Taheri-azar has lived in our country since he was two years old. Since we can rightfully assume that as a two year old, he did not enter the United States as a full fledged Jihadi, it appears that he received his brainwashing while growing up in an American suberb. This does not give me a warm fuzzy about the Madrassa that is six miles from my home.
Since it is apparent that Taheri-azar wants to die for Allah, we should let him, and protect ourselves from any jailhouse proselytizng from this oh-so-sincere of the Muslim faithful.

I know just what you mean--I'm not very comfortable with the mosque and "school" located about two hundred yards from my house, either.
Throughout the week, there are boys there playing basketball, very late in the evening (usually 'til around 11pm) for a school night.
I Googled them, (the mosque, not the boys) and they're listed, but there's no description of what sort of curriculum they are using for the school.
I don't think it's the sort of mosque where women are welcomed with open arms. Muslim women do live in the neighborhood, but only rarely do I see them in the parking area at the mosque.
It's a busy place, though. On weekends, it rocks around the clock.
I'm sure I'm just paranoid about all that activity.
there is a huge mosque and school recently being built a few miles from my house, and l see both women and children of both sexs in the school yard. l am hoping the government does not give them our tax money to build it, as they are pressing for it. our schools in Ontario are funded for public and Catholic since we became Canada under the BNA act. they are trying to go to the UN route, and the UN as said our money should go to all religious schools.. yeah.. just like they dont peep a word about religious freedoms in arab countries... anyhow so far our BNA act is holding out.l would rather it all go to just public schools if we lose in the end. not a penny to the cult of death "islam"!

In my own neighborhood, the Muslim school has spent a small fotune puting up those huge concrete and steel pylons (sort of like they do at all federal buildings these days) around the entire property... along with a gated front entrance.
Funny, really... I don't recall any mass violence against Muslims here in the US that would cause such an alarm in the Muslim comunities to "inspire" a defensive measure such as this.
So... my question is along these lines...what is it they themselves believe is coming down the pike?
I have always been of two minds about allowing Muslim immigration into the US. I do not think there is any risk of ending up in the situation that the French find themselves in; Muslims probably amount to at most 10% of our immigrants, and the low skilled pool in the US is mostly from Latin America, no one I am particularly worried about from a terrorism or constitutional threat perspective. Muslim immigration does two destructive things. One, it brings terrorism to our shores. Mr. UNC Jihadi is just the latest example of this; we are all too familiar with the problem. Second, it creates a domestic Muslim constituency that politicians have to listen to. So far it is fairly weak. Even CAIR has its problems getting its false message out, but the damage does get done.
Even as blood flows in one direction, ideas flow in the other. In spite of Islamic schools, teaching hateful doctrines, America has an unflagging ability to appeal to anyone. There are surely Muslims who came here with plans not to integrate and make as much money as possible at the expense of us infidels. But integration has a way of happening on its own. I doubt the majority of Muslims in America are particularly religious, and as American values creep in, discovering their religion will more and more result in apostasy on the part of young Muslims, or at least attempts to reconcile Islam with modernity. Whether this is possible or not I do not know. Muslims in America have connections to their families and communities back home. Ideas travel.
We all know in the end Islam either has to undergo radical reform or disappear into the dustbin of history. By hosting a Muslim population in America, I believe we are hastening the inevitable by providing what may be the only place in the world where Muslims can truly think freely. Although there are no doubt pressures to conform in the Muslim community in America, honor killings and the murder of apostates is going to be very hard to sustain, unlike Europe where integration is slow and full of pitfalls. Let's face it, no one in the third world dreams of becoming German or French. They all want to come to America.
As long as we manage to keep the numbers under control, and the profile of Muslim immigrants to the US on the decidedly professional, educated level, we will not end up looking like France. There will never be a Muslim majority anywhere but a few cities. We'll have to take the occasional terror attack on the chin. I can't justify this but it is the reality. The damage being done to Islam by Muslim's presence in America is vastly greater than the damage they can do with terrorism.

Quijybo, thanks for the thought. I myself have noticed that muslims in america are much different than those outside. We did not have a single violent muslim protest concerning the cartoons here, that I am aware of.
But I still cannot help but feel threatened by that shiny new mosque in my neighborhood. And I notice many above threads mentioning new mosques in their neighborhoods as well. Islam is on the offensive, and I have to wonder how long will we wait before we take the proper measures to push it back? Europe is cooked already, possibly. And when I think about what we would have to do as a society to defeat Islam, I shudder, as it goes against every moral fiber in my being. But do it we must, as Islam is the greatest threat that freedom loving people have faced in our history. I am sorry and grieved to say this, but Islam must be destroyed, along with all those that will not abandon it.
Note: I am not a racist - I came to this conclusion only after ten years of studying the palastinian/Isreali conflict, which led me to study Islam, which in turn exposed to me a human rights violating machine unprecidented in world history.
Hans, two things to remember:

RELIGION OF PSYCHOPATHY.
In the 19th century, psychopathy was known as "moral insanity". Psychopaths (now known as sociopaths)were people who while technically "sane" ( did not hear voices and so forth), committed terrible crimes while thinking themselves entirely justified and right to do so.
I hope nobody allows this man to get away with an insanity plea. The fact that he smiled and laughed means nothing. Think of Bonnie and Clyde. It's the same type of behavior, except that he is supported by an entire religio/political network--Islam. Whether he is technically an American or not, he certainly does not see himself as one. His countrymen in Iran commit acts similar to his all the time, sometimes on their own countrymen.
I don't accept what his sister said either. I try to think what I would have said if my brother had been in such a situation. I can't, because there is no such body of hatred behind my brother. The sister's omission, as quoted, of any allusions to religion or nationality are telling. It's as if Islam is a 500 pound gorilla sitting in the living room, that nobody wants to talk about.

Agree. Mohammad Reza Taheri-Azar reminds me of Norman Bates in Hithcock's movie Psycho. I am surprised he did not dress up for the part when he drove the SUV through the pit. This Jihad-Norman Bates should never be allowed out of maximum security. He is a real life Norman Bates.
