Moussaoui craves martyrdom

That is, Islamic martyrdom, which involves killing and being killed in the service of Allah (cf. Qur'an 9:111). The-Americans-Love-Pepsi-Cola-We-Love-Death Alert from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

ZACARIAS Moussaoui, who has pleaded guilty to conspiracy in the September11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States, craves martyrdom and would be disappointed not to be sentenced to death, said a British imam acquainted with him.

In court in Alexandria, Virginia, US, however, Moussaoui has expressed a belief that US president George Bush will release him from prison....

“It is my personal belief that the reason he is doing this is that he wants that martyr status,” Abdul Haq Baker, chairperson of the Brixton mosque in south London, said yesterday.

“If he receives the death penalty, he believes in the eyes of the Muslim community he will be seen as a martyr,” Baker said in an interview with BBC radio.

“If that is discredited in any way by questions of his sanity, then he will just be locked up in prison for a long time, and that will not give him any credibility at all.”...

“He wanted a sense of belonging, and there was frustration at what was being seen as atrocities being committed in the Muslim world,” Baker said.

“He was actively seeking a reason for jihad.

“We had conversations about that.

“He asked me ‘Where is the next jihad?’ and do I know where jihad is, and I said ‘No, I don’t.’

“He got very frustrated, because he believed I was withholding information from him.

“He was actively seeking a battlefield.”

So again we have a British imam, knowing that one of his flock was seeking jihad - and he did nothing, and reported it to no one.

what brave men these jihadists are! they attacked civilians without weapons, and they think they will go to some heaven! me thinks he burns in hell!

The problem with giving this sack of poo the death penality is that the death penalty in federal cases is done by lethal injection, like McVeigh got. That is painless.

It would be better for him to be killed in jail in a more brutal fashion. But of course, he would not be put in with the general population, just to protect him. But there could always be an accident. Like the accident that killed Dahlmer. Im sure would be no shortage of Americans who would love to get this guy in prison.

As well, if the state kills him, he is a martyr. But if a bunch of convicts kill him, he dies the death of a common criminal.

I say no death penalty. Put him in prison and let the mob have their day.

Posted by: thethinker

Probably wouldn't happen (sadly), he would be put in isolation and treated like a celebrity. It would only be a matter of time before one of the "TV News" magazines would interview him.

I say give him credibilty. I would prefer to see him achieve that credibility at the end of a rope, or in the loving embrace of "Old Sparky".

Since neither will happen give him the juice and send him to hell. Lets not keep Mohamed (Pork Be Upon Him) waiting.

I agree, Mr. Ape Pig. I don’t want him to live a long life in prison and suffer.

This monster's actions call for nothing less than death and I, for one, don't wish to either support his criminal butt for the rest of his miserable life, nor even give the remote possibility to the chance that his filth may infect others behind bars where Islam can thrive among the more hostile elements of modern society. Plain and simple: if an animal turns, you put it down.

And don't worry about his martyrdom ...we need to convey the message to the rest of the world that we're dead serious about crimes committed against our populace, we'll fully prosecute violators of our laws, and make certain that this animal dies on OUR terms, not HIS.

In fact, I’m becoming more and more inclined these days to deliver to certain hot spots and unstable areas around the world the death that the radicalized Muslims desire by way of a few well-placed bombs...

-would prefer to see him achieve that credibility at the end of a rope, or in the loving embrace of "Old Sparky". -

Yes, but that won't happen. Federal executions are done the nice, humane way now, by lethal injection. That is why the only chance at a brutal death is at the hands of other inmates. The chance that there would be an "accident" is small, but it is greater than the chance that he will see the rope or the chair - which is nil.

I wonder how much it would cost to bribe a guard to smear a little bacon grease on Moussaoui's hand, after he's strapped to the table...

We have to remember if he does get the death penalty, he'll still spend twenty years waiting.

He should spend twenty years eating pork chops, ribs and have his toilet facing mecca. And no koran. That's what got him in this mess in the first place.

"We have to remember if he does get the death penalty, he'll still spend twenty years waiting."

McVeigh didn't wait that long. It took longer than I would have liked. (In cases like this I am a believer in "You shall be taken from this place to another place...")

