The story does not suprise me at all. Once again, this needs to be repeated: Islam is an oppresive faith when it comes to women and girls, period. That faith has always been good to the men and boys.

Ironman, that's why I gave the suggestions. If it took him going to a judge to make her come back home, she could make him rue the day he went to court.
Apparently there is no difference in being in a muslim marriage and muslim prison. Either one would make you want to slit your wrists.

I agree with you. If this woman had done just an iota of what her husband did, then she would've been ordered by an Islamic court of sharia law to be hung by the neck until dead or buried waist deep in a hole and stoned to death. And maybe with the crowd being led by her philanderous scum of a husband.
RReading such things reminds me of a woman I knew in Texas who married a Gulf Arab; he took her to Saudi Arabia and dumped her. He had said he had had "second thoughts" about her "suitability" and did not want to be married a woman who would produce "half cast" children for him. It took her two years working for a British company in Sodomy Arabia to get back to the states. One wonders how many horror stories there are behind the ornate facade of the "Religion of Peace."
