Jihad in Berlin? From Expatica, with thanks to DJC:
BERLIN - Violence at a Berlin school dominated by Arab and Turkish youths and the nearby slaying of police officer, shot in the head while trying to arrest muggers, has fuelled alarm that troubled parts of the German capital are lurching out of control.Police have now been brought in to help control the situation at the Ruetli school in the immigrant-dominated Neukoelln district, with six officers checking students for weapons.
Teachers at the school published a letter this week widely interpreted as saying conditions at their school had become so bad that it should be closed down.
The letter said teachers had lost all authority and were now so afraid that they only entered classrooms with a mobile phone so they could call for help in an emergency.
"The mood ... is dominated by aggression, lack of respect and ignorance," said the letter, adding: "We have reached a dead end and there is no way to turn around."
Was ist los? Jetz, singen Sie:
"Lieb Vaterland, magst ruhig sein!
Lieb Vaterland, magst ruhig sein!
Jetz steht und treu die Wacht,
Die Wacht am Rhein!"
Sounds like somebody wasn't watching the Rhein very well; or did they simply pass the watch duties to a less costly and imported workforce?
In that case, looks the incidental costs of globalism has just gone up -- and nobody is singing.
I would speculate that they lost control of those students at a much earlier point, probably trying to be accomodating and understanding of "cultural differences," added to the fact that no one wants to be the "bad guy," anymore, which would involve enforcing discipline in a classroom at the expense of being the students' pal.
At any rate, it's much easier to keep control than to regain it once it has been lost.
With those ideas in mind, it's striking to consider this school's situation as a microcosm of the larger, jihad-minded immigrant population in so many cities and countries.
Zero de conduite. Less than zero.
In Austria, three muslim fathers, Bosnian and Chechnyin (sp), are demanding that the non-muslim teachers, including the head, be required to wear the hijab. This in a school where three-quarters of the pupils are muslim, and where muslim teachers and pupils are already allowed wear it. But that isn't enough, apparently.
The fathers maintain the teachers should be grateful that they have so many muslim pupils because otherwise the school would have to close for lack of numbers.
They have also demanded that the pupils not be publicly reprimanded (shame/honour?) and that they not take part in choir performances as this constitutes 'prostitution'. Also, it is not for any teacher to question their absence from swimming lessons.
The most disgusting aspect of this for me is their refusal to use the polite 'Sie' form when addressing the teachers, because as women they don't 'deserve' it.
Women, bow down to your muslim overlords!

