Iran has missiles to carry nuclear warheads

1938 Alert from The Telegraph, with thanks to Interested:

Iran has successfully developed ballistic missiles with the capability to carry nuclear warheads.

Detailed analysis of recent test firings of the Shahab-3 ballistic missile by military experts has concluded that Iran has been able to modify the nose cone to carry a basic nuclear bomb. The discovery will intensify international pressure on Teheran to provide a comprehensive breakdown of its nuclear research programme.

And according to this weekend's Caroline Glick column in the Jerusalem Post, they may very well already have a nuclear warhead.

1 + 2 = 2.

NO! NO! 1 + 1 = 2!!!!!!

In muslamic speak: 1+1=0

Shy Guy:

I haven't yet read Glick's article, so don't know what her sources are. I did read elsewhere that some Israeli sources believe that Iran's nuke project isn't moving along as quickly as believed, but rather that it started much earlier than commonly thought.

No matter what, it's clear they are not pursuing nuclear energy to provide the population with electricity. Iran's domestic resource of fissionable material is quite small -- barely seven years' worth, compared to 250 years worth of petroleum reserves.

The mullahs can't afford to pay Tehran's bus drivers a decent wage, but nuclear warheads, etc., that they can find money for. Ain't it wonderful?

Hmm an iranian missile that works...how??

First of all you can always ask Old buddy old pal Mushraf in Terroristan to provide the sale invoices. It may be a little inconvenient since his front AQ Khan is in "house arrest"(pre paradise virgin supply presumably). But comeon, these are the kind of guys that can perpertrate the most insidious and deceptive of schemes, and then bambi bat their eyes with that "moderate, tolerant, democratic" crap together in a plot so irrationally destitute that it would send the most preposterous of soap serial makers into permanent mental hysteria.
Where do they get their stuff. Simple. Buy it from North Korea. Repaint it. Name the missile after a barbarian who slaughtered infidels and presto! your own infidel destruction delivery system.
(North Koreans supposedly get their stuff from China)

"then bambi bat their eyes..."
-- from a posting by "thehindu" above

At first I thought the phrase might be from Hindi. Then I realized. Wonderful.

And it all is coming together in the ME.

Israel, Israel, what will you do now???

While negotiations or "negotiations" continue with the U.N., with the E.U., with the American government, Iranian weapons scientists, procul that kind of negotiis, work around the clock.

And meanwhile, "success" (meaning what?) and "victory" (meaning what?) will be reached, we are told, in Iraq. Meaning what?

Nostrasamus predicted that the third world war would end in Iran amid great flashes of light. He also predicted that China would invade Europe.

I suppose that means that Iran will be defeated after the place is wrecked...
Wonder if those mullahs ever read Nostradamus?

Now, now.
Lets not jump to any conclusions.
I am sure that those warheads will be used ONLY for peaceful energy/research purposes (Sarcasm off)

Carrying out millitary exercizes in the Straits of Hormuz, with the demonstration of a 250mph torpedo says only thing: "Attack us, and the shipping channel for the majority of world oil will be shut down. A torpedo at 250mph can easily sink any tanker"

The announcement of steps forward in the development of their ballistic missile program says only one thing: "Attack us, and the cities of Europe will be attacked"

They have about 20 days for the initial UN-demand for "be nice - please" expires. At that point there will likely be another round of frantic European uselessness, and then, the announcment from Iran will be "...Since you are preparing to attack us, we are now switching to a nuclear weapons program - you forced us"

For anyone not convinced that Iran is capable of manufacturing a weapon should consider these facts: A long time ago, a country in the middle of a war, with all the economic/industrial problems associated with war, did in fact create a working atomic device in only four years of effort. Only four years - from Idea to Detonation. In those four years everything had to be invented/analyzed/engineered along the way - there was no pre-existing design guides. No testing data to use. To make the situation worse, consider that the technology at the time was pittiful - no computers to run analysis, and industrial tech was pittiful - that country was barely able to WELD metals.

That of course was America, 1945. How long would it take any determined country? Especially when much of the engineering analysis was done 60+ years ago? Especially when much of the required industrial systems are "off the shelf" available? Add in the computational power to run simulations, add-in the significant improvements in effiency/cost of Uranium processing... A nuclear Iran is a reality.

-MikeMontana@HotMail.com

These mullahs must be disarmed by force now!
else...
"be afraid....be very afraid"

I am grateful for the idiocy the Iranian government has shown by crowing about this super missile once the first one is built, instead of waiting until they're ready to be used...

The missile will be dangerous up until the time that every vessel/platform able to launch it is destroyed.

The basic problem here is short sighted politicans and Economics.

China and Russia have large contracts with Iran,
China's trade with Iran is 100 Billion alone.