Mr. Ape Pig, I totally agree. I believe they should give him one week to get affairs and goodbyes in order and then hang him. But, I'm afraid this guy will just have endless appeals.

give him an injection, or hang him, electricfy him, what ever way, just send his ashes back to France..oops they made a mistake with his remains.. sorry..

But, I'm afraid this guy will just have endless appeals.

You are probably right.
One the bright side it makes a good case for Gitmo and military tribunals

They love to talk themselves up. They're always brave martyrs no matter what. Yeah, right! Put the scum to death.

...he believes in the eyes of the Muslim community he will be seen as a martyr

Who cares?! In the eyes of the non-Muslim community, he will be seen as a common scummy criminal getting his just desserts. Once he's gone, he's gone. Just another pathetic, brainwashed nobody, forgotten. Keep him around and we'll keep hearing about and from him. Appeals, lawyers, lawsuits, groupies, blah blah blah.

I am one of those odd people who opposes the death penalty. I have lots of reasons for this which I wont articulate here, as the 'death penalty' is not the topic.
However I have no problem with justice, nor do I have sympathy for Zack and his ilk.
He will not be killed in prison because he will never be in the general population. He will get private incarceration or P.I.-up, as the inmates call it.
It would be better that he be sentenced to a prison hog farm where he could labor forever in behalf of pigs. However American liberals would never allow that. Cruel and unusual...so I guess P.I.up is the best we can hope for. I would opt for P.I +...solitary confinement. Forced idelness is one of the most difficult of penalties, and it's relatively cheap. All you need is a strong room, a slot in the door to pass bread and water through, and a bucket for natural needs. Allah, bread and water to eat, and a bucket to eliminate in...Oh what a joy...are we having fun yet?

duh_swami, all are excellent ideas but you would have to add a gag order. The last thing we need is him preaching to guards or other cons. He should never hear another voice nor anyone hear his.

I agree with you Thinker. I made this statement before on another posting, to give Moussaoui the death sentence would be playing into the hands of the enemy. His iman confrimed this. Abdul Haq Baker stated,

"It is my personal belief that the reason he is doing this is that he wants martyr statis.

If he receives the death penalty, he believes in the eyes of the Muslim community he will be seen as a martyr."

Now as bad as we want this Islamofeces to take the "last walk" it's better to let him live out the rest of his life a failure in prision. The long term effect of putting him to death would be disasterous. Take the Stanley Williams excution, for example. Stanley Williams recieved more media attention than his victims, that he slew in a cowardly fashion. Williams had celebs, ultra-liberals, civil rights charlatans, and foreign governments pleading his case with Gov. Arnold for a stay of excution. Stanley Williams even got a spread for his funeral in Jet magazine! Do "We the People" want another seen played out in the same way, in the same manner for Zacarias Moussaoui? Moussaoui would become the poster boy for the liberal establishment against the United States and the death penalty.
Look at how his defense team tried to paint him (Moussaoui) as a "troubled child" coming up under an abusive father. I still think that Hollyweird is going to make a movie out of Moussaoui's childhood. Scripting, of course from liberal sources, how he, a "kind soul" was driven to do what he did that fateful day by the "evil" Bush Administration! And the sadness that he felt when he couldn't make it to support his fellow "freedom fighters" in the totally justifiable defensive assault on the innocents at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. How he could join in with the "only family he knew" the heroic jihad against unarmed and unaware people at work. His passion and dedication to his fellow "freedom fighters." Of course, who better to direct this movie than Oliver Stone!
And lets not forget how the Muslims, moderate and radical, will look at this. This is a propaganda weapon that is ripe to exploit. And don't think that the imans, ayatollahs, the maullahs, and Osama bin Laden won't use Moussaoui's death sentence. "We the People" can not afford to give the enemy a loaded weapon like a Moussoui death sentence. Moussaoui would become what he wants to become, a martyr. The Islamic religious leaders would have a field day recruiting new jihadists and homicide bombers to carry on jihad in the name of Moussaoui the Martyr. Osama bin Laden would have another vehicle in his persoal war with the Bush Administration. Lets not forget the democrats in the House and the Senate.
As bad as "We the People" want to see Moussaoui take the "last walk," "We the People" must excercise restraint in this case. Moussaoui must get life in prision. He must live out the rest of his days behind bars so that he may meet Allah in total failure. "We the People" must deny Moussaoui his 76 virgins in Islamic heaven. Moussaoui must be deny the thing that he treasures the most, to become a symbol of martyrdom for future jihadists. Of course, he must be isolated from the general population. There are others that share his point of view as far as this "Great Land" of ours is concerned. A hatred for the United States nurtured by the liberals in the mainstream media and on collage campuses across the "fruited plain."
Muossaoui must by allowed to live in prison. And to die in prison. "We the People" must pay for his room, three hots, and a cot, for the greater good. It's easier to keep him alive than to fight his memory. His legacy.