The situation's the same in every larger German city (that meaning, every town above ~100,000 inhabitants), in varying degrees, of course. And it has been known to be so for a couple of years. But it's far easier to talk about some kind of "tolerance" and "integration" than touching this hot iron; meanwhile ignoring that both tolerance and integration always need two sides to participate.
The conservative German blogosphere keeps an eye on the situation, but just like with the USA and the UK, the MSM usually downplay it. Why? Maybe because their families, and those of the politicians don't exactly live in these quarters. It's alwayse easy to talk about fluffy multi-culturalism if it does not affect you in your daily conduct besides buying a doener kebap...
This comes as no surprise. Islam is not compatible with Western education-systems either.
All I can say to Islamists is this: please, please anger the Germans.
Thank you.
WiredDragoon: As a few obsessives fixated with the wonders of the Free Market, even here, do not want to admit, this is a matter of cheap labour brought in by mass immigration and intended to beat down the pretensions of native workers. The so-called Left and Right in politics today are, if they are anything, both expressions of the employer power blocs, and have a built-in prejudice for letting in anyone who will work cheap. Investigate the home lives of leading SDP members and even Trades Union leaders, and you will find that most of them have cheap Filipinos cleaning their houses, cooking their dinners, and washing their cars.
This, apart from all the other subjects I have been discussing, means a built-in prejudice in favour of multi-culturalism and immigration. And there is something else which may go even deeper: I am frequently astonished at how many successful Englishmen of my acquaintance have Asian SECOND wives. John Lennon divorcing an Englishwoman to marry a Japanese is, oddly enough, pretty much a pattern among rich Britons. And of course, if you have a member of a foreign nation in your bed on a regular basis, it becomes that much harder for you to imagine that there might be any reason why people of the same nation should not be let into your country en masse. I hope I am not sounding racist; anyone is free to marry whoever they want; but I would be very interested in a sociological study of the dynamics of upper-class marriages.
Paolo:
Ono was the daughter of a very wealthy family; Lennon was the abandoned son of a working class family who struck it very big. How much of his motivation in dumping his middle class British wife for Ono had to do with Lennon's notion of being upper class I don't want to hazard to guess. I suspect more had to do with Lennon being turned on by Ono's "artistic sensibilities" vs Cynthia Lennon's normalcy.
That's not to say that the Brit upper classes aren't particularly predisposed to marrying Asian exotics. I just can't think of an interesting case in point at the moment.
What do you mean by Asian?
When the English talk about Asians they generally mean people from the Indian subcontinent, that is India, Pakistan or Bangladesh. I'm not aware of a fashion amongst the English upper classes of marrying Asians in this sense.
If you mean the mail order bride phenomenon, whereby men effectively buy women from Thailand or the Philippines, the men who go in for this kind of thing are not usually rich and successful, but sad losers who can't get an Englishwoman. A lot of the mail order brides are so poor they'll settle for any man who can chew his own food.
Is anyone else having extreme difficulty signing in?
I don't fully know all that's going on in Europe, but its my understanding that there is a serious decline and aging of the European population and therefore it is necessary to bring muslims in to work...not becuase they deserve but because they are willing.
Well we have a problem in the US with illegal immigration. So why not have the USA--better yet, Mexico--arrange to have the eager Mexican and other Latin American emigres find work in Europe?
Plus, more Europenas probably speak spanish than Americans on account of Spain being on the continent.
Then Europe can send the muslims back to the Mid East where they belong and can wear all the hijabs they want do all the women dispecting they want. Europe will be much safer and see more work and less protesting.
Good idea?
What irony! And the Germans thought the Jews caused them problems. But I will resist the schadenfreude. Nevertheless, what goes around, comes around.
" the mood is dominated by lack of respect, aggression and ignorance."
Yes.. that describes muslims, succincly but adequately.
carolyn2
I always need to disable all security before I can sign in. allah will protect me.
It is a bit of a sweeping statement to say that the British upper classes choose exotic, oriental girls as marriage partners. In my circle, which, I can assure you, is wide, I know of no such incident in many generations. However, many of my friends have at least one American (USA) parent, grandparent or great-grandparent, almost invariably WASP. Many an American fortune has saved many an aristocratic familly from gradual decline.
During, and after, WWII many lonely British girls fell in love with American Servicemen (God bless them) and contracted very happy marriages. Many returned with their bridgrooms to the USA but not a few persuaded their husbands to settle here. This situation irked returning British servicemen who used to say that "the trouble with the d***ed Yanks is that they are overfed, overpaid, over-sexed and over here". A calumny, I know, and also, I hasten to add before you all flame me, not a sentiment I share and one that is by and large forgotten today.
The German problem is of that nation's own making. The rot set in with the invited gastarbeiter from Turkey and has been compounded by the understandable, given Germany's history, reluctance to do anything that could be remotely construed as racist. The problem is, of course, one very good reason for restricting, if not stopping, mohammedan immigration into Europe, and also for preventing Turkey from becoming a member of the EU.
Certiorari - are you an aristocrat?
Carolyn2 -
You must be circumspect in you tirades against islam. Robert may blow you away.
On the bright side if this keeps up there wont be a Fourth Reich.
It is well-established that the Germans do have a fuse. Perhaps, the muslims will set it.
Siegfried beat his sword into a ploughshare - and perhaps that's just as well. Or maybe not. But either way everything changes.
"The Germans", like many other phenomena, are a moving target.
Interested,
In a word - yes; but we should all strive to remember that all men and women are aristocrats in their own unique and individual way.
I am probably the sort that many people would hate - rich, from a familly that can trace its ancestry back to the conquest, landed, houses in the country and in town, with servants, with horses and dogs, with... but I'm sure that you get the picture; but I am well aware that mine is a privileged existence. I also work, but not, obviously, for a living, and I am CEO of three companies that I founded myself and that employ many people.
I do not feel that any of the above disqualifies me from commenting on the matters that Mr. Spencer posts here, or from commenting upon other people's comments. Coming from an aristocratic background does not mean that one has no intelligence or drive, although that is a canard that many people seem to need to believe in. In my circle we have all taken our patrimonies and made something greater of them.
I am chiefly worried, at the moment, about how the article posted here demonstrates what is going wrong in Europe as well as in my own beloved UK. Disruption in British schools by the mohammedans is by no means unknown and our teachers are not in any better a position to tackle it than are German teachers.
Lets see, the Germans traded 6 millions Jews for 8 million muslims. This does not sound like a very good trade does it.
I've got a solution that will solve the German school problem AND lower unemployment in America. Ok, we take all the unemployed rednecks and ship them over to Germany and place them in classes to "assist" the teacher. Here's what I mean by assist: 1) Since they're rednecks they'll have a shotgun and a hound dog that they can take to work. 2) They're rednecks so they don't care about offending people's sensitivities. 3) 9-11. So now with these 3 wonderful criteria we just tell the rednecks that these little peckers are the sons and daughters of the people who hate America and brought about 9-11, just make sure they're not completely wasted on moonshine when you tell them so that they don't immediately shoot all the kids. Next, you have the rednecks address the students and have the teachers translate for them ("alright you little summamabiches, this here is Daisy *shotgun* and this here's Charlie *dog*. If any one of you little buggers speaks out of turn Charlie will eat your balls.") After this is done you might want to have the redneck shoot out a window or something to show the kids that he means business and this will make all the rotten little bastards crap their pants (literally). Then you tell them no bathroom passes for today and start teaching, having the redneck sit at the door with Daisy and Charlie. I've also thought of the parent back lash over this horrific treatment of their kids. Bring all the parents into the gym for an open apology from the rednecks. Once all the parents are there lock the doors and have the rednecks fire their shotguns in the air all at once (this will also make the parents crap themselves). Then have the rednecks tell them how it's going to be, and if there is a problem they can take it up with the complaint department. This is when a curtain with a sign "Complaint Department" is drawn back and 10 rednecks with mini-guns are behind it with C.D. on their shirts. This should solve all your problems, let me know if we can maybe forward this to the Germans.... ;)

