I confess that I had never heard of Sienna Miller before I read this, but she is now my favorite actress. After Bardot, anyway. Anti-dhimmitude from WND, with thanks to Twostellas:
Sienna Miller reportedly feared for her life after getting a flood of death threats from Islamic extremists. The American-born, British-bred actress best-known for starring in the remake of "Alfie" as well as her engagement to actor Jude Law, is said to have received a torrent of vicious threats from Muslims furious she's starring in "Interview," a remake of director Theo van Gogh's 2003 thriller....
Warning letters have been sent to Sienna, 24, who is currently filming the movie in New York, stating "she will be sorry" unless she pulls out of the project.
"Sienna refuses to give in to these threats. The people behind them represent everything she abhors," a crewmember told Britain's Daily Star. "The film hasn't got anything to do with Islam. But because it's being made as a tribute to Theo, the Islamic fundamentalists have hit the roof."
"She was scared to begin with," the source added. "But her co-star Steve [Buscemi] has been receiving similar letters, so they've been supporting each other and laughing about it."
Robert you are telling off on your age :)
Man, these Muslims just keep misunderstanding the religion of peace.
Kudos to Sienna and Steve for not cowing down to muslims. Muslims shouldn't bother themselves with what free people do.
Sienna is showing more courage than so many in the newspapers, comedy central, etc. they should hang their heads in shame.
Lulu, you are assuming that they are capable of shame. Comedy Central, for one, clearly is not.
Where are those sanctimonious talking baboons George Clooney and Steven Gaghan? Still busy saving the free world from Haliburton, George Bush, and Joe McCarthy's ghost, no doubt. Wonder if anybody else in Hollywood gives a damn about freedom of speech anymore?
The best way to stand up to these Islamic death threats is to support those threatened. Much as they might like to, Islamic terrorists can't kill us all. A good first step would be to sign The Manifesto of Twelve:
www.muslim-refusenik.com
I know not everyone here agrees with Irshad Manji's perspective, but she is not the only one on the petition; included in the (first) twelve are such luminaries as Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Taslima Nasreen, Salman Rushdie, and Ibn Warraq, among others with whom I am not familiar.
The whole goal of these death threats, as well as the actual killings, is to silence critics of Islam and protect this house-of-cards belief system from collapsing under its own weight. Rendering them ineffective goes a long way toward winning this fight, without spilling any blood.
Why Robert, was Bardot an anti-Jihadist?
Infidel Pride - Bardot's been an outspoken critic of Islam and free-wheeling immigration policies, among other things.
She's even been taken to court over it:
From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigitte_Bardot#Retirement
On June 10, 2004 Bardot was convicted by a French court of "inciting racial hatred." She was fined 5,000 € and it is the fourth such conviction/fine she has faced from French courts. These recent fines pertain to her aforementioned book. In particular the courts cited passages where Bardot referred to the "Islamization of France" and the "underground and dangerous infiltration of Islam." (France's 5-million member Muslim community is the largest in Europe.)
As the rest of the Wikipedia article shows, some of her chosen soapboxes attract more sympathy than others, but the combination of star power and anti-dhimmitude should have apologists and multiculturalists losing a little sleep at night in France.
God bless Bardot. If only Angelina Jolie would be so bold and wise.
Thanks for reminding me, Shinoliite. I had totally forgotten: I thought Robert was displaying his artistic tastes.
She is getting death threats just for making a movie? But Michael Moore said, "There is no terrorist threat." Let's see, she is getting death threats because the Western imperialist superpowers are oppressing the Middle East masses, right? No? You mean she is getting death threats for making a statement about women's rights? So what happened to freedom of artistic expression? This is America, right? Michael Moore? George Clueless? Anybody?
Here's an image for all the glitterati on the Left Coast: This is your brain. This your brain splattered on the sidewalk of New York City by jihad because you dared practice your freedom of artistic expression. Any questions?

I agree. Just like the morehamhead toons, where we supported the Danes by buying their Carlsberg, bacon, and porn....whilst the 'hamheads' boycotted them...(although sale of flags went up)
worth waiting for.(Ice cold in Alex)
finally a non dhimmi hollywood star. Never really heard of her before until recently but either way good for her.
Yes, for some years BB ( as we aging baby boomers referred to Bridget Bardot ) was outspoken against the mohammaddan infiltration of her home country.
However, the last photo I saw of her she was posing smiling and cuddling up to an Iman and quoted alomg the lines of " Muslims are our friends" etc.
My take on the rather abrubt reversal was that most likely BB had rec'd serious threats from the mohammedans ( perhaps threatening to kill her beloved pets ? who she cares about more than herself ) and had staged a false change of mind.
Any French posters have any inside information on BB's turnaround ? It just didn't ring true to me in the light of her previous anti- mohammedan stance.
I didn't know who she was either but I just did a google search and saw her photo. Anti-dhimmi AND a gorgeous babe! What more can you ask for?
Finally - a GENUINE example of Hollywood actors demonstrating real guts and artistic integrity in the face of very real threats. Kudos to both Sienna Miller and Steve Buscemi, whose faces are completely recognizable on the street. May they set an example for the likes of Penn, Sarandon et al. I will definitely look for the movie when it comes out.
"Where [is]George Clooney..."
-- from a posting above
Possibly lolling lakeside in Laglio, where the villa he bought from Ferreira Heinz Kerry, suitable for any speaking-truth-to-power man of the people, still needs one more thing, and he's attempting to get it: Clooney has demanded the right to shut off the waterfront from public access, much to the consternation of the townspeople. But he's Hollywood. They are merely comaschi, servants, local color.
The internet movie database page for the movie Interview, has Steve Buscemi as the directeur, as well as lead actor. It is currently in post-production, and is expected to be released in 2007.
It's all about not caving into threats.
Respect to the actress.
Heaven protect them but we need more celebrities speaking out.
BTW the Theo van Gogh's full movie Submission can be seen online at the bottom of the page
