EU suspends aid to Palestinians

Anti-dhimmitude from, of all places, the EU. From the BBC, with thanks to Mackie:

The European Commission has temporarily halted direct aid payments to the Palestinian government, which is now led by militant group Hamas.

European Union foreign ministers are due to meet next week to discuss what to do about future aid.

The EU is the largest donor to the Palestinian Authority, which is reliant on foreign aid.

The EU has been threatening to cut off payments unless Hamas renounces violence and recognises Israel.

About time too. In fact until a proper declaration and is made and not some mealy mouthed face saving aside then ALL aid from the west should be suspended. However I suspect our so called betters at EC HQ are already wracked with angst as to how they can get back to paying these corrupt gangsters their guilt money.

They and we need to cut off all aid. Humanitarian , jizya and all. When the poor people don't have anything to eat then maybe they will decide the government they chose is not the one they need.

Food and clean water is so much more important than the hate they have for the world. And if they can't understand that, then they deserve what they get.

Good. It’s way past time, I think.

It’s too bad that the mean ol’ West is ‘punishing the poor Palestinian people’ but …what do you expect? If they truly voted these monsters into office, they deserve it.

Here’s the biggest problem: they do nothing and want the world to take care of them. It’s far beyond the point where they need to be cut off and only dealt with when they do something constructive –instead of tearing down, they should be building up. I remember reading when the Israelis were pulling out of Gaza and the West Bank about some florist or something where they had this really big, expensive nursery that they sunk a lot of money into and wished to give to the Palestinians in order for them to have something to call their own and some sort of legitimate business to run …but instead, when the Pals poured into the area, they destroyed it completely. They would much rather kill and destroy instead of do anything productive for themselves or others.

Stop all aid, squeeze them dry, and let them do something for themselves for a change.

It's time we let the Nation of Islam support itself. It has the means to do it (petrodollars)

Let the modern day Phillistines flourish in the generosity of their Brothers in Saudi, Oman, U.A.E and others. What's the Sultan of Brunei done for the cause of Allah lately? I don't hear enough about his good works. If he can make the Forbes Richest People list, maybe he can pay his poor-due directly to the Phillistine Authority and go straight to the Houris funhouse in the afterlife. Everyone wins. Problem solved.

You see, members of the EU and people of the US aren't forgiven by Allah despite any good works or charity they may do. Allah doesn't listen to infidels and it certainly doesn't forgive them. So why should we bother? We're damned to Hell from the beginning of time. Remember - half of us he created for the Garden and Half he threw to Hell (us). We never had a chance and what we do really doesn't help...

"steal" is missing
John 10:10

"The European Commission has temporarily halted direct aid payments to the Palestinian government, which is now led by militant group Hamas."

I think "temporarily" is the key word here. Let's wait and see how long this last. My guess is that it won't last very long at all.

I think "direct" and "government" are also key words here.
This is not anti-dhimmitude, this is posturing.
The money tsunami doesn't stop, it's merely being rerouted.
As long as Europe believes it can buy influence and protection, the money will keep flowing.

The Palistinians are like the spoiled little kids in the grocery store you see at times which throw (or threaten to throw) a tantrum to get the candy bar or sugar-cerial they want and their parents always simply give it to them because its 'easy'. Sooner or later the brats will have to learn - often after a lot of pain and suffering for *everyone* involved - that they can't get everything they want.

In fact all of Islam is this way. Evidence: the Cartoon terrorism (I refuse to call them protests), the Koran flushing story (I'd like to see NewsWeak try to even 'carry' a bible in Saudi Arabia openly), etc.... The E.U., MSM, Borders Books, etc... all bend over backwards to accomodate and be 'sensitve' to Islam. Unfortunately at some time this brat also will have to learn to live with others the hard way -- and there will be a lot of bloodshed along the way.

"As for me, I pity even his slaves..."

Let Saudi Arabia, now making one billion dollars every day or two, and Kuwait, and the U.A.E., step in. They can afford it. Member countries of the E.U. have all sorts of new expenses -- guarding churches, synagogues, Hindu and Buddhist temples, airports, busses to airports, interurban busses, train stations, trains, government buildings, national monuments, parks, sports events. They have to monitor, at great cost, what goes on in mosques -- or try to. They have to monitor their coasts, to make sure that those who are descendants of the Arab Muslims who used to raid up and down the coasts of Western Europe, kidnapping women as sex slaves and men as regular slaves, and looting whatever they could, and who now come not to raid and depart, but to stay, and to raid from within, in every way they can -- do not land illegally from North Africa.

And then there is the cost of oil itself -- now $68 a barrel, and the amounts pouriing into OPEC, with 10 of its 11 members either Muslim or, as in the case of Nigeria, essentially Muslim-controlled.