Do these issues ever get discussed among your circle of friends? I'm curious how the recent photo of Prince Charles in the islamic getup was received. Does anyone dare discuss it.
And, as long as you didn't cut someone's head off to get your funds (unless in the duty to your country of course) I doubt people on this site would hold your position in life against you. My wife and I have often thought that it would be very difficult to raise children with a proper work ethic if we, ourselves, did not have to work, too. (The Kennedy family of Massachussets comes to mind ...)
How have you handled this challenge?
These are not schools, these are petri dishes for 'Islamic Culture'.

It seems from your article link that the teachers and the school district stood up to these demanding moslem fathers. Is that correct?
the ultimate and one solution : deport all moslems from your country.
make a main requirement for new moslem immigrant, convert to other faith/religion or deny to enter the country.

Of course not. I never thought that for a moment - I was just curious. I have special software on my PC which reads people's comments aloud in their own voice.
To Americans we English all sound like aristocrats anyway.
What we need is a good old-fashioned war -- one where we know who is right and who is wrong. Me, I'm done talking so much. I know the only possible outcome after so many years of frustration and silence for the vast majority of working, law-abiding American CITIZENS.
Between the onslaught from Islam and Illegal Immigrants, and not all of that being separate either, there will eventually be a monumental upheaval in the States that will really make jaws drop overseas.
I know I'm not alone in thinking these things, I'm just one of the few that will come out and state it.
I come from fighting stock. I'm ready to make a stand.
Oh, and while I'm ranting, let me make one thing clear -- the traitors in Washington that are so hellbent on passing Amnesty despite 80%+ of the American People being deadset against such an action -- the Representatives that do not duly represent America WILL be ousted from office in the next election. I already hear the rumblings on the radio and on blogs. Just watch and see.

The reason that "these type of people"
are constantly in motion is because they are trying to avoid paying taxes.
If you look at your history of Europe, especially Britain you will see nothing but bloodshed and the rape of other cultures in the name of a King or Queen.
Aristocrats are parasites and have contributed nothing to the technological and socialogical advancement in this World.
There has not been a single Prince or Monarch who has inventd either a medical, chemical, physical advancement since some crackpot knelt down and declared them sire.
To Quote Prince Charles "a person should not be allowed to hold positions above their station"
Thank god for America !
The rich man in his castle
The poor man at his gate