The Chinese do not care about world stability, as they are concentrating on improving their economy, Russians are more pragmatic, but, economics too plays a large role in deciding what they can and cannot do.

note: Britain recently has signed an agreement to ship low level arms to Iran. (hypocrits)

France used to have a contract (20 Billion) with Iraq until it got invaded as did Germany (40 billion) , which is probably why they did not support the U.S. and Britain on the invasion.

But what is interesting to note is that Iraq managed to deceive the IAEA for many years, with exactly the same type of statement we hear from Iran today.
The Middle east countries are very cunning and know how to manipulate the watchdog agencies, It is only a matter of time before the Iranians will succeed in completing their long term plan of Nuclear power generation and a substantial deterent.

What is laughable, is that again we are in another situation, where there is a crisis,
Our Politicians play games by selling arms to totally unstable regimes, then commence preaching to them to stop warmongering.

Isreal, who is the target, will undoubtedly defend itself if provoked, and quite rightly too, but the irony is, is that they will be forced to take action against a regime who has been armed by their allies.

It is totally and utterly absurd.

As an Engineer, I am aware of what is technologically feasible, in that we should have had a hybrid car 20 years ago, alternatives for plastics or polymer based materials within the same timescale.

The Middle east if anyone hadn't noticed is Hot, and has coastline, Tidal power, Solar Power, Wind Power are well within their capabilites and resources.

They do not need Nuclear power to generate Electricity.

I do have to say, that Britain had the opportunity to build a tidal wave power station on the Humber Estuary,

The Politicians built a Bridge instead..

laughable..

And Hans Blix seems to think Iran is still five years or more from having nukes:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060403/ap_on_re_eu/iran_blix_2

I'm betting against Blix.

The Iranians will one day export nuclear weapons technology to terrorists and we all know who the first targets will be then. Big Satan and Little Satan.

The advice from our wise Congressmen and Senators will be:

"Everyone, quick! Climb under your desks. Duck and cover!"

Foehammer - Re: "Duck and Cover"

With all the other remakes Hollywood is cranking out, can Bert the Turtle be far behind?

http://www.conelrad.com/duckandcover/cover.php?turtle=01

if l were living in Europe l would be looking elsewhere as Iranian's target would easily incude them. Israel is more than ready, but l think too much beaucracy with the EU!

Hmm an iranian missile that works...how??

They may have bought them directly from Bill, Albright, Rumsy, George, Condi, and et al; who in desperation, are trying to buy friends--any friends; no matter how high the price.

It's the "J. Thaddeus Toad" mentality -- and Toad Hall can be bartered away for mere trinkets to a pack of "tough looking weasels" -- in Iran in this case.

In some circles, money is no option; pride is of no concern or material value.

"And meanwhile "success" (meaning what) and "victory" (meaning what) will be reached, we are told, in Iraq" post from above.

Victory in Iraq can be defined as follows:

No Iraqi nuclear scientists working around the clock as they are in Iran.

Insurgents understanding that Alah wants them to blow up Shia mosques rather than targeting the infidel.

Saddam in a jail cell and occasionally a courtroom calling the judge corrupt. That, my friends, is true "containment"

for what it's worth, Amir Taheri's views on building a nuke facility in one of the most active earthquake zones in one of the world's most earthquake-prone regions:

"An official Iranian government report at a 2005 international conference in Kobe, Japan, puts the area where the nuclear plant is located at the center of the country's most active earthquake zone.

Other facts make the safety issue even more pressing.

First, no proper assessment was ever made of the damage done to the half-built plant before building was resumed in the year 2000. Siemens and its partners have refused to hand over the initial plans, so the new contractors, a consortium of Russian firms, have been obliged to proceed mostly by guess work. In June 2000, a number of Iranian nuclear scientists wrote to then-President Muhammad Khatami, expressing concern that a hasty mixture of German and old Soviet designs and building methods might not be a good idea. They received no reply."

EXACTLY! The Iranian regime seems sane to me. We can trust them

NOTE TO SELF: Quit drinking at lunch

Peter: To the best of my knowledge, Iran has been armed most recently (and primarily) by Russia, a nation which insofar as I know NEVER expressed much sympathy or warmth for the Jews or their homeland and was never remotely an ally of theirs.

Folks it looks as though we are at the threshold of World War IV (the Cold War was the third world war according to some experts).

One particularly sticky wicket here is that when the western democracies retalliate against Iran (after the aforementioned Islamist nation launches its unprovoked attacks on the western democracies which I can virtually guarantee is going to happen at no great future date), they are going to find that Russia and China are on the Iranians' (and Islamic countries') side and will (almost certainly) assist Iran in the war against the west. At the very least they are going to protect their investments in Iran which are huge. Don't be surprosed if India gets into the act as well, as India has been planning to build a huge oil pipeline to access Iranian petroleum deposits.