Ronin...A gag order would be ok at first, but after a month, (I say a month because I think any strength he has is shallow amd hollow to begin with), or so of a bread and water diet, and nothing to do but stare at the wall, he will lose his faith in Allah. He will also get too weak to talk much...The idea is to get him in a weakened condition but keep him alive.
One of the reasons I oppose the death penalty is because you cant get justice out of a dead guy and no one has ever successfully punished a corpse...if you want justice , you have to keep the offender alive. And he must be reminded daily just 'why' Allah abandoned him and he is in this fix. Eventually he will die old, broken, and lonely ...a fit ending for a murderous man . Sometimes staying alive is worse than dying...

duh_swami, I agree. He needs to live and not get the title of martyr. Sometimes we have to do unpleasent things just to show the world we really do have a higher standard.

Looks to me like a bit of reverse psychology. Tell us he will be martyred if execured, get him locked up, wait a couple of years and get him released as a political prisoner. If he is executed he is a martyr, if he is put in prison he has played us infidels, either way these freaks will think they have won. Let's face it they use their twisted logic to justify everything they do. Who cares if he is seen as a martyr? He is an active terrorist. People like him will still murder in the name of mohammed whether they think someone else is a martyr or not.

I'm with you, duh_swami.

Along with objecting to the death penalty on religious grounds, I think nothing would be more frustrating and anticlimactic for Moussaoui than life in a "supermax" prison.

He's 38. Assuming a normal life expectancy, that gives him at least 40 years to ponder the fact that he utterly failed in his efforts, no one cares (give it a couple years and a gag order), and now he's dependent on the will of his buddy Allah to put him out of his misery through natural death, while he rots away in jail. No martyrdom, no glory.

I'm sure his cell will be in a long line of cells and each cell will probably not have a muslim in it. The other guys will taunt, scream, curse and totally make fun of him for years to come.

He will break. He will miss the strip joints, bars, sex, and most of all .....FREEDOM. He will wind up regretting his faith. Don't know how long it will take...but he'll realize allah ain't worth it.

I am in favour of mixing the remains with those of a pig, then putting them into a pig-shaped rocket, then firing them into space to float about for all eternity.

The Space Pig. The only effective deterrent. \o/

Life in prison would be fine if it actually existed, But it doesn't, no place has it. Nobody dies in prison of old age. How many times have we heard of vicious murders who were sentanced to life in prison only to get out a few years later and go right back to their old tricks. Moussaoui would be no different, and next time, he might get it right. He needs to die NOW. Where's Jack Ruby when we need him?

I'm against capital punishment in this case.

Zacharias craves martyrdom? Let's give it to him. Put him in a glass cage with two potbelly pigs, fresh copies of the Koran, Hadiths (Bukhari), Sirat, and Tabari, with a water bowl and a dog bowl.

Take him on a national tour to party mtgs both of the Democrats and the RINO parties, and let's get some clarity.

APF, he'd be screaming like a little girl with those pigs!!!!

Or should I say squealing?

Whether you're in favor of the death penalty or not, it sets a dangerous precedent to start basing criminal sentences on what the convict may want or how it may be seen by other countries or our enemies. The US criminal justice system does not answer to the criminals or terrorists.

Kill him or keep him alive. Either way, base the punishment on what he deserves, not on doing the opposite of what we think he wants. Additionally, to hell with the fringies, Hollywood, the UN, and Amnesty International. We didn't vote for them, they don't fight for us, and we don't owe them anything.

The sentence itself almost doesn't matter at this point. Half the people are not going to like it, whatever it is. He's not going anywhere, and the time he spent learning to fly was wasted as his wings are now clipped.

