"The visit wasn't cancelled because we don't like Condoleezza Rice," said Master, a member of the mosque's governing committee. "What these people had threatened to do was invade the mosque during dawn prayers."
He said the Masjide Al Hidayah mosque's governing committee met Wednesday night with a group of Muslims which included members of the "Stop the War Coalition," which is sharply opposed to the US-led war in Iraq.
He said the group threatened to protest inside the mosque when the two top diplomats were inside.
"It would have compromised the safety of the visiting dignitaries," he said.

I had the same thoughts when I saw the pictures of Jill Carroll in the islamic dress. I wonder if she is going to become another Yvonne Ridley.
Wait a minute. She was scheduled to pay a visit, with Jack Straw, to a mosque in England? Why? On what theory? Is it now the policy of the American government -- Her Majesty's Government can apparently be as ga-ga as it wants -- to pay some kind of state visit to a mosque, in order to do what? To declare England, like America, a "nation of immigrants"? To show that the leaders of the Western world would like nothing better than to pay tribute to Muslims in their midst, who have repeatedly demonstrated such law-abiding affection, made even clearer by their responses to opinion polls, for the govenment and Infidel institutions, and Infidels, of Great Britain.
Something else has been demonstrated. The Foreign Secretary of Great Britain, hosting the Secretary of State of Great Britain's oldest ally, apparently cannot guarantee the security of his guest, or of himself as host, at a mosque in the middle of Great Britain.

What do you think both parts of this episode should be taken to mean? I would expect visiting parts of Iraq to be too dangerous but England? With the combined security details I can’t think of anywhere in the US they could not visit. There are plenty of Mexican workers, thanks to the idiots in Congress, and now that the 11 million or more already here are getting amnesty again, another ten million are on the way. If they're all doing the jobs Americans won't do, why do they congregate at gas stations or shelters all over the country every morning, hoping to be picked up to work for the day? I'm sure they would be glad to inspect the 3,000,000 containers, and since they are so plentiful and eager to work, Homeland Security could assign one illegal immigrant to each container, thus killing two birds with one stone.

I wish that we could give her back. Now more than ever. I'm giving away my hometown, but Jill Caroll's family live here in my area!!! She my PROBLEM!!! It's odd that anti-BNP comments oftenappear in this site from non-Muslims. Odd, because it seems that while all other British political parties are bending over backwards to out-appease one another, the BNP, from what I can see by visiting their web site (I'm not British and not a party member) seem to be the only people who are standing up against the mad mullahs and the PC political establishment. Their policies seem to be in line with what many authors, favourably spoken of by the posters here, are advocating as well, namely, the end of unchecked immigration from Islamic states which aid and abet terrorist (Islamic) activities.
