jew, the story about Nazism wasn't centrally about their anti-Semitism... It was about the logical conclusions one could draw about their core beliefs, and how those beliefs threatened ALL of humanity, not only the Jews of Europe. The holocaust they perpetrated was an atrocity, and it was also a symptom of their ultimate malignancy. The ultimate malignancy of Nazism is the big story about Nazism, not the Holocaust. The ultimate story about Islam is the malignancy of Islam and the sordid hatred of its creed, not the Jihad against Israel, or acts of heinousness by various individuals.

Do these sort of comments bother anyone else? The Muslim gang of thugs tortured a Jewish man to death, and they use this as an excuse for more violence against Jews (or should I say non-Muslims, since we see the same treatment of schoolgirls in Indonesia for example)? I just see red when I read something like this, and yet you hear the same sort of comments all the time, even by our own media and political leaders, about how we infidels are responsible for the Muslim violence against us.

If the (full gruesome) stories were actually told, I don't think anyone could turn their heads out of exhaustion or boredom. Forget the MSM, they are irrelevant at this point. Think about a explicit movie that acurately told the story of Ilan Halimi, tortured for weeks by dozens of people in a neighborhood that felt empathy for the gang of thugs torturing him. Steven "Munich" Spielberg? Mel "Passion" Gibson? Anyone? How about a historically accurate (based on Qur'an and Surah) portrayal of the life of Muhammad? But the stories are not being told; readers of JW may be getting exhausted of reading stories like this, but readers of MSM will have no inkling, yet.

How dare they try to whitewash this. First by claiming that the religion of the perpetrators and the victim are coincidental, and secondly by not even telling us what happened. The full story should be told in as much detail as possible. It may be difficult for Ilan's family, but we should be trying to avoid the next Ilan from happening. Similarly, the Nicolas Berg beheading video should be played on the nightly news while people are eating supper. It should be replayed in the background of every speech by Bush while he is talking about the "Religion of Peace" and "that Noble Religion". Islam is sicker than we imagine, sicker than we can imagine.
It will come to a boiling point soon in France, and with the increasing news via internet people will not take this crap anymore, and the masses will revolt if the elites do not stop this pc crap real soon.
Hannah Arendt was right about the boring nature of evil people. For example, we don't really have a biography of Hitler, but stories of how he got power.
There is nothing dynamic in Hitler, his personality and soul are petrified, the same for at least the last 35 years of his life. (Even his well recorded "table talk" is the same rant (mostly about Jews) in 1933 or 1945-and it's even the same on the day of his death.) Hitler was a bore.
Compare Hitler to Lincoln-there is constant change in Lincoln's personality, his ideas and opinions over time. Lincoln was no bore. I think this is what Arendt meant by "the banality of evil."
Ilan Halimi was tortured and killed by a boring-demented Youssouf Fofana and fiends. Justice is giving to a person that which they deserve. What did Ilan Halimi do to deserve such punishment from Youssouf Fofana? Now justice must be done.
Why isn't the Jewish press all over this story? This kind of silence is expected of the New York/Jihad Times and all of the other pro Jihadist/liberal press. But you'd think that at least Arutz-7 would have reported it. This is beyond belief! A Jewish teenager is kidnapped, tortured, and murdered, and not a peep from the Israeli press.

As I said above... I don't think this is a "Jewish" story at all.
Although I don't know any details about why or whether this story isn't being reported in the Jewish press, perhaps it's because of the point I made above in this thread. By only treating such abominations as "Jewish" stories, we miss all miss the larger picture.
As long as the "Palestinian' jihad against Israel seemed to be largely limited to an Arab/Israeli affair, the rest of the world could sit and watch. Some wringing of hands, of course, but sit and watch was the order of the day.
Meanwhile, the Great Jihad was continuing apace, right under our noses. The Muslims were learning our technology -- and moving to places like Idaho, and Fresno, and Lackawanna... they were infiltrating our institutions, and whispering sweet nothings into our politicians ears...

jsla: As a Jew reading your post, it is difficult at first to accept your comments, but as you explain yourself, I must admit, I agree with you and essentially always have. For many years the conflict in Israel has not been recognized as the flashpoint of a greater power struggle. The Jews have had, unfortunately, the miserable fate of being caught between such forces on a regular basis during our history.
Despite that history, each assault especially one as barbaric as this focuses Jews who never were or are no longer encumbered by the brainwashing of our secular, cultural relativist, educations on the possibility of disaster happening again. Paranoia is a necessary Jewish defense mechanism.

I'm mindful of Goya's Coloso (Colossus) -- you know the painting? He caught the giant in mid-turn -and the image is often thought to be a metaphor for war, or possibly a representation of the proto-Hitler Napoleon coming into Spain to wage all out war... seen this way, the world can now see the Monster of Islam bounding over their horizon, coming for them... If the monster is only thought to be gorging on far off peoples in far off lands, one may feel great pity, or even rage -- but such is insufficient to rouse most to fight.
I see the painting in another way -- I've always noticed the distinctly spanish aspect of the Colossus -- his rumpled black hair -- the beetle eyebrow - the pointed Spanish beard -- I think this Colossus is actually being roused from slumber by the monster of war -- it is Spain -- roused from sleep to face the conflagration of Napoleon's imminent invasion. The death-penalty is a deterrent. At the very least one can be sure that if a killer like this is executed, he won't be able to do it again.