The sentence is unimportant, who determines it is.

Should say:

"The sentence is not important, who determines it is."

That's true Dave Mate; But "We the People" can't err on the side of the death penalty in this case. Moussaoui can't, must not get what he desires most. And the United States must not become the vehicle of his death. It pains me to say, but Moussaoui must live until he dies in prison.
I really believe this. I'm not for the death penalty nor am I against the death penalty. I'm for justice! If death is a fitting punishment, then let justice be served. Justice in the Moussaoui case should be life imprisonment, with no hope for parole, no hope for human contact other than the bare nesessaties, no media hype, no movie deal, no Oliver Stone to direct the movie, no protests to "spare his life" by liberals, Hollyweird crackpots, civil rights phonies, and foreign governments, no candlelite vigils, no political fodder for the democratic presidential hopefuls, no hope for continuing jihad, no hope for 76 virgins, no hope for dying for Allah as a martyr, no propaganda weapon for the mullahs, imans, aytollahs, and Osama bin Laden. He'll report to his idol god Allah a failure after dying an uneventful, natural death. A fate worst than death to a jihadist seeking martyrdom.
True justice!

Alarmed Pig Farmer has the right idea.
You are a madman Compadre. Totally sick. Glad you're on our side.

How about sentencing him to death and then simply forgetting him in his cell?

I just hope the jurors, the judge, lawyers and the media stop and realize it's the koran that promotes his actions. His lawyers say he's crazy, schizto (same as Mubarrak says about the muslims attacking Christians) and he's not. He's perfectly sane, following his orders from the koran and imams.

Muslims tend to think their "law" follows them where ever they go. Jihad to go. The people in the courtroom need to understand, the koran says muslims have the right to kill us. The media needs to emphasize this. It's in the koran.

Let him live with a hog for a couple months.

Let him rot in solitary confinement for the rest of his life. And feed him plenty of pork.

If it's found that the death penalty should be used, avoiding it to deny Moussaoui martyrdom status would give validity to his beliefs.

Not true Gus;

It keeps the Muslim extremists from using his death sentence as a recruiting tool against us. And it keeps the leftists from using Moussaoui, as well, as a rallying point against the death penalty and the United States. Go back to Stanley Williams. Do you want to see that farce played out again by the liberals in the mainstream media? Not me. The mainstream media would just paint him as an "innocent victim" driven by the oppressive American need and greed for oil to exploit the Middle East and to steal their oil. A victim of the "evil" Bush Administration!
Just read or reread my post above. The last thing we need is for Moussaoui to be made a hero.

Who thinks that not executing this rat is going to change the minds of anyone or make them like the US any more or hate the country any less? Every time a friggin' mohammedan stubs his toe, he's a "martyr".

We've got to get away from the idea that this conflict with islam is a popularity contest. They hate us. Period.

Who cares if Jihad Joe sees this qur'anian sack of filth as a "martyr"? Quite frankly, the opinions of the Mustaphas, Achmeds, Naseems, and Mohideens are irrelevant. They hate us regardless of what we do to the ones we capture and prosecute.

Let the Feds stick a needle in him.

The judgement that awaits him is far more than we could hope to provide, and I argue that prisontime is easier than gravetime.

Send him on his way.

Ironman Hondo,

I believe I fully understand what you're trying to say. However, I don't believe the media attention given to Moussaoui is going to be conditional.
Just as unconditional, who's to say that his continued imprisonment wont be used to fuel a future hijacking or kidnapping/ransom?
Besides, if he gets life in prison, he'll be a story 20 years from now. That's much more attention than he deserves.

I still say, if convicted on terrorism, there will be no koran in prison. The koran is to terrorists what kiddie porn is to pedophiles. It's what got them there in the first place.

Islam is not a religion. It is a cult. Why do we let them perpetuate their jihad in prison?

No korans anywhere, and if the wardens of these prison systems would pick one up and read it, they would come to the same conclusion.

I don't understand why our lawmakers and authorities are not seeing this. If the Southern Baptists were out burning buildings, raping, shooting, killing after Sunday morning church services and preachers were spewing hatred, would they still stand by and let it continue?

