Egyptian police detain 10 after deadly bombings

Update on the Egyptian bombings from Reuters:

DAHAB, Egypt - Egyptian police detained at least 10 people, including computer engineers, on Tuesday in connection with a triple bombing that killed at least 18 people and wounded scores in the Red Sea tourist resort of Dahab.

Security sources provided few details on those detained, but the state MENA news agency said two of them were computer engineers who arrived in Dahab from Cairo the day before the nearly simultaneous blasts on Monday evening.

Foreign holidaymakers described scenes of carnage caused by the bombings near a cafe, a restaurant and a supermarket in the tightly packed streets of the town, popular with scuba divers and backpackers.

Egypt's Interior Ministry confirmed 18 deaths, among them four foreigners -- a Russian, a Swiss man, a German child and a Lebanese national. Earlier, the ministry put the death toll at 23. Lebanese authorities said they knew of no nationals killed.

The bombings, the third similar-style attack in the Sinai peninsula in the past 18 months, threatened to dent Egypt's vital tourist industry, which brings in more than $7 billion a year and employs around 10 percent of the country's workforce...

I'm sure it's a case of "rounding up the usual suspects". Any dissidents or "moderate" Muslims would be picked up for questioning (and maybe later execution), while the real perpetrators, in collaboration with the police and government, walk free.

Honestly, would you take your family to Egypt for a holiday.

I do not want to sound insensitive, but what were the German couple thinking, taking their child to a region (tourist compound) that has already been bombed in the past ?

We need a Jihad Watch Travel guide to help inform people.

Peter...You got that right on. The poster named Report put another site up that shows all the Terrorist attacks from 9-11 to date. The site is
religionofpeace.com What an eyeopener to ALL the attacks from Thailand to Iraq on a daily basis. Amazing wealth of knowledge as is here on JW.

The muslim world shouldn't be surprised. They advocate killing innocents. And if they didn't, they'd put a stop to it.

They should fear tourism losses. These poor people lost their lives.

Peter:

People go to places like Egypt primarily because of the relatively cheap deals offered. And JihadWatch pretty much is a Travel Alert, giving readers the low-down on both dhimmi countries in the EU that are rife for attack from native born jihaddists and the Muslim countries like Pakistan that host "grow operations".

I never knew of those resorts in in the Gulf of Aqaba until these bombings. Apparently they draw tourists from all over the world and are studded with boutiques and internationally-themed eating establishments- one of which is named the "Al Capone Restaurant". Sounds like quite the scene. I keep picturing a lingerie shop called "Najis Things", its windows filled with various photos of a scantily-clad Wafa Bin Laden reclining on ottomans in all sorts of suggestive non-Sharia-compliant poses while fanning herself with date-palm fronds and beckoning with that "come see what's on my side of the bathouse" look.

At times I wonder if these attacks are not part of some twisted and cynical advertising campaign to actually increase tourism from other parts of the Islamic world; planned and excecuted by that shadaowy group- The Uruba Tourist Board.

Does the article mention how many of those arrested were bedouins penetrated by the Mossad?