And ordered their estate
"but we should all strive to remember that all men and women are aristocrats in their own unique and individual way."
Wow! This must be the sharpest insight here, at JW, ever.
Mrs C. F. Alexander, I think, Interested. It's amazing what people could write without blushing at one time.
I believe Prince Obolensky did score a try at Twickenham. Do you think that would count as a physical "advancement" for our friend? I believe he advanced a fair way up the pitch to do it.
Borg
Yes they did, I suppose I only gave half the story above.
Roughly:
The demand by three muslim fathers in the Otto Gloeckl school in Linz for a compulsory wearing of the hijab met with massive rejection.
The school board president for Upper Austria, Fritz Enzenhofer, called it 'madness'. The general secretary of the FP, Herbert Kickl, demanded in response a hijab ban in schools, BZO speaker Uwe Scheuch described the demands as 'unacceptable'.
Mr Enzenberger said that radical responses to these demands would not be productive, because they would only provoke the other side. Rather, what must be stated, moderately but emphatically, is 'that enough is enough' [or, this must be stopped, there must be an end to this, etc.]
School inspectors have discussed the matter with one of the fathers and he showed himself to be 'relatively reasonable'.
In cases of such demands by parents, teachers are advised to end the conversation immediately and refer the matter to their superiors.
The school is doing an excellent job of integration, Enzenberger said, but integration is not a one-way street. He would also expect that an islamic organisation would step up and state that such conduct by parents was inappropriate, thereby pulling its own people into line.
Yojimbo - even though I went to a good grammar school - a way for us oiks to attain parity with the more intelligent aristos, which was why the champagne socialists abolished them - political correctness meant that that particular verse of "All things Bright and Beautiful" was always omitted. So we all memorised it.
Likewise, though my school was theoretically non-denominational, a verse of "Once to Every Man and Nation" was always omitted. It went:
By the light of burning martyrs
Christ thy bleeding feet we track
Up new Calv’ries ever
With the cross that turns not back
Maybe they thought it was too Catholic or just too bloody. But it stuck in my mind more than all that weedy stuff about peace and love.
That should be "toiling up new Cal'vries ever". Not the same if you go by bus.
So Charles Martel contributed nothing! I think not!
That reminds me of the apocryphal story about the little girl who said she'd sung about a cross-eyed bear called Gently at Sunday School.
Silvester~
Thanks for the translation. I try but a fluent translator in each language could contribute greatly to this site.
The rich man in his castle
The poor man at his gate
God made them high and lowly
And ordered their estate
I think I got that in a Hallmark card once. From their "Condescencion & Contempt" collection.
In the version I heard it was Gladly my cross-eyed bear.
Another urban, or probably rural myth is that God made his own jam. Why? Well, he makes preserves and redeems us.
I think that may be from Anne of Green Gables.
It is unfortunate that this school in Berlin has had problems, but this is a minor symptom of a larger problem which is systemic.
Most Immigrants who have strong ties to their homeland religion, tend to form micro-cultures within their host country, they integrate with the local culture but only on a superficial level.
Religious groups who migarted to America did something similar, but their need to cooperate with each other outwayed their relgious differences, they also took with them the dream of making abtter life, so eventually they did form a new culture which is America today.
This did not happen in Europe, where old immigrant cultures being thrown together with more modern Western cultures simply did not have a common ground i.e. No "American Dream" equivalent and therefore they simply polarised and their cultures set up communities for their own benefit or as in the vast majority for the purposes of supporting families back home.
Even in England where people from other countries came to work in the 60's have not integratd into the mainstream, they have simply set up whole communites based around their original culture. e.g. Bradford. East London, Birmingham etc
Both Britain and Germany suffer from a delusion that they are multicultural, but their own culture prevents them from integrating with others, due to its "us and them" perception of foreigners.
a good example of this is the Turkish, Croations, Yugolsavians in Germany, Pakistanis and Indians in England, and Moroccans and Algerians in France.
In America what tended to happen is that a new culture was embraced and its postive aspects were woven into its own.
In Europe most if not all immigrants work, communicate and support each other, they remain isolated from the mainstream marrying within the confines of their own culture.
I have Experienced this first hand by working in all of these countries as an Avionics Engineer and it is shocking to relalise that European people are unaware for the most part who is living next door.
Both Britain and Germany suffer from a delusion that they are multicultural, but their own culture prevents them from integrating with others, due to its "us and them" perception of foreigners.
In Britain it is really only Muslim communities that have failed to assimilate. There are few problems with Hindus or Sikhs.
Strangely enough, I think the first generation of Muslim immigrants (late Fifties/early Sixties) are more integrated in many ways than their children and grandchildren.
The Muslims who integrated best were the Ugandan Asians thrown out by Idi Amin.
Yes, that's all that's necessary.
It's obviously what these guys think:
http://michellemalkin.com/archives/images/costamesa.jpg
And they haven't even got a religio-political belief-system that tells them that all Infidels must submit to them.
You need to stop congratulating yourself on a totally false and mythological account of what you imagine as your country's exceptionalism - as if wishing could put it or any other society outside social reality. It serves only to flatter your vanity.
I think the first generation of Muslim immigrants (late Fifties/early Sixties) are more integrated in many ways than their children and grandchildren.
Definitely.
When I hear of Muslim girls condemning one of their number as "a whore" for not wearing hijab I wonder if they were really aware that they are condemning their own grandmothers, none of whom wore anything round their necks (not even over the head) greater than a chiffon gauzy scarf. This from a culture which boasts of its respect for elders and better treatment of its old.
Sir Winston Churchill also contributed a great deal to his country during his time and ours and the future with his writings. His father was a lord.
Besides, who would keep up all those beautiful castles and estates? The saudi's?
I guess I was wrong about the opinions of some on this site, considering you never know if what someone tells you about themselves is even true, I wouldn't dwell on it long.

Except the first sentence:
"The ongoing demonstrations and riots against a change in French labor laws are as normal for France as snails for dinner".
The French DO NOT eat SNAILS, I want it to be clear FOREVER ! GRRRRRRRR !
But true about the impossibility of reforming France, economically speaking. Sad thing is that the young graduates, researchers or the rich people leave France to escape tax and find a more dynamic environment. That will not help France to recover, especially when the sharia is imposed, which is to say sooner than later.