1) Multiple life sentences so he can't get out on parole.
2) Solitary confinement - absolutely no contact with the outside world.
3) No windows in the cell and lights on the entire time so he doesn't know day from night and gets no indication of prayer time.
4) Pork and beans for every meal. (may need to install a ventilator in the cell)
5) Leave him rot.
6) Forget about him.
7) Feed his carcass to the hogs when it finally assumes room temperature.

Just my personal thoughts.

I disagree with Ironman Hondo's stance that Moussaoui's execution would give Islamic terrorists another rallying point. They don't need another excuse. They have been hopped up against the West for centuries; they are hopped up against the U.S. because we not only have a Bill of Rights, but we actually dare advocate similar things in Muslim lands; they are hopped up even more by U.S. military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. So what happens to Moussaoui is minor compared to all that.

Secondly, while it's fun to fantasize about how awful we can make life imprisonment for Moussaoui, let's face it--that's not how it will be. Thanks to civil libertarians and well-meaning activists, his life imprisonment will include: taxpayer-provided medical care; three square meals a day, prepared in accordance with Halal; taxpayer-provided copies of the Quran, the Hadith, and (probably) books by Sayyid Qutb and writings by Osama; visits by imams who share his views; and interviews with the world news media who will be only too glad to print anything he spouts. Anything else would start howls from civil libertarians worldwide that he is being given "cruel and unusual punishment." In short, Moussaoui will become just like Mumia--he is going to be painted as a political prisoner by the time he reaches old age.

This is a dress rehearsal for when (not if) Osama is captured. Do we want Osama to become like Mumia or the Birdman of Alcatraz, a celebrity to the world? Even worse, do we want Osama's friends to stage terrorist attacks and take hostages to trade their lives for his freedom?

There really is only one solution: Execute them. Kill them all. AND THEN, make it clear to the world that in our philosophy, Moussaoui and Osama aren't in Paradise frolicking with virgins. They're in hell where they learned for the first time why they're there.

how about having him work on a prison pig farm? He has to clean the pig shiite out of the pens.

start a live web cam site for the True Believers out there.

Paint his whole cell with all the Mo cartoons...
Then send Bubba in so Zachy can squeal like the sow he is.

Do y'all remember the scene in Airplane when the women loses it on the plane and the other passengers stand in line to whap her?

We could set Moussaui down and get in line to whap him before he goes to the pen. Everyone, one whap. Alarmed Pig Farmer could whap with a piglet, Ironman could slap (I envision Ironman having large hands)with open hand, I could get him with a rack of ribs.

Ok, it would get messy,,, but MAN, wouldn't it feel good!!

Steven L. & Gus;

To Gus,

If "Zach" comes up twenty years from now, it'll be as a reminder (I hope) of his role in the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks. And believe me, the way that our national mainstream press is run, conditional or unconditional, they will somehow, someway make Moussaoui a hero that fought against the Bush Adminisration. If the President isn't a liberal democrat, he's a monster.
And who cares about not being liked? The United States will never be liked, let alone loved, in the Middle East by Islamofeces. Which is why, for the life of me, I can't understand why they keep coming over here, and why our government keeps accepting them! I don't say spare Moussaoui so that Muslims will "like" us. I say spare him so that they know that our court system will not give them what they want, another hero to jihadic causes. They hate "We the People" for no other reason than the fact our country exists. By keeping Moussaoui alive, we make them hate us more, because the lies about being the "Great Shaitan" will be harder to explain to the masses in Islamofecesland.

To Steven, it's the small price to pay in the propaganda war. Moussaoui wants death. If we don't give it to him, he is a depressed mess. No, instead of sentencing him to death, we allow him to kill himself as an alternative to life in prison. Give him means and opportunity. This how it is don't in the Japanese penial system. The Naja prison is notorious for allowing prisoner hiri kiri. If I'm not mistaken, the Japanese consider this the only way a person in Moussaoui's condition can restore his honor. Now, I know that the liberal establishment in the penial system wont allow this
kind of verdict or action. But we can not be the instrument of his martyrdom either. So what if he gets his korans and other Islamofeces study aids, what can he do with them? If he's isolated, who will he share his learnings with? If this were Jeffery Dahmer, Ted Bundy, or John Gacy, yes, sent them into eternal damnation. But life in prison is damnation for Moussaoui!!
What happens with Moussaoui isn't a minor thing. It's the best propaganda weapon to use against the United States, thus against the extention of the United States, our Armed Forces if he is put to death. Our servicemembers don't need to have to face an enemy that's fired up because of Moussaoui's death punishment.
And as far as Osama being captured, this is the perfect canidate for "troop justice!" My fellow Marines know and understand this term very well! But we just can't give "Zach" death by lethal injection, firing squad, hanging, or ole' sparky! Moussaoui wants his death to mean something. The death penalty would do just that. It would be much cruelier if we let him rot behind prison bars until dead.

