Paul Belien at the Brussels Journal (thanks to JS) reports on some anti-dhimmitude in Belgium, and predictable dhimmitude from the BBC (news links in the original):
Today, some 80,000 people participated in a silent march in Brussels to commemorate 17 year old Joe Van Holsbeeck, who was knifed on 12 April because he refused to hand over his MP3 player to two North African youths. The murder happened during the evening rush hour in a crowded Brussels central station. The murderers were filmed by security cameras, but it took a full week before the authorities released the footage. The assassins are still at large. This BBC report about the march, which was the largest protest in the country since 1996 when 300,000 marched through Brussels in anger over the murdering of children, does not mention the ethnicity of the assassins, though many Belgians are worried about the extremely violent mentality of North African youth gangs. [update 24 April, 7:30am GMT: the BBC has added a few final paragraphs mentioning "racial tension"] In fact, the initiative for the march came from Fouad Ahidar, a Moroccan-born Flemish member of the Brussels regional parliament, who said last week that many immigrants are equally worried about violent Moroccan youth gangs.
Read it all.
It would sure be illuminating if a journalist could arouse his vestigial morals and track a tail like this to its exciting conclusion. By that I mean, is the BBC on ths take, assuaging foreign investors, intimidated by eurodhimmi dignitaries, fawning after favorite academics or political ideologues, totally cowed in fear of retaliation or islamophobia charges, totally imploded in their PC utopian alternate universe, or what? (By the way, you may insert nearly any media outlet name for BBC). I don't mean in theory or supposition, I mean naming names and hanging the traitorous bastards out to dry, connecting the dots, exposing in SPECIFIC cases why this media dhimmitude occurs.
Will this public demonstration be satisfactorily taken up by the Belgian government? Will the perpetrators be brought to justice? Will the safe havens for the perpetrators be eliminated? Will the questions be raised: "How do such immigrants improve the quality of life in the West? Where is the enrichment of culture? How is life in the West made better by the 'contributions' of crime, intimidation and subversion?"
More street democracy of this sort is required. The ability of the Moslem hordes to mobilize at "provocations" of their own inducement must be matched with heightened awareness and willingness to act on the part of the non-Moslem public.
Moslems are guests in the West. They are proving themselves to be very poor guests indeed. The West is under no obligation to put up with such behavior. A grass roots rejection of the Islamic cancer is the only solution, one that governments cannot ignore.
I'm sure moderates are afraid of the violent "youths"! My Dutch friend said the secular Muslims she knows were all going to vote for Pim Fortuyn because they fear the radicals that much.
But the dhimmi state betrays them as well as the Europeans by coddling of the radicals.

Did you miss the weeks that passed after September 11?
From a earlier Brussels Journal post:
Joe Van Holsbeeck, the 17 year old boy who died after being butchered with a knife by North African youths in Brussels Central Station last week, was buried today. Muslim immigrants distributed home baked bread during the funeral. Joe was savagely stabbed to death Wednesday a week ago when he refused to hand over his MP3 player to the North Africans. Immediately after the assassination the police inquired whether Joe had made any “racist remarks” whilst been mugged, but Joe and his family and friends were not racists. On the contrary.
Joe’s parents opted for a memorial service instead of the traditional funeral Mass. The parish priest of the Catholic St. Elisabeth Church of the Brussels borough of Haren told Belgian radio this morning that the parents wanted to ensure that “immigrants would not feel excluded at the funeral service.” The priest did not hand out the Holy Eucharist to the mourners, but the immigrant neighbours of the Van Holsbeeck family distributed home baked bread. This, the priest explained, was “a sign of fraternity” between Belgians and immigrants.
From the BBC:
Not to denigrate the loss of this poor boy's life by this brutal broad daylight murder, but these "silent" kumbaya marching "protesters" would most likely also march silently to the gas chambers.
The world is at war, people. It is a war that the Islamic world has declared on the non-Muslim world and not the other way round. It's time to wake up and smell the napalm.
E.U. IMMIGRANT QUESTIONAIRE:
1. Why do you want to live in Europe:
Ans.: To spread the power of the Ummah, and destroy the infidel civilization, of course.
2. What do you intend to do for a living in Europe?
Ans.: Leech off you gutless suckers while gathering fellow-warriors for the cause of the undermining of the West, primarily through mosques, "social" centers and online at non-European language websites promoting the Jihad.
3. What is your opinion of Europe?
Ans.: Land of the infidel dogs, to be obliterated and replaced with the Islamic Imperium. Go to hell, weak kafir scum!
And then the E.U. says:
Welcome! The dole line is over there. We have translators if you do not speak any of our tongues. Here is a list of the local mosques. Be sure to use our free phone calling cards to let your family back home know about your treatment.
While the sound of knives being sharpened in the back rooms of the falafel shoppes and internet cafes grows louder and louder, from Madrid to Nuremberg, Copenhagen to Cannes.
To put some perspective on things, the march was directed against street violence as such. In other words, great care was taken to avoid any ethnic dimension of this violence and to stick to the "disadvantaged youth" theme. The main "ethnic" aspect was the (undoubtedly very widespread) outrage caused by all those right wing reactionaries who are trying to hijack a peaceful demonstration for their own purposes. In fact, the marchers didn't even demand a crackdown on street violence, but called out for "a dialogue with criminal youth". Lacking a PhD in sociology, I'm not completely sure how such a dialogue between robbers and victims would be organized, like who would be chosen to represent both sides and which specific issues would be discussed. What I do understand, however, is the reason behind this remarkable spectacle.