Peter knows as much about Europe as I do about nuclear chemistry. But I do not pontificate about it.
Certiorari - I have been at both ends in my life, including some months as a bum on the streets of London. (And my family, though armigerous rather than properly aristocratic, does go back to the twelfth century.) But having experienced one of Britain's top public schools AND Oxford, I feel I have a little contact with that kind of atmosphere. I cannot mention the people I know who married exotic brides on a second wedding - and for some reason, always Asian, never African (I knew of one South American, but that marriage did not last) - without giving away individuals, but I can say this. When that unfortunate stockbroker, I think his name was Monckton, was murdered during a robbery, it turned out that his wife - his second wife - was of Iranian origin. I had a funny feeling of recognition, and found myself thinking: "that's funny, who does that remind me of?" - and I immediately realized that I knew of up to a dozen people who had married women from China, Japan, the Arab world or Iran after a divorce. Now if you know none, it is after all only a matter of anecdotal evidence, and I am quite willing to admit that it probably means nothing. But I do feel that upper classes tend to feel more at home with their counterparts across borders than with fellow-citizens from unenlightened lower orders.
"But I do feel that upper classes tend to feel more at home with their counterparts across borders than with fellow-citizens from unenlightened lower orders".
Correct.
I knew of up to a dozen people who had married women from China, Japan, the Arab world or Iran after a divorce.
Maybe they want a more traditional, subservient kind of woman, being unable to cope with one who argues back.

Raising, children is precisely what all parents do. If the parents have the correct attitudes then so will the children. Our four were raised to know the meaning of hard work and the value of each and every human being no matter what their apparent station in life is. I have just been presented with my first grandchild and I have every confidence that she will be raised by my eldest son and daughter-in-law to hold the same good values that we were at pains to inculculcate, I hope with kindness, him with. I do not believe that raising our four children properly was any more difficult than the experiences of any other parent – in some respects – I will admit – we probably had it easier than many – I never had actually to wash a nappy, for example – but imbueing ones offspring with sound values is a difficult task for all parents. I believe we got it right and I think my late wife would agree that they are turning out just fine.

None of us, amongst my friends, shelter abroad in some tax haven, either. To fabricate calumnies against us is not worthy of you nor does is help to propagate your perfectly valid beliefs.
HRH The Prince of Wales never actually said the words that you have ‘quoted’.
One aristocrat who actually invented something of use in this world is enough to refute your assertion. The one that springs to mind immediately is Marconi. If you use Google you will find many more throughout recent, and not so recent, history. I, and all my friends, contribute much to our countries, so that refutes your other assertion.
By all means be anti-Royalist and anti-aristocracy. You are free to do so because many enlightened aristocrats throughout the ages believed in the concepts of freedom and one man one vote. I, for one, would fight to the death for your right to hold and act, in a legal way, upon your views. Oh, and remember Lord Shaftesbury.

If I, or any of my friends, adopted the attitude embodied in that little verse we would be left chastened and in a bruised heap by those who work for us (and many others). Those days are gone – thank goodness.

I take your point. Also, you are correct in that we are both relying on personal experience rather than any kind of survey.
.................................................
It is interesting to Google for trouble in schools throughout the world. It seems that mohammedan children are extremely disruptive in school life almost everywhere in the free world. This, to me, indicates that the parents are leading this phenomenon through what is being preached to the children at home. This, in turn, supports the contention that most, if not all, mohammedans do understand fully their religion and its jihadist tendencies and are only too willing to pass this on to the next generation.

Michigan state to get language grant. And arabic is at the top of the list. It says it's strategic but how many will just use it to read the koran in it's original language to become future mohammedan soliers.