France is in big trouble.
I have just read a report about the Islamisation in the French schools (official report from the Minister of Education). It is unbelievable. The Muslim kids just refuse to do anything which is not in their religion. The teachers don't know what to do, so they quote the Koran, I mean, they find arguments in the Koran, to try to calm the kids down.
For years, there have been aggressions against the Jews in France. For years, it has been hidden. However, what happened to the young Halimi was so horrible that the Jewish assocations reacted.
But what very few people know is that the French goverment (the police) HAD ASKED HALIMI'S FAMILY NOT TO TALK ABOUT IT. Arguing, as usual, that "it could make things even worse" etc.
However, the scandal burst out.
And guess what happened ? The politicians, the very ones who had tried to hide the murder at first, stole the demonstration (in memory of the victim) from the Jewish assocations.
As a matter of fact, The Jewish associations first wanted to demonstrate in the very city where the tortures had taken place (Bagneux).
They received a note from the Police: "We will not be able to protect you in case things go wrong and anyway, it would be seen as a provocation".
(all the story is told on the French site France Echos, one of the few places in France where information is not censored - although it has been closed several times and is now a foreign web site).
Then the second thing to do was just, for the French government, to steal the demonstration. They organised a big demonstration (they said there would be 100,000 people but there were far less people). In Paris, with ALL the associations, that is to say associations like SOS Racisme, the "LICRA" etc.
Those assocations are direct emanations from the French Socialist Party.
Then we had all the socialist politicians demonstrating at the head of the "cortège" and vastly filmed and interviewed by the journalists. The right wing politicians also demonstrated (Sarkozy and Co) but the journalists of course did not get interested in them.
All those good people demonstrated next to some"anti racist" associations which only defend the Muslims and deny all the crimes and aggressions against white people or Christian people.
It was a scandal and the reason why I chose not to join the demonstration, as it was something like: "let us demonstrate for the Human Rights, the demonstration will be organised by the Red Khmers".
All those socialist politicians were too happy to be filmed demonstrating "against all the racisms" (note that the specific ANTISEMITISM of the horrible crime was evinced). They were all smiling and laughing and there is a terrible picture to prove it (still on the French site "France échos"). They look hilarious. Well, no time for mourning, politics is too much fun, I guess.
To be tortured during 3 weeks by barbarians, but also, to suffer to see all those buffons, who only want to be elected, smiling and laughing in your memory.... that is cruel, yes.
And also, the "far right" politician Philippe de Villiers was expelled from the demonstration. That was the most scandalous part of the whole "mascarade". Philippe de Villiers has never been antisemitic and actually he has excellent relations with the French Jewish community. He was allowed in the demonstration, invited. But during the demonstration, a few guys arrived and expelled him "manu militari". He could not defend himself as he was almost alone. It has been filmed (the video is also on "France Echos"). The guys, one learnt, were guys from "SOS Racisme", the anti racist association which is a creation of the French Socialist Party. A few gorillas from the so called anti racist association.
Philippe de Villiers had no choice but leave, he was insulted, called a "racist", he had no gorilla with him (not his style) and the "gendarmes" kindly accompanied him to the exit.
So SOS Racisme violently expelled a French MP, a guy elected by the French people to be a deputy, and that, despite the fact that the organisers of the demonstration had officially welcomed Philippe de Villiers to demonstrate next to them.
On the evening, one could hear François Hollande (head of the Socialist Party) say on main French TV that "Philippe de Villiers is antisemitic so it is normal that he was expelled".
The Jewish associations immediately wrote to Philippe de Villiers to apologise and express their irritation in front of "SOS Racisme" attitude
Probably the French Socialists wanted people to think Philippe de Villiers is a "racist" like Jean-Marie Le Pen (far right guy, ostracised by the media, but more and more French people support him or rather - can't stand the other ones lol).
Many people have been outraged.
So ok, now, when the Socialists have political enemies, they send some bodyguards of the "anti racist" associations, bodyguards who use violence on them, and later, on television, those Socialist politicians can say that "they are racist anyway so they are not able to demonstrate next to us, the only real anti racist ones, we only are the good ones".
Philippe de Villiers is the only French politician who openly claims he is "against the islamisation of France". He is the only friend of the French Jews, and the new ennemy of the journalists, socialists, communists, islamists and "anti racist" assocations.
After that disgusting demonstration, I have decided to vote for Philippe de Villiers in 2007, not for Sarkozy, and many people have decided the same.
They did not draw any lesson from the 2002 defeat of the Socialist candidate Lionel Jospin (the far right candidate Jean-Marie Le Pen got more votes than the media-praised socialist candidate; but then on the second round, Chirac was elected).
They did not draw any lesson from the "NO" to the European Constitution, which was only and purely a "fuck you all" NO.

TBY: The real enemy is not the Christians. For one, all people that do not abide by the Osama bin Laden, Taliban idea of Islam are NOT TRUE BELIEVERS. While the "brothers" may tolerate other sects, which they rarely do, bin Laden has expressly stated the Allah dislikes factionalism.
Secondly, all English translations of the Koran state explicity Jews are the furthest from belief, liars, Sabbath breakers, and cursed by God (David and Jesus both cursed those who call themselves Jews). Christians, the Koran tells us, are closer to belief and much more worthy of respect.
