On Friday, I posted an appeal for donations. Response has been overwhelming, and I am very grateful to all who have donated and to all who have sent kind notes and good wishes. We have a lot of plans and hopes here at Jihad Watch, and certainly a great deal of work to do, and I appreciate the fact that so many of you are willing and able to help us.
A housekeeping note: I have received word from several people that they were unable to donate through Amazon, although some Amazon donations came through after I received some of those notes. The people who couldn't donate received a message from Amazon saying that Jihad Watch no longer had an account there, which was news to me. But so far all I succeeded in doing when I tried to contact Amazon about this was -- apparently -- signing up for the program again. I am still trying to figure out how to contact someone there about the status of my existing account; if anyone knows, please contact me at director@jihadwatch.org.
Meanwhile, it is still possible to donate. The PayPal link seems to be working just fine. And the snail mail address is Jihad Watch, PO Box 9437, Gaithersburg, MD 20898-9437.
Jihad Watch is an attempt to defend the equality of rights and dignity of all people, which are threatened by the Islamic jihad imperative to impose Sharia everywhere. Thank you again for your support in this great struggle.
Looks to me like Amazon may have swept the carpet from under your feet, Robert, or maybe reading to much of The Gaurdian. Maybe, im just being paranoid. Still, sounds more plausible than a Zionist conspiracy.
I apoligise, i didnt donate money, yet, as im having difficulty barely paying bills. But it will happen, in the meantime, ill just keep telling people about the site.
Careful with that paypal too, they are increasingly engaging in economic censorship. A few of the boards that I participate on that accept donations through them have had their accounts suspended. Any funds in the accounts are frozen for up to 6 months, and there is basically nothing any of them can do to get their funds released more expediently.
Banking laws do not apply to paypal, as they are not a bank. They can pretty much make it up as they go. Right in their TOS it states that PayPal can close your account for any reason what-so-ever, or no reason, and then you have to wait 180 days to get your money.

I will stick to snail-mail myself, just want to make sure that my payment method will actually be viable for you. I live in Canada, and have had other businesses and sites inform me that a money order from Canada, even one drawn up in US funds, costs a considerable amount to cash. Has anyone from JW had this occur? I was thinking a Western Union US dollar money order might work best.
Of course I live about a mile from the US/Can border so it would be fairly easy for me to just pop over and purchase a money order stateside as well if I have to. Just easier if I don't have to.

If Paypal or Amazon ever hassles you or ties up your funds or denies you based on their own interpretations of the Bill of Rights, Robert, I know some lawyers who know some lawyers. Real media darlings, too, with muscle.

Ditto on profitsbeard "Paypal worked fine for me." And I intend to make this a regular occurance. In all honesty I cannot think of a website or any other media program that has as much importance and value as JihadWatch/DhimmiWatch.
I know Robert must make some money from also being a best-selling author; I have yet to figure out how Hugh pays his bills from this endeavour. Apparently saving the free world does not pay well, while selling it out pays handsomely. I'll continue giving what I can, and working towards the day my ship will come in and I can be far more generous.

Fight Islam everyone....with all that you have....your money, your mind, your soul. To win this great battle will demand everything we have. Pressure your friends and family to learn about the true nature of Islam, put those relationships on the line, draw a line in the sand and make a demand that they sit down and learn......they already have plenty of good reasons to do so.....they don't need to see a beheading up close to be inspired to learn. They have 9/11, the Madrid and London bombings, the cartoon riots, the Afghani convert story, 1400 years of Islamic history, and no clear answer from any politician or media outlet.
Do all you can. Change your lifestyle, your whole life if you have to.
If things go right and the West wakes up to the truth about Islam, you'll say "maybe I didn't have to sacrifice so much." But...if the West and America don't wake up to the truth about Islam.....you'll never sleep well knowing you didn't do all that you could have.
I won't dare chance that. If Islam is to take root in America and the Western Hemisphere, I'll be damned sure that I know I did all I could to stop it.

Put another way, this website dedicated to saving freedom. It is at is at the vanguard of a nascent movement, one that will hopefully grow by leaps and bounds.
There are many other well-intended sites on this all-important subject area, but only this joint has the depth, background, and contacts to lead the way.
Paypal also worked fine for me. You can also make a donation via PayPal with a credit card even if you don't have a PayPal account.
Credit card payment via PayPal worked for me. Amazon did not.

It is easier to get a hold of God than someone at Amazon. I recently tried selling my band's album via Amazon.com, and trying to talk to someone about technical issues was pretty much just as effective as talking to a brick wall.
I'd just stick with Paypal. Although that is alarming about the censorship thing.
I can verify that the Amazon method of contributing is not working as I just received this from them:
"director@jihadwatch.org is no longer a registered user of Amazon Honor
System. As such, we have canceled your voluntary payment and your
credit card has not been charged."
I sincerely hope this was an intended. If not, do let us know, because if Amazon is taking a stand I would like to let them know that one of its long time loyal customers is sorely disappointed.

I've mailed my check yesterday, but wish I could have sent more. I know my case is probably not unique in that I've had a big tax bill, thereby making this month bad timing, and limiting what I would have liked to send. Nonetheless, I hope Jihadwatch raises what it needs to raise to keep operating.
In response to the begging for financial aid, I've ordered several of Mr. Spencer's books, which I shall give away as presents to friends.
I am willing to donate some money, maybe even on a regular basis, however, I don't feel at easy with any of the payment methods provided.
Mr. Spencer, is there a bank-account I could transfer some money to from Europe? (Account holder name, IBAN and BIC would suffice I suppose).
Money's tight for me. I will when I can.

Robert Spencer and Hugh Fitzgerald, asking for $1000 donations makes sense, but ask for small donations of a few dollars too. Also, emphasize specific projects needing funding -- people get more excited about that than they will about funding operating costs.
Those short of funds might consider donating something small to Jihad Watch, any amount affordable...hundreds of thousands of visitors come to this site in the course of a month -- if ten thousand people during the course of a year gave $5, that would be a pretty fair chunk of change.
Robert and Hugh, one single post requesting funds is surely not enough --
Various alternatives -- 1)a fund raising month once a year when the site does this or that to emphasize a funding goal help you get your projects done 2) or maybe some kind of a fund drive one weekend every two months or 3) a short post once a month to get donations.

I seriously doubt that Amazon is "taking a stand" against Mr. Spencer because if they wanted to do that they could simply not offer his books for sale.
