ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - An Al-Qaida member wanted for his suspected role in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in East Africa was killed by Pakistani forces near the Afghan border, a Pakistani official said Thursday.FBI officials in Washington and U.S. and Egyptian diplomats in Islamabad were unable to confirm the death.
Egyptian Mohsin Musa Matawalli Atwah, 45, who was on the FBI's list of most-wanted terrorists, was killed along with at least six other militants in a raid led by helicopter gunships late Wednesday in the remote North Waziristan village of Naghar Kalai, near the Afghan border, the official said on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation.
U.S. authorities had posted a $5 million bounty for Atwah, who was accused of involvement in the Aug. 7, 1998, bombings of the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya.

Yawn...another on the list of "most wanted" terrorists is captured or killed. Only about a hundred thousand left now - we're making real progress, thanks to our staunch allies Pakistan and post-Taliban Afghanistan, who will, I am sure, find Bin Ladin any day now, in order that he may be brought to justice. Actually, I am sure that Pakistani and Afghan troops have known of his whereabouts time and again, only arriving just a moment - or a day - too late to capture him because they, as believing Muslims, regard him as a hero. Instead, as a sop to the infidel USA which pours money into these countries as a form of jizya, the usual suspects are rounded up and the number six man, or the number nine man, or the lieutenant Hamza al-Whatever who is reputedly third in command to the fifth in command twice removed, is captured, and ultimately released due to a case of mistaken identity. But we'll get 'em, eventually, won't we? Even though there are numberless volunteers signing up to replace them, thanks to the masjids and madrassas all over Pakistan, which, remember, is our staunch ally.