Western countries have been paying the very worst sort of Jizyah to the tip of the Jihadist spear, the "Palestinian" shock troops of the Lesser Jihad. That Jihad, directed at the Infidel state of Israel, was for a while the only local manifestation of a general impulse that received any attention. The other local Jihads -- those conducted against Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, or against Christians in Indonesia, received little attention. Nor did the Western world think of these in other than local terms, and never ever related them to a shared ideology, the belief-system of Islam.

And there was something else. Until the last one-third of a century, the Arabs and Muslims lacked the wherewithal, the ability, to conduct world-wide Jihad to spread Islam.

Three things changed that. The most important was the most obvious: the quadrupuling of oil prices, adn the continued ability of OPEC, until recently, to manipulate prices both up and down so as to maximize total revenues of the major producers, and especially to charge oligopolistic rents. This was made easier by the capture, by the Saudis, of the American government's foreign policy and energy establishment, that continued to insist, and even to believe, that our "staunch ally" Saudi Arabia would exercise a "moderating" influence on prices, so there was no urgency -- not politial, not geopolitical, not environmental -- to discussions about energy policy and the need to reduce the use of oil and gas.

The second thing that happened, and at the same time, was the negligent, even criminally negligent, behavior of Western governments in first allowing in large numbers of Arab and Muslim males, and then allowing them to bring what were optimistically called their "families" which often meant a very large number of wives and quasi-wives, and children. In Germany it started with Turks who were thought would come, work, and return home - the Gastarbeiter. It did not happen; they stayed, they were ultimately permitted to bring their families, and more than their families, and today there are more than 3 million Muslims in Germany. In England, it was Pakistanis, who came to work, but when their families were allowed in (and what soft-hearted Western government could resist the idea of allowing the "family" to come, unaware of what that concept meant in Muslim terms, and unwilling to study, very closely, what the belief-system of Islam clearly -- not ambiguously, but clearly -- teaches. In France, single men came from North Africa, and their behavior, regarded as sociopathic but in fact merely that of Muslims on the loose in a society of Infidel victims, was thought would be less menacing if they were allowed to "bring their wives." Giscard d'Estaing fell for this, and the policy of allowing that "wife" (i.e., 1, 2, 3 wives) and "children" (and who in the French immigration services was going to look closely --especially since those services were necessarily staffed by those who could speak Arabic, and therefore, just as necessarily, the very people entrusted with monitoring and checking were often Arab Muslims themselves -- not exacty a prescription for a wary, rigorously monitored program, is it?). Now there are milliions of Muslims all over Europe. The demographic trends are clear. While in Italy and France the Infidel indigenes are not even replacing themselves, the Muslims -- many of whom have managed to take full advantage of everything the welfare states of Western Europe, built and paid for by Infidel taxpayers, provide. In France, where Muslims have rioted, they receive free education, free health care, free or low-cost housing. Any American seeing what benefits are recieved by these Muslim immigrants, who do not exactly appear to be trying very hard either to make a living, or to express any gratitude for the chance to live in such an advanced and civilized society (they are indifferent, or hostile, to much of that civilization -- why should they care what is in the Louvre, or what the symphony orchestras have to offer, or what goes on at the Institut Pasteur, or what non-Muslim histories and literatures are preserved in the
Bibliotheque Nationale?).

The third development is the existence of new technologies, created by Infidels but enthusaistically exploited by Muslims, to disseminate the full message of Islam and of those who embody or promote it. Khomeini finally returned to Tehran on February 1, 1979 (the Shah had left the country on January 19), and he arrived from his years of exile in France -- but before that he had been making audiocassettes in Neauphle-le-chateau, and those audiocassettes were important in whipping up enthusiasm for his return and rule. Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other groups have found videocassettes of their deeds -- suicide bombers preparing for their mission and uttering their usual Islamic mumbo-jumbo, taped bombings -- with martial Muslim theme music playing, as American convoys are attacked, and then the hysterical dragging of American corpses, or the decapitations of Berg and Bigley and other Westerners. These grotesque recruitment videos apparently work, which tells us all we need to know about the mental makeup of many Muslims. And then there are the propagandists of Al-Jazeera, Al-Manar, and other atellite channels. And of course, the Internet. None of these was created by the Muslims, but all of it can be exploited by Muslims eage r to promote Jihad -- that is, the spread of Islam, the removal of all perceived barriers to Islam, and to its dominance, everywhere in the world.

