The funny thing about this is that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza was supposed to provide an opportunity for the Palestinians to govern themselves, and thus serve as a release from all the resentment reported on in this article. Now there are growing indications it is also becoming a breeding ground for Al-Qaeda.Palestinian security officials claim to have growing evidence that Osama Bin Laden’s terror network, which has hitherto shown little interest in Gaza and the West Bank, is recruiting among the angry young men who see little beyond a future of attacking Israel.
The organisation has been helped by the lawlessness that has engulfed the Palestinian territories since Hamas emerged as the surprise winner of parliamentary elections on January 25 and formed a government.
“There is such despair in Gaza: some are ready to sacrifice anything and this creates fertile soil for growing Al-Qaeda,” said Ashraf Juma, a former Fatah fighter who spent 18 years in Israeli prisons and is now a Palestinian legislator representing Rafah — a city that like nearby Khan Yunis is an ideal recruitment area.
“They support Al-Qaeda because they are angry at the American support for Israel and they see Al-Qaeda hurting the Americans. We have a proverb to describe this: ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend’.”
Of course we here at JW know this already but to the rest of those who slumber maybe this will wake some of them up.
And as al-quada's ranks dwindle they seek any who would heed the call to do they're dirty work.
They like uneducated zombies who know not what they are doing so yes palestine is a good place for them to recruit in, but do not despair as Israel seems to be targeting militants at whim and maybe just maybe they might take them all out.

Too much is made of this Al-Qaeda business. Who cares if they join or do not join Al-Qaeda? They have organizations dedicated to the same Islamic propositions: that all men are not equal, because some are Believers and they must dominate, and others are Infidels and they must be dominated. Hamas, Hezbollah, the redundantly-named Islamic Jihad -- these are, like Laskar Jihad, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and a thousand other groups -- the same thing, the very same thing except that some concentrate on a particular local Jihad, and others are peripatetic, moving now to Afghanistan now to Iraq, helping here to blow up a convoy, and there an Orthodox church, and over there a Hindu temple, and over here, a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires.
What is going on is merely this: a false distinction is being presented to an endlessly gullible (as they see it) outside world, by local Arabs ("Palestinians"), a distinction between "Al Qaeda, which is said to be the enemy of the United States, and those sweet, limited, merely-out-to-destroy-Israel-and-seize-control-of-the-Holy-Land-for-Muslims groups such as Hamas, Hezbhollah, and Islamic Jihad. We are to believe that this Lesser Jihad, this local jihad, is entirely divorced from, has nothing to do with, is not prompted by, the impulse which is to be found in the canonical texts of Islam.
We are to believe not that Israel is merely, during the past century, the most obvious victim of Jihad, that which before the OPEC trillions came along had to be limited in scope, but that its victimhood has nothing to do with Muslim behavior anywhere else, from the attacks on Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, to attacks on Christians in the Moluccas, in Sulawesi, in the southern Philippines, in the Sudan, in Nigeria (the Biafra War), or attacks, for that matter, on Copts in Egypt and Maronites in Lebanon and Assyrians in Iraq. But the attacks by Muslims on non-Muslims everywhere are all connected, all arise from the same texts and attitudes.
The amount of time spent solemnly dissecting the precise differeneces between Al Qaeda and Laskar Jihad, or Laskar Jihad and Gemaa Islamiyya, or Gemaa Islamiyaa and Islamic Jihad, is ridiculous. Whatever differences they may have one with the other, dofferences that may depend on which are Sunni and which Shi'a in origin, or which group is supported by which country (for example the terrorist group As Saiqa was supported by Syria) in return for some support of that country's regime, means little to Infidels because Infidels will always and everywhere be the target, sooner or later, of any such Muslim group.
It is the apologists -- apologists lite such as Robert Malley of the "Intnational Crisis Group" (say, how does Malley get along with those at the ICG who deal with the Sudan? Do they ever discuss Islam while breaking bread? Or doesn't Islam ever come up) and, the far more sinister "consultant" (let's guess the names of his clients, shall we?) Alistair Crook, the big Hamas-booster and MI5 or MI6 or perhaps MI7 (the brand-new agency, specially created for those who have become direct or indirect hirelings of the Arabs).
Al-Qaeda, Al-Shmaeda -- as long as he hates the Infidels.
Al- Qaeda will complicate the situation, but ultimately may help Israel. For Al-Qaeda, it is not about Palestine. It is about the Caliphate. Ideologically, the made up persona of the Palestinian Moslems should collapse, as Al Qaeda gets involved. Al-Qaeda will seek expansion of ummah into infidel sections of Arabia currently occupied by Israel (translation that part of Arabia where Jews happen to live). This should help the world see it is not black against white, rich against poor, exploited against exploiter, imperialist vs. colonialist but rather Islamic fundamentalist or Wahabi Moslem against everyone else. It will be crystal clear to the infidels when the last churches in Bethlehem are burned down, closed or are made into Mosques.

Despite billions in aid, wherever Arabs have set up camp, there is nothing but raw sewage and despair. The Jews have made the desert green, with little or nothing. The Pali's have produced outrageous claims, fanaticism and the ultimate perversion, by constant indoctrination with Islam, Islam & more Islam = Nothing but hatred.
No wonder their whole world is a cesspool.
It is the persistent disinformation by our own media and polit-props that we should have an 'obligation' to help the 'Palestinian people'.

when the Israeli's left the Gaza strip with all the greenhouses..that produced so much vegetables and fruit..now the muslims cannot do nearly as well, are asking for help! it seems all the muslims do is protest, they dont work at honest jobs, but rather protest and kill! to me whether its hammas, pa, or osama bin laden's boys, its all the same human sewage..a terrorist is a terrorist!