Free Woman;

Join Alarmed Pig Farmer as a sick individual. When it comes to Islamofeces, you two are maladjusted human beings. Doing "Zach" Airplane" style, that's just plan mean. Just name the place and I'm there with a side of pork ribs and mambo sauce.

alarmed pig farmer said:

Hey, that's just too cruel. I happen to like pigs, especially those cute little potbelly ones. Think up something that punishes him and leaves pigs unscathed.
;)

freewoman,

For my spot in line, I got dibs on the baseball bat with a nail through it.

Cool!

I could care less what jihad Zach wants. He is breathing valuable air and I want him to be turned into a decomposing corpse. Failure to snuff this degenerate primitive's life out will only be taken as a sign of decadenat weakness by muslims.

life in prison is too good for this monterous soul, put him once and for all. if they could kill McViegh, they can do the same for Moussaoui. just be realistic, if kept in jail, he will be given the koran, he will get more lawyers, he will still looked upon as a martr, and some might even try to kill more infidels to get him out of jail! that is why he needs to see his beloved allah in hell!

freewoman said

Ok, it would get messy,,, but MAN, wouldn't it feel good!!

You got that right!

So, Moussaoui has reasons for not wanting to be judged "mentally incompetent", since he wants to be seen as a devout and clear-thinking Islamic martyr.

Unfortunately, our government leaders and our media have the exact opposite reason for wanting him to be seen as mentally incompetent. If he is crazy, then they can continue to claim that the jihad doesn't exist, it's just the handiwork of a few crazy individuals. The media won't quote Moussaoui's spouting of hadiths in the courtroom and explain to the readers/viewers what those hadiths say, and what mainstream Islamic imams teach about those hadiths, and how those hadiths have been used in the past to justify jihad. Instead, they'll tell us that "Moussaoui believes Bush will free him from prison." He's nuts, right? Wink wink, nudge nudge.

He crazy, just like the devout Muslim who smashed the Hindu statue, or the devout Muslim who blew himself up outside the football stadium, or the devout Muslim who drove his SUV through the campus. The solution to jihad? Prozac, and maybe a little hug-therapy. That oughta do it.

"Where is jihad?"
The Imam's response shows the lie about "Jihad" being an inner struggle against vice, or concern for the poor, etc.
If Jihad were any of these things, the Iman would have said "In your soul", or "In this homeless shelter".
What an incredible difference between Christianity and the Desert Fathers, who went into solitude in the desert to wage war against the devil and achieved holiness!
One of the early desert fathers would have answered the question "Where do I go to wage war against evil?" with the answer "Go into your room, close the door, and pray."
Mohammedans, by contrast, go into city busses and wage war against retirees and laborers.
What a horrible contrast.

The problem with "not" putting him to death is the precedent that it will set. Think of all the men (and women) who are sitting on death row awaiting their appointment with death, and how Mousis' "life sentence" might undermine our system of justice.

Having said that, putting him to death would set the stage for another problem; a standard of justice towards OTHER suicidal maniacs, and a road I didn't think most of us are ready to travel down. God help us!

We wouldnt' have to worry about other death row inmates if we'd just give terrorists to the military. Let them be judge jury and executioner. These guys should never have access to our courts. And again, should not have access to the inmates in the prison system. No imams, no korans, no prostelyzing. Nothing.

Yeah - I vote for Ironman!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same Abdul Baker of the Brixton mosque who when interviewed about the fact that shoebomber Richard Reid had links with that mosque, claimed that he had warned the police about 'radicalization' going on at the mosque and called Reid's Islam a 'mutant strain of Islam'?

Could it be that Baker is playing a double game, coming the innocent to infidels whilst encouraging men like Moussaoui?