Not only will the western world be forced to bring down Islam, it may soon find itself in a position where it will be forced to bring down the Communist bloc countries down too. The Communist bloc's ties with the Islamist nations' bloc may prove stronger than the Communist bloc's ties with the west (by the way I consider Russia a Communist bloc country even today as I doubt that it has really changed). Notice that over much of the twentieth century the Communists furnished considerable material support for Islamic terrorism against the western democratic nations. I suspect this pattern of support for Islamic terror among the Communist bloc hasn't really stopped--it merely went underground. And that is what we are going to find out from this crisis.

It is more likely that the Communists will step out of the conflict completely, letting Iran and the US fight things out. When the two nations become weak from conflict and military overspending, they will strike. the strike may not be military in nature....perhaps it will be economic.

The Chinese have already laid out plans for such an attack in the book "Unrestricted Warfare",on p. 145 or so:
www.c4i.org/unrestricted.pdf

Why else would the Chinese have saved over half their income last year? and how is it that we can think our piggybanks compare?

Iranian nukes can also be used to deliver food to starving people throughout the world.

The survivors can eat the charred dead animals.

The players are set, the tune has been called and the band is ready to play.

Hell on earth is coming and can not be stopped.

Iran will fall to the nukes of Israel before Iran can obtain working nukes. Once this occurs, Israel nukes all of the military bases in the middle east for self preservation.

Israel is then severely damaged by nukes from Russia and China.

America then trades nukes with Russia and China. The navies of the world are destroyed. mo's set off small nukes across America. America is crippled and tens and tens of millions in America and Russia have been killed and hundreds of millions have been killed in China. After a quick and blood encounter, mo's are no more in America.

American troops in the middle east cannot be airlifted out and fight their way to Israel.

India and Pakistan exchange nukes and armed combat is underway between the mo's and all other's in Asia. India warns China that if invaded by China, India will finish using the few nukes that India has on China.

Cuba's military is destroyed by American armed forces and South and Central American dictatorships are told to remain within their borders or be nuked. The military forces in two South American countries are destroyed to pacify South and Central America.

Mexican troops invade American and join up with illegal aliens in America and try to take back the Southwest. Americans fight off Mexico to retain the Southwest and keep America's oil supply flowing. American armed forces nuke several key cities in Mexico to end any further invasions by Mexico. This will be a bloody and swift encounter with millions dead across America and Mexico. A mass exodus of the few remaining Mexicans into Mexico is allowed.

A crippled America has to rebuild and can no longer sustain a war overseas.

Europe and what is left of the middle east is open to China. Japan and Taiwan fall to China.

China invades across Russia toward Europe with its remaining armies. (Russia didn't nuke China and pays for the mistake.)

Europe and China exchange nukes. Russia is no more and the Chinese armies in Russia are destroyed as is Europe and the remaining cities in China. The mo’s revolt in Europe and civil war ensues completing the utter destruction of Europe.

The last chinese armed forces marches toward Israel to destroy the last Israeli stronghold and seize control of the middle east oil and the remaining manufacturing areas. The few remaining American troops and the Israeli citizens prepare for a final battle with chinese and muslim armies.

The last American nuke sub wipes out the chinese and muslim armies just outside of Israel. (The American military battle plan for all out nuclear war, End Days, includes having at least one nuclear armed submarine remaining to finish the last strongholds of the enemy.)

Current dead: 1 to 2 billion.

Dying and injured: 2 to 4 billion

Tribulation starts.

Prepare, be armed be ready.

From headline:

"The discovery will intensify international pressure on Teheran to provide a comprehensive breakdown of it's nuclear research program"

Ahmadinejad is one very determined and defiant terrorist who couldn't care less about 'international pressure'. He has already stated his intentions concerning Israel and the U.S., and it's only a matter of time before he carries out these threats.

'Intensifying the Pressure' isn't going to slow this tenacious madman down. He needs to be stopped, and he needs to be stopped now. I'm shocked at how longsuffering and lenient we've been with him, and Israel too. How many more warnings is it going to take before Ahmad gets the upperhand? How many more "30 day" extentions is the UN going to give him? What other discoveries have to be made before something is actually done?

That is a very viable scenario. It describes the book of Ezekiel. Yes?

Interesting, if very depressing article on nuclear weapons and islam

The savages can't handle the resposibility of having nukes, it's like giving a 2 year old a razor blade.

Denver-

I think you mean "it's like giving a 2 year old a running chain saw, a jug of nitroglycerine and a flame-thrower".

Mahmoud and the mad mullahs need to be deposed and hanged by the youth of Iran before said youth of Iran, and many others in their immediate families, are left as nothing but Muslo-smudges streaked on the flattened outskirts of the former-Tehran.
