Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue will organize short courses for imams throughout Saudi Arabia in order to spread a culture of dialogue and forgiveness, sources told Asharq al Awsat.The courses will include lectures by senior ulema in Saudi Arabia, including the Saudi mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz al Sheikh and members of the Senior Ulema Commission, aimed at advising imams to spread a culture of dialogue and accept divergent opinions, while shunning extremism.
This breakthrough step will involve a large numbers of imams and khateebs (those who lead the prayers at mosques) in different regions of the Kingdom.
These sessions are part of a wider campaign by King Abdulaziz Center to spread a culture of dialogue, building on the recommendations of the first national dialogue in 2003, which stressed that Islam is a moderate religion that does not accept extremism and distinguishes between extremist attitudes and religious piousness, in addition to understanding that difference and intellectual diversity and sectarian pluralism are a fact of life and natural occurrences that ought to be exploited/ used to construct a strategy to deal with others using dialogue and advice.
Why do we continue to allow the enriching of these scum ?

This "culture of tolerance" is designed to do three things:
1. Limit the ability and desire of Muslims to declare other Muslims as Infidels, because the most Infidelish of Muslims around are the princes, princelings, and princelettes of the Al-Saud family, and it would be very bad if all this takfir stuff got out of hand.
2. Limit the khutba-rants on television and elsewhere that are so unfairly picked up, and translated, by the shaytanish staff at MEMRI, and even by others.
3. Look like you are doing something. That can then be mentioned in those silly two-page Saudi ads that are always so absurdly worded, and which always have a "methinks-they-doth-protest-too-much" boomgerang effect on the reading public. Among that public, no matter what the raymond-close-james-akins-andrew-kilgore-fred-dutton-retired-diplomat-nowinternational-business-consult-army of apologists says, has had its fill, and more than its fill, of Saudi Arabia.

Islam is the total opposite of the western way of life and no amount of sweet talking is going to change anything they will always have the goal of spreading Islam until it covers the world.

I'd like to see what the Ministry of Islamic Affairs found in its study last year; I'd like to know what they were looking for in the first place; and I'd like to see some concrete proposals. Of course, they have provided none, and simply go on with words about "moderation" and "tolerance". Mohammad also told his followers not to be "extremists." Somehow his category of "not extremist" still included such orders as kill apostates, hypocrites, and critics; conquer the whole world by force if necessary; the booty is halal; true Muslims keep fighting for Allah's Cause until Judgement Day, etc.
A "mission statement". I can't abide those. You can generate them here. When companies say:
what they mean is: we want to stuff the competition and make lots of money. When Muslims bang on about dialogue etc, they mean: we want to stuff the infidels and take over the world.
Did Gladstone make up the first mission statement: "My mission is to pacify Ireland"? So much for mission statements.

Islam will never become a moderate, tolerant religion; and there will be no reformation either.
Such change is impossible for a plethora of reasons, not least of which is the fact that the Qur'an is considered to be the verbatim utterings of no less than Allah himself.

I keep wondering if the Hummer was designed in the Middle East for the lowest fuel efficiency possible. YOu know, use American weakness for BIG and get them to pay for the Islamization of their own countries. It's brilliant!!