And this story at http://www.westernresistance.com/
A European manager of a 'major restaurant' in Bahrain has fled the country after being involved in a Koran desecration case.
This site also has a story about a priest jailed in Belgium for speaking out against the threat of islam. What ever happened to freedom to speak your mind?
Foehammer, I share your feeling, and you may be surprised that a lot of Latinos who cherish America, speak English, and came here to be Americans will be standing with you!
I agree that the politician's disregard for the will of the American people will not stand. Also note that the Hispanic public opinion on the border issue is 50/50.
I like Tom Tancredo, he is a real American.
El Cid:
Not a surprise to me at all. I fully understand that the issues before the American people are not those of race, but of culture, borders and National Sovereignty.
Mexican-Americans are no different from any other Americans of Italian, German, Dutch, French, English, Native American, Irish, Puerto Rican, Cuban or any other heritage when it comes to loving this country and protecting our families -- we are either all in this together or we will watch as the United States of America is turned into a third world country right before our eyes -- or worse, while it is the victim of an onslaught from the Islamofascists.
If there is one thing that is pissing me off lately, it's the realization that people like the ones that come to these forums are the exception and not the rule. I am finding that most Americans I try to engage in even small-talk that dances towards politics end up hiding their heads in the sand, turning a deaf ear and a blind eye. The average American has become SOFT, WEAK and DETACHED POLITICALLY!!!!!
Well, we need to change that. We need to demonstrate in the streets like the damn liberals, foreigners and Communists do. We need to engage strangers in conversations that they don't necessarily want to take part in -- just to make them aware that someone is willing to actually DO something about this mess. We need to hammer our newspaper editors with letters and our Representatives with faxes and emails and phonecalls. We need to start growing the Talk Radio audience to 100 million instead of 30 million. We need to demand Bibles be placed on the top shelf of Borders. We basically need to start ACTING and not just talking!!
To steal a phrase: "Just do it."
Foehammer, yes we must stand as Americans and protect the values that have made this country great.
We must also stand with the other cultures of the world against jihad, Da'wa and Dihimmitude, especially Europe.

Thank-you for your condolences and congratulations. I will resist the temptation to expiate on either subject – “the Lord givest and the Lord takest away” is about how I feel just now (but my new granddaughter is the most beautiful child that the world has ever seen).
Obviously, as you will appreciate, the mohammedan jihad really only comes up in conversation when some new outrage is perpetrated by them (or when something happens which could jeopardise business deals) so it very difficult for me to gauge the attitudes of my friends exactly. However, I know I am safe in asserting that attitudes are hardening against the mohammedans. After 9/11 we were all in a state of shock and that outrage drove all of us to look again at how we viewed the mohammedan world and how we assessed our own history and culture. Many of us spent twenty-four hours worried about friends and colleagues whom we couldn’t get hold of in the USA. Many of us waited, in some trepidation, for the other shoe to drop for we couldn’t believe that the attack on the targets in the USA was all that there was going to be that day. We, like countless others, feared the worst (as if it wasn’t bad enough already).
That was the start of a process for many of us. I found this site eventually and a few months ago started posting. Others amongst my friends went into denial and fell for the ‘tiny minority of extremists’ point of view. My best friend, and my best man (groomsman) of many years ago, simply ignored 9/11 – almost pretended it hadn’t happened. Then 7/7 happened. That, I think was our wake-up call – certainly in my group of ‘aristocratic’ friends it was. There was a sea change in attitudes. I, and some of my staff, colleagues and friends, lunched at my Club that day, ostensibly for business reasons but I am not exagerating when I say that the best efforts of a d***ed good chef turned to ashes in our mouths. I was, and still am, exceedingly proud of the calm good sense of my fellow Britons on that day. However, you asked if these events changed anything amongst the people of my class. The answer is that they did. We no longer have any real power in the land, nor should we, but we are not without influence, perhaps.
Our establishment in the UK is in a state of denial and is applying the types of remedy which have served in the past to ease the tensions in our society and in the societies which we think we influence overseas. To those who post on this site it is obvious that these actions are little better in their effect than snake oil – the political establishment still has to wake up to the real situation. With regards to the general public I simply don’t know what they may think for my lifestyle insulates me from them – please don’t judge me too harshly on this score.
However, my class, I will avere, since that day, has returned to its primitive roots. I detect a certain ‘my people, my country, how dare you’ attitude, a ‘you dare to attack us, by God, we’ll attack you right back’ sort of thing. I know, definitely, that quite a number of us simply don’t employ mohammedans any more and are in the process of divesting ourselves of the mohammedan workers we did take on in the past. I was in the fortunate position of not having any mohammedan employees – luck, not judgement – but I certainly wouldn’t, and couldn't, employ any now. Whether or not what little influence we have left to us will sway either the Government or the electors and persuade them to wake up I know not. Let us hope that it will.
The plight of Abdul Rahman is well known amongst us. Many, indeed the vast majority, of us are practising Anglicans and his story has touched our hearts. Honestly, I think that for us the Abdul Rahman episode is the final straw – the one that breaks the camel’s back – but I could be wrong, and probably I am.
I hope that this answers your question.
Certiorar, thank you for a most interesting comment on what you see happening in England from the perspective of your class.
Part of the beauty and pleasure, one could say solace, of this site is hearing the words and thoughts from the perspectives of fellow "infidels", form the many places around the world that are at risk from the mohammedans.
I also have a new grandson, who is a wonderful gift and pleasure to behold. Because of this I worry more about what kind of world he will live in and I hope that he can enjoy the achievements of Western Civilization and that he can visit Spain and Europe and find it prospering.
My greatest hope is that we can slay this mohammedans threat so he can live in a world free from fear of Dihimmitude.
For this task no sacrifice of blood and treasure is too much.
It will take patriots of all classe and all cultures to slay this dragon.
Marconi was not the inventor of radio.
Nicola Tesla had invented, and patented all the basic technologies years before Marconi started fiddling about.
However, wasn't James Clerk Maxwell some sort of aristocrat?

