Good God Television, you just presented a graphic depiction of the average muslim male after Friday mosque services, seething in the "low boil state of intolerable frustration", apt to explode at the slightest provocation. The protest promoters, in league with the imam inciters, frequently wait outside for the pious submitters to emerge from the mosque and when they do, an instant riot ensues.

I gather that the "low boil" inevitably graduates to "vents of extreme violence." Is this volatile condition treatable; are there drugs to alleviate the symptoms? Would you care to speculate on the percentage of muslims who are certifiable schizophrenics, and do you believe that there is a direct link between Islam and schizophrenia?

Someone should do a scientific study on the prevalance of certifiable psychosis among muslims. This would be incredibly difficult since psychotics are hardly qualified to diagnose psychosis, thus mental anomalies go largely undetected in the muslim world. I'm sure the data are either nonexistent or scrupulously concealed in Islamic countries, where only Islamic apostates are considered insane.
Given the cultural/religious/political disparities between Islam and the West, muslim psychosis would be considered just another different but equal belief system in our relativist, politically correct world.

Sociologist Amanollah Gharaii Moghaddam told Adnkronos International (AKI) that he believes Iran's deteriorating economy and the high unemployment rate among youths to be the main causes of this worrying phenomenon. In Iran, 28 percent of young people between the ages of 15 and 29 are unemployed.

Restrictions imposed on women in the Islamic Republic is another issue which has contributed to the growth of the phenomenon, according to sociologists, along with drug addiction and domestic violence, forcing many young women to flee their homes.

"The growth of drug addiction contributes to the worrying phenomenon of prostitution," said Amanollah Gharaii Moghaddam.

The age of prostitutes is increasingly younger and girls as young as 12 are selling their bodies on Iran's streets. Overall, the number of prostitutes is also on the rise and there are an estimated 300,000 of them in Tehran alone.

Nevertheless, Gharaii Moghaddam says "the number isn't so high when compared to the four million unemployed only in Tehran and the five million drug addicts today in Iran."

The sociologist however firmly opposes short-term weddings or 'sighe' proposed by some clerics against the rise in prostitution. "Short-term marriages are a form of legalised prostitution," he said. "A state must not and cannot legitimise prostitution."

The solution indicated by Moghaddam is "the creation of a million jobs a year for the unemployed and marginalised that would otherwise end up transforming Tehran into a big brothel."

Another problem is the trade of young Iranians, mostly from poor provinces in the east and south, who end up in brothels in Pakistan and in the United Arab Emirates, the sociologist said.

An estimated 100,000 women have been smuggled out of the country and sold to brothels in the Persian Gulf by criminal rings.

For the same reason the Aussie police didn't arrest them after smashing up 100 cars and bashing unsuspecting, innocent Aussies in the aftermath of the Cronulla riots. The police are running scared, they are shitting themselves and they need backing and support from their superiors and the polit-props in order to do their job. The PC-crap and the civil-'rights' laws that are being twisted and turned against us (and the police) in favor of the Mohammedans sucks. It really does!

Susan, you're right about all those road blocks in the way of diagnosing the psychosis of Islam. It seems to me Islam is a schizophrenia from the top down, on all levels, from the macro level of dividing the world into the two Dars and theologically intensifying the split between this world and the next world (present also in Christianity and Zoroastrianism, but in more moderated and socially mature forms), down to the micro levels of their OCD micro-management of all the details of daily living. The schizophrenia of purity-prurience falls somewhere between the macro and the micro (but of course is also a factor in both). Let's just hope the day comes when our scholars in medicine, psychology, anthropology and history can study Islam as a freakish, dusty relic of the past. For now, I'm just hoping that our scholars will start studying Islam at all -- in actual, scholarly, un-Espositotic, fashion.