You see, after many years during which crime rates were not a legitimate cause for concern, Belgians are now allowed to express worry about their physical safety. In this refreshing climate of openness we're even allowed to relate a rise in crime with immigration: immigration causes poverty, because native entrepreneurs do not offer enough jobs to immigrants. (As a sidenote: Belgian labour unions didn't like the idea of having to compete with foreign workers, so requesting asylum followed by obtaining the Belgian nationality is now the main source of immigration.) Since we're not allowed to compare for instance Polish immigrants with North-African immigrants, all this makes perfect sense and calling out for dialogue and job creation quickly becomes the only sensible option. Especially if you're a public figure and you want to keep your own job.

Great post.
The way our leaders are going about it, they still feel that an honourable settlement, a memorandum of understanding between the so called "civilisations", can be achieved with inter-faith dialogue and that sort of thing.
Hopefully, the message that we are in a fight to the finish, will get through. And that in a war, and particularly this one, there can be no honourable settlement. It will be a complete victory or complete defeat for one side.
What I wish muslims will realise is that victory of islam is not in their interests, either physical or intellectual. They have much to lose.
Had two Euro-Belgian youths murdered a 17-year-old Moroccan, how loud do you think the marchers would be?
The media would have saturation coverage of the "hate crime" and the Euro-governments would rush to increase the welfare payments to all the North African "victims" of the "racism" of Christian Europe.
But when the victim is a European Christian or Jew, all he gets is a silent march where the participants fall all over each other not to acknowledge the plain racialist and religious motivations of the Muslim perpetrators.
If foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, then these people have minds as big as a dinosaur's butt... and just as extinct.
Belgian Radio said this morning that one of the killers of Joe has been arrested (it's not the one who knifed him, but his accomplice). He has already confessed, his parents knew about it, but kept it quiet.
Interesting is that he is not of North-African origine, but is from POLISH origine !!! So he's no Muslim whatsoever... So BBC and Belgian justice were right to not stress on the fact that it were North-Africans, because now it seems they were not, although everyone assumed rigth away. Maybe this will open their eyes, that such crimes have nothing to do with religion, but everything with the living circumstances and education of this youth...
In contrast to what Mr. Spencer describes as "some anti-dhimmitude", the call for dialogue and the refusal to deal with ethnicity questions, at least in my opinion, transform the march's context into something similar to dhimmitude.
I find the victim's father and other citizens' call for dialogue with juvenile delinquents a call for madness. As one observant reader noted in a Belgian newspaper, what good is dialogue if so many youth organizations and local projects have occupied themselves with impoverished kids during the last two decades. I can't confirm that observation timewise, but I can say that the idea of dialogue with hard-core juvenile criminals has hitherto not been backed up with solid scientific evidence, to the best of my knowledge.
Another issue which can't be underpinned by statistics either, is the oversimplifying myth that immigrants' lack of jobs causes poverty and induces them to commit crimes. Having a criminology degree, I am familiar with many theories trying to explain criminality, which I won't elaborate on here. However, like the Dutch sociologist Marion Van San and other academic experts, I do believe that the correlations between ethnicity and crime are worth researching. How do you explain that both judicial practices as well as statistics, including Van San's famous report, indicate that some ethnic groups are more involved in violent crimes than other allochtonous groups, unless you want to claim the existence of race-specific racism, a card often played by Muslims (I must have missed out on the development of their becoming a race).
Whilst the march may be applauded as a swift mobilization of people willing to express their concerns, the issue of ethnicity is exactly the most pertinent question with respect to juvenile delinquency which is being avoided. Whether the offenders in this particular incident are said to be of Arabic or Polish origin, the fact is that some ethnic groups are generally more involved in certain crimes relative to their proportion of the population. Ironically, there's something racist about the march itself, because it didn't take place after a 16-year old Nigerian boy's throat got cut by two Moroccon youth in Brussels last January for pretty much the same reason, a murder which did not even make most newspapers.
Apparently, the brutal killing of certain innocent-looking boys makes hobgoblins march but where were they when an attempt was made to murder freedom of expression through some cartoons? Or why did the boy's parents and the media feel the need to publicly proclaim that their child wasn't a racist? This implies that we should feel less sorry for people who entertain or utter ideas which are (perceived as) racist. Indeed, people feel less sympathetic with those who exercise their right to freedom of expression; few were flooding the streets after Fortuyn and Van Gogh - everything but racists - got murdered.
From the perspective of civilization's sake, I care far more about the preservation of our modern values than one life. Based upon the information currently available to me, I'm forced to interpret this march as a mass initiative for the wrong reasons as long as people keep on subjecting themselves to avoiding the tough questions all the same. That's what 'dhimmituders' do.
Murderers are Gypsies (Cyganie, Ziganes).
The are NOT Poles!!! Gypsies living in Poland are for Poles like Moroccans living in Belgium for Belgians. Unfortunately, they are famous of cheating and stealing. This opinion is based on facts. I and my family’s members have experienced their behaviour.
Regards,
A.