Most Brits sound more like Monty Pythons than 'aristocrats' to most Americans.
(The 'Boston Brahmin' types here affect the swallowing-your-words-as-you-try-to-gently-expell-them-from-your-precious-gullet tone of the Continental effete, but, in general, the only interest in such things in the U.S. is for ironic purposes.)

I think you mean "expatiate", not "expiate".
But then I'm an aristo-cat, not a -crat.
(Meanwhile, we're all children of an African great [-times 25-] grandmother who lived naked, at raw meat, and would have smacked any one of her kids who got uppity enough to think of themselves as anything but members of the plain old human family.)
"Aristocrat": "the 'best' to rule"?
History is proof against that fallacy.
From Shrinkwrapped via Gates of Vienna, a clip that appears quite germane to the conversation about the nonmuslim awareness of Islam.
"Shrinkwrapped writes today about the meta-communication concerning Islam that we Westerners receive every day. This is information that everyone receives, whether consciously or not, and despite the intentions of the officials and media people who are presenting the information:
…every time a prominent Western politician assures us, in the wake of yet another Islamist atrocity, that Islam is a Religion of Peace and the terrorists do not represent true Islam, they convey the message that Shakespeare understood so well: They doth protest too much. Inevitably, the message becomes: Atrocity ... Islam. Whether this is true or not is irrelevant; it is how our minds work and how meta-communication works. It is an inherent and emergent property of the flow of data.
The repetition of the official version of the information – “Islam is a great religion that has been hijacked by evil people” – makes the underground, secret version that much more potent. It becomes equivalent to samizdat, literature that lacks the sanction of the state, but all the more powerful for it, and ringing true to its recipients.
So… “Islam = Atrocity”."
I think you mean "expatiate", not "expiate". - profitsbeard
Expectorate?
But then I'm an aristo-cat, not a -crat.
Were you raised by feral cats, too? Good times, those were. *scratches behind ear with foot*
profitsbeard -
Yes indeed, I did mean expatiate. I blame this d***ed laptop. I just said, on another thread on this site, that I feel as if this thing is running Jihad for Windows 3.1 .
El Cid -
Congratulations. Isn't it wonderful being a grandfather. I am slightly upstaged because my mother, God bless her, tells me that I cannot know how good it is to be a great-grandparent. Mothers are like that, but I don't begrudge her a single moment of her gloating for I gloat too, as I am sure that you do - this is going to be one terribly spoilt child if we're not careful. We Christen her, my grand-daughter, this Sunday - Elizabeth Mary Louisa Christina - and I will offer a prayer for the health and long life of your grandson, if you have no objections.
Yes, this site is a solace. One learns that one is not, thank God, alone.
If we don't succeed in slaying the dragon perhaps they will.
give me doughnuts -
Yes, but my point is that aristocrats are not entirely useless and that many of us make a substantial contribution to our countries. Marconi might not have invented the radio but he exploited its potential - the inventor or the engineer/technologist, does it matter? Even if he did not invent it I am sure that you and I could find many examples of 'aristocrats' who contributed to the making our western world. I was attempting to counter blind prejudice. The fight against the encroaching mohammedan horde is not a class battle, it is of concern to all people, regardless of class, who value liberty.
Aristocrats or Middle-Class, it's all the same to me, just as long as you despise Islamofascists as much as I do.
"I am probably the sort that many people would hate - rich, from a family that can trace its ancestry back to the conquest, landed, houses in the country and in town, with servants, with horses and dogs, with..."
Certiorari-off topic, but I am curious. Why would someone hate you for having inherited wealth?
Obviously someone in your family is acting responsibly, or your estate would have been frittered away ages ago. There is nothing to be ashamed of in good fiscal management.
For example, my maternal grandfather and grandmother came to the US in the early 1900s. They worked and saved, and passed it on to their three girls. My parents saved, and when(god forbid) they pass on, their savings will come to me and my sister. My husband and I are also saving and investing. If everything goes as planned, when we pass away our children will be very comfortable, and our grandchildren will be very very comfortable. So, should someone hate us because our family became "wealthy" over the course of several generations due to hard work, saving, and the miracle of compound interest?
The whole thing seems silly to me.
The only "elite" that I can't stand are those that want to infringe on my freedoms, rights, and responsibilities as a citizen. The early republic had the motto "Don't tread on me" for a reason.
Hello,
I am a student of religion at the Open University. I did very badly with my TMA on Islam. So I am a little bit disappointed. Maybe it's because I'm also concentrating on driving lessons this year as well.
Wish me luck with my next TMA won't you all. The next one will be on Hinduism.
Virgo.
Certiorari, thank you, and best wishes to your family, please say a prayer as I will do the same.
Take solace that we will win!
You know, I have lived a long and blessed life, with the right amount of struggle and sprinkling of success. I wish the same for my grandchildren. As I grow older, I need less and less. simple things bring me the most joy and the tender kindness of my beloved wife, cheerful companion of all these many years and my children warm this old mans heart.
My children (6) and grandchildren (10) have dreams and passions that I fear will not happen if they would live in world with Islam dominant.
I still have many years ahead of me, , perhaps twenty or more, my health is excellent. I will not rest till this dragon is slain. I would sacrifice all to see them explore their dreams.
I do not hate Islam, I hate Jihad. Da'wa and dihimmitude and I love my Western culture more.
My friends, family and Children are all ready to fight these invaders, just as my ancestors from the Valencia area of Spain were ready to join EL Cid to expel the Moors.
Welcome, my friend you are not alone, you are part of my Jihadwarch family, we are all brought together by the truth, it is our best weapon.
Good luck Virgo! You are visiting Jihadwatch, you are on the right track.
El Cid -
Thank-you. We have had to delay the Christening by a week due to complications after the birth - nothing serious, I am assured.
Consider a prayer said and a candle lit - it will be Palm Sunday and this has to be auspicious, surely.