This is what, according to the BBC, Baker said about shoebomber Reid:

But at some point Reid began to get involved with extremist elements, says the chairman of Brixton Mosque, Abdul Haqq Baker.

Reid was "tempted away" by "individuals who set up a few years ago away from the mosque", Mr Baker says.

"Their teachings were a lot more militant."

He says extremists worked on "weak characters" and believes Reid was "very, very impressionable...

Abdul Haqq Baker: "Reid was very impressionable"
There is speculation that at some point during his drift to a more extreme philosophy, he may have met Zacarias Moussaoui, who has been charged in the US with conspiracy over the 11 September attacks

.......................

Well, if Baker knew Reid, well and if Baker knew Moussaoui well and discussed with him about the next up-and-coming jihad, how about speculating that all three were buddies and brothers in jihad?

If the available form of capital punishment for this guy was fitting, I'd be all in favor of it. He should be taken to the top of the Sears building and pushed over the edge. I can't imagine the horror of knowing you are going to fall 110 stories. At the bottom, there should be 3-foot high spikes to spear his body on impact. That is my version of capital punishment for terrorists. That would give those guys pause.

But what he will actually get, is a painless needle, the same treatment we give to our beloved pets!

So I figure, life in prison is a harsher punishment. Especially if an accident can happen. We all know that Dahlmer was no accident. It was arranged. We can arrange something for this guy.

WELL I say we turn the Defence on their heads and say yes this guy is a nut because he is a islamic terrorist just like Afghanistan said any one who would convert to Christianty is a nut??

What was their plenty OH Yea wasn't it death?

Now if we don't kill this guy better keep him in a streight jacket and away from any outside influnance or maybe he is going to convert to be a Christian this is why he thinks Bush will let him go?? Or has he already??

Now if they let him out this is a way to ruin him by his Conversion to become a Christian??

I like that Idea!

A MUST READ AND FOLLOW THE LINKS??

That retired Gen. Zinni would fall in with this bunch makes perfect sense after a stint at CENTCOM that included half-measures against Saddam’s regime and disaster relief operations as his claim to fame. It’s a shame that he can’t see the failure of the false policy of containment and sanctions that were right in his own backyard, but it’s a scandal that his critique of the current war can’t get beyond the subtle anti-Semitic complaints against people who actually wanted to take action to solve the problem.

His actions demonstrate that he is in perfect company with Richard Clarke and Joe Wilson.

SURE AM GLAD THERE ARE SOME REAL SMART PEOPLE OUT THERE!!

US firm wants to invest in telecom sector: Gen Zinni due on 24th
ISLAMABAD, Oct 7: Former US Centcom chief, General Anthony Zinni, is arriving here on Oct 24 in his capacity as a director of a multinational company which wants to invest in Pakistan’s telecommunication industry.

A Pakistani-American who is a partner in Gen Zinni’s company, claims that the initial investment will be between $120 million to $150 million that might expand to $5 billion over a period of 10 years.

Talking to Dawn he said Gen Zinnie would stay here for two days. He said the general, who is special envoy of President Bush on the Middle East, would meet Pakistani high-ups but his schedule was still being worked out.

Asad Kazmi, the Pakistani American who represents the company in Pakistan, said the general was coming here “on the call of the people and the government of Pakistan.” President Musharraf, he said, in his visits to the US had urged the Pakistani community to invest in Pakistan. “And here I am,” he told Dawn . “I have brought a major American company with Gen Zinni as its director to come and invest in Pakistan.”

According to Mr Kazmi the major area of their interest is wireless local loop, long distance international, PTCL privatization, particularly GSM cellular license. He said his company is also exploring avenues in energy sector.

He claimed that the company he is representing was telecommunications giant with branches in 42 countries. This will be major investment venture in Pakistan after the controversial IPPs and, more specifically, 9/11.

Mr Kazmi said the general’s visit was purely business and not political. But the general has great love for Pakistan and has always supported it. He has also expressed his “fondness for Pakistan” in his correspondence with Pakistani concerns here. Company chairman Eric Ram has already visited Pakistan and interacted with several official and private concerns.