It is of course tempting to believe that "if only" we give and give and give, or "if only" we throw Israel (Kashmir, the Christians of Iraq or Indonesia or the Sudan) to the wolves, things will die down. It won't happen. Muslim psychology is the reverse: it is only when firm and informed opposition appears, that suddenly Muslims will take a different tone -- "at your feet, or at your throat." The smiling, affable, sudden desire to make friends -- see Prof. Afzaal's comments about his own, un-detailed, changes of mind and heart (what changes?) to Robert Spencer, only becazuse it was clear to Afzaal that he was dealing with someone who was dangerously misinformed, and only because he, Afzaal, is desperate either to hide, or to somehow give a different glosss on, his incredible writings and his history of support for and involvement with Tanzeem-e-Islami.

The Europeans cannot afford the Jizyah. Let Arab Musliims, let Hamas, go to the Saudis and the others. That transfer will not be Jizyah, with all that the continued payment of such tribute implies, both for the craven donor, and the demanding donee.

End the Jizah. Nothing will so clear the air, or feel so good, for Infidels, than if their governments stop funding Hams, the "Palestinians," and all the Arab and Muslim governments and groups they have been led to believe that they have some kind of duty to support -- a duty, that is, to pay the Jizyah.

Call it what it is. Tom Tancredo -- start calling it the Jizyah, on the floor of Congress. Get others, in both parties. to do so. Philippe de Villiers -- do the same in France. Fini -- the same in Italy. Ex-Muslims -- sign a joint letter and demand that the non-Muslms of this world stop paying the Jizyah.

Just do it.

Now it's the U.S. turn.

Maybe they can get jobs fininshing the wall...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with most posters that I will believe in the EU stopping payments to the Palestinians when I see it. And perhaps not even then. Pro-Arab governments such as Britain and Sweden might well decide to start replacing EU payments for the usual "humanitarian" reasons.

Freude, schoene Gotterfunken and all the rest! I've held for a long time that the USA should have cut off all aid to the Palestinian authority and UNRRWA ages ago. All the aid seems to have done has been to allow a population to fester rather than getting up and doing something.

H, F & H:

I don't blame you for your scepticism, but it could be that the election of Hamas, and its fairly consistent declaration of its intent to "reclaim every last inch" may be the window of opportunity that the EU were looking for. Not long before Arafish's demise, there were stories about PA reps being turned away by EU types posted in Ramallah, etc. when they came looking for sympathy over IDF retaliations for terror attacks. One was quoted as telling the PA boys to come back when they stop killing babies in carriages.

Then there's probably also the chilling effect of Islamic terror on European soil.

The Europeans may be loathe to call a spade a spade when they have so many of them in their midsts, but I suspect many of them are quaking in their boots at the thought of living their last days under Sharia.

You mean we've been giving them MONEY.

I can't afford to put petrol in my car let alone buy guns for people I've never met.

The price of gas is steep, our Moslem brothers the Saudis & Persians are cheap, Mohammed was a full-bore creep, the Koran ain't all that deep, the Marist Chieftans at the EU are asleep, and sometimes reading JW/DW alarms pig farmers and makes them weep.

Two reasons the arabs with the purloined wealth won't come to the aid of their "palestinian" bretheren:

1) They're cheap, self-serving misers, much like the profiteer mahomet himself

2) They have to keep the "palestinians" hungry and angry for them to continue to be effective shock troops and continue to deflect all domestic anger against those evil JOOOOZE.

Well, it's about time.

George w. Bush and Condi Rice, are you listening???????

Waterdragon52,

I hope you're right. Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my middle age. But it seems to me that the Europeans don't put terrorism against Israel in the same category as terrorism against themselves. I can't provide you with any citations for what I'm about to say, I'm just doing this from memory, but it seems to me that even after the London and Madrid attacks, the Europeans held memorial services for all victims of terrorism, and mentioned every nation except Israel. I may be wrong about this, but wasn't there a situation just recently in which the Archbishop of Canterbury presided over some type of ecumenical service, in which he "inadvertently" forgot to mention Jews? I've just reached the point when thinking about Europeans and their relationship with Israel that I'd rather be pessimistic and pleasantly surprised than optimistic and disappointed.

H, F & H:

For certain, they hate identifying with Jews, either their own Jewish populations or those in Israel, but I think they are starting to realize, underneath it all, that Israel is only the Little Jihad and that in giving succour to the "Palestinians" in the name of redressing the displacement of Arabs that occurred following the founding of Israel is only feeding the crocodile that will ultimately eat them.

No, I think it's possible that the Europeans are recognizing that under the kefiyas, hejabs and other Islamic fashion statements, there beats the heart of a nihilistic threat that is as formidable as any other totalitarian philosophy that would provide them with the egalitarian status of galley slaves.

"The EU has been threatening to cut off payments unless Hamas renounces violence and recognises Israel."

But the problem is that if they did 'renounce violence and recognize Israel' they would be handed huge bouquets of money by enthusiastic foolish politicians who don't understand taqiyya.