This is Britain in the 21st Century. The land of the politically correct. Recently I attempted to make a substantial, six figure, donation to a Registered Charity which I have always supported in a small way. I had my cheque returned with a covering letter that said, and I quote, that the Charity "...cannot accept donations from people such as you, whose wealth was gained from exploiting working people over many centuries and who have never expressed one iota of remorse..."
How you may feel about that is, of course, your own affair, but I am sure that you can deduce how I feel about it!
I am, also, very surprised that any Charity can afford to be so picky. I quote this example merely because it is the most recent gratuitous insult to have been offered to me. I have a file, inches thick, of many other examples!
treehugger -
The building of wealth within a family is important. Your family is something, obviously, to be proud of and for others to admire. Fight, as I do, every inch of the way. Never let the Government tell you that what you are doing is wrong.
Equally, never be without charity. Charity is the most important of the virtues. We, who have made some money, should help others up the ladder of fate - or perhaps believe the Christian saying about 'sounding brass'. It all comes to the same thing in the end, I think.
Certoriari,
Your generosity would be most appreciated by Jihad Watch!
No doubt! I promise you: You will not have your cheque returned, ain't that right, Mr. Spencer?
If you have any money left over, please support sheik yer'mami who needs money to finish his album 'winds of Jihad' So far 2 songs have been on the web (on several websites) for a year now, and they got way over a million hits.
$ 20.000.00 would be helpful and I promise to repay it with interest once the album and the booklet come out!
sheik yer'mami, thanks for the link, I really enjoyed your website and music. It was very funny and humor is an excellent way to spread the truth.
Is there a way for me to download it to my ipod?, I would gladly buy it through the itunes website.
Can you make a paypal donation? for your work.
Are you a professional musician, because I found your songs to be very well produced.
Good luck from El Cid.
Hey Eisenhund
From Pelayo
I really goofed this was posted right below onw of mine; I put two and two together and got five. I thought you guys had me confused with Paolo. Sorry for the problem.
When any Islamist says that we American Infidel Dogs do not understand Islam because we do not understand Arabic, it is our duty to reply and ask how the Iranians, Pakistanis, Indians, Indonesians, and other non-Arabs learn the Koran. We must not let them use this slimy tactic. I was once confronted by a devout Muslim who insisted that I knew nothing about Islam because I had not read the entire Koran. Later, after my slow brain caught up with me, I remembered this as a reply, alas too late: "One does not have eat every apple in the barrel to find out that it is full of rotten apples."
The most famous or infamous ad hominem attack is to add the suffix “phobe” to any word de jour. I have never been called an Islamaphobe to my face, but if it ever happens I hope that I have the presence of mind to reply that my concern over Islam is not a phobia but genuine concern molded by the events of the last five years and the support that violent jihad has from almost every prominent Islamic spokesman in the Muslim world. I do not have a phobia about poisonous snakes, but I do not want them in my house.

Would this be the same 'Paolo' that yohanbiimu and I engaged in http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/010908.php? The one who tried to further his arguments by addressing me as 'Cagnaccio' (mad dog)? He is the resident ad hominem hypocrite. Best to just acknowledge his 'greatness' and move on. He's far above us unenlightened rubes, especially those of us of the American persuasion, what with our death penalty and all.