Mr Kazmi said one of the reasons for the investment is that “we want to dispel this impression that Pakistan has a security problem and does not have an investment-conducive environment.” The fact that the person of general Zinni’s standing, he said, was coming here to invest proved that Pakistan offered lot of potential.

“Believe me, Pakistan is one of the most underestimated places for investment,” he said, adding, “ this has been the primary reason that he has been able to convince his American counterparts.”

Nuclear Material Removed From Uzbekistan
By WILLIAM J. KOLE
Associated Press Writer
VIENNA, Austria (AP) -- Spent nuclear fuel containing enough weapons-grade uranium to produce at least two bombs was safely returned to Russia from Uzbekistan this week in a high-security and classified operation, the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency disclosed Thursday.
The Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency said the operation, which was completed on Wednesday after six years of planning, was the first time since the breakup of the former Soviet Union that fuel used in a nuclear research reactor was returned to Russia.
The material - nearly 139 pounds of spent highly enriched uranium - was transported over 16 days in four high-security shipments to Russia's main nuclear waste processing plant in Mayak, the IAEA said in a statement.

GOD BLESS THE COUNTRIES WHO HAVE HEROES PITY NOT THE COUNTRIES WHO NEED THEM AMEN

PS
MORE ISLAMIC TERRORIST DEAD TODAY!!!

I think we should get some sort of clandestine organization involved to help him disappear. No fuss, no muss, and nobody will ever know what happened to him. Let the urban legends begin!

Moussoui want Martyrdom I say we give it to him...Publicly and by Firing Squad...ala "Black Jack" Pershing, with bullets dipped in PIG BLOOD.

NO VIRGINS FOR YOU ZACCARIAS...NEXT!!!

If the crime Z. committed warrants death, and it does, then his desires are irrelevant. And the opinions of him held by psychotics elsewhere are nil.

Strap him, zap him, and wrap him.

Anything less than the death penalty for declared terrorism only shows those cutting off infidel heads, and posting these gruesome 'shows' for fellow Muslims globally to giggle over, that we are unable to appreciate their threat or to answer it seriously.

Once dead, at least he cannot ever escape, or kill a guard in jail.

(And my tax dollars need to be spent helping my fellow citizens, not buying Korans, 3 squares, a warm bunk and gratis health care for Muslo-lunatics.)

Could the ISS could be converted into an orbiting Gitmo? NewScientist make a compelling point: "When you're in orbit, which way is Mecca? And how can a Muslim astronaut pray five times a day when a "day" in orbit lasts just 90 minutes?"
Well it'd keep 'em out of mischeif.

Or some kind of suspended animation would be cool (pun). That'd deny 'em martyrdom or the chance to proselytise.

The court just needs to get it over with and kill the scum.

I'm definitely with Catherine's gold star for Eisenhund. Not for his 12:10 post though, but for his previous 10:48 post:

"Whether you're in favor of the death penalty or not, it sets a dangerous precedent to start basing criminal sentences on what the convict may want or how it may be seen by other countries or our enemies. The US criminal justice system does not answer to the criminals or terrorists. Kill him or keep him alive. Either way, base the punishment on what he deserves, not on doing the opposite of what we think he wants.."

Definite Gold Star for that post. It's not our business to try to "psyche out" those who are charged in our legal system. Remember what happened to Brer Rabbit who kept pleading to do anything but throw him into the briar patch? Frankly, we're dealing with the most manipulative and cunning opponent we westerners have ever known. As much as I love Ironman Hondo, I gotta say to his stance on this, "Nuts to that"!:-)

That said, in a perfect world I am most definitely with those who recommend shooting him with a pork-product laden bullet or in other ways contaminating his body with porcine products before executing him. Any objection to using the jihadists ultimate superstitions against them is just plain stupid and anyone who seriously objects to using those superstitions against the jihadis is, in my opinion, part of the problem. I'd be for turning the tables in a heartbeat because although it might be "insensitive" and un-PC, it would save many many lives and aren't peoples lives far more important and deserving of respect than peoples' idiotic superstitions? Or has the west for some reason forgotten that rather obvious fact?

Bin Laden is an idiot. Go around asking people what they think of Pepsi and 9 in 10 will tell you they prefer Coke. The only reason Pepsi sells so well is because they have bought the exclusive rights to sell Pepsi at so many fast food franchises.
