Another honor killing in Pakistan

Future of Eurabia Alert from Pakistan. This one happened because she eloped. "Boy kills elder sister for honour," from the Daily Times, with thanks to Nicolei:

LAHORE: A boy killed his 22-year-old newly wed elder sister in Mohlanwal village in Manga Mandi police precincts on Wednesday. Police said Kishwar (22) from Sahiwal had an affair with her neighbour, whom she eloped with to Lahore. The couple married and was living in Kishwar’s aunt Razia’s house. When Irfan arrived at Razia’s house and found his sister, he quarrelled with her and shot her. The body has been sent for autopsy and Irfan has surrendered.

Pakistan again:

THREE men and a woman are being sought over the murder of a boy aged 11, who was allegedly strangled to stop him wedding one of the killers' women in an arranged marriage, police in the Pakistani city of Karachi said yesterday.

Marriage had been ordered in compensation for the kidnapping of the boy's 15-year-old sister. Mohammad Asif was killed on Sunday, five months after his sister was abducted from their home.

The children's widower father, Saeed Akbar, a rickshaw driver, appealed to a tribal jirga, or council, for justice after his daughter was snatched. But after the jirga ordered the kidnappers to betroth one of their daughters to the boy, they began making threats, prompting Mr Akbar to seek protection from the jirga.

"But before that they killed my innocent son in revenge," he said, describing how he saw smoke rising from his house after leaving for work.

As an only child, I've always envied people who have brothers and sisters. From my experience, friends who had brothers and sisters got on well with them, despite the odd quarrel or fight.

I can't understand how some-one could kill their own sibling. I can't understand what the family dynamics are that would make some-one do something like that.

Voltaire, generally when a young boy does the killing, it seems to be at the orders of his elders.

Young men are considered more expendable when it is necessary to safeguard "honor"

I started to write, sane people do not encourage their children to kill anyone, much less their own family.

Islam makes it easy for people to kill one another without conscience. This kid will not think twice about killing someone else for the rest of his life.

Nut countries like these think they deserve nukes, technology and everything modern, and yet, they continue to live like barbarians. I still say it's like giving 4 year olds loaded guns to play with and then not expecting them to hurt themselves.

Papa Bear;

You're talking about in a normal family situation. This is not a normal family situation. May be this boy was ordered, but I doubt it. Knowing what we know about Islam, what you're suggesting is a far stretch. In the Sudan, a 16 year old ook a knife and killed the alleged murderer of his father. This was after the man was found guity by an Islamic court of law. Afterwards the 16 year old was quoted as saying that he was PROUD to avenge his father. Now was this young boy ordered to do this? Yes he was. Did he have a place to decline such an order? This is unknown to me. But according to the story, the 16 year old showed no hesitation. And that his first strike was to the accused head with the knife. There were other pictures of this display of Islamic justice, but only a few were printed. But from the pics that were printed, you could see the savageness of this 16 year old's attack on a man that was bound with his head covered screaming "Allah is great." And to note the picture of the 16 year old had him with his face covered with only his eyes showing. And it has been said "the eyes are the windows to the soul." This teenagers eyes were very cold and blank.
Papa bear if this boy was ordered, he did it with a glad heart. With a cold and heartless zeal. I've three sisters and though they've never did everything that I felt was becoming at times, it never entered my head to murder them and use the piss-poor excuse of "family honor."

The family "dynamics" might be partially explained by the "sibling" being a half-sibling in a context where the father uses resources not to help his child but to support another wife. Also, cruelty to kids and to their mothers adds to the likelihood that the kids will be dead-eyed and dangerous.

Today I feel more optimistic about the struggle. Savage stupidity cannot win, 250 years after the enlightenment. Um... maybe.

mmm is Naseem anywhere to defend Islam again? what kind of culture produces the most murder for family honour killings! what a bunch of pathetic people, they kill each other faster than they can breed!

What you have here is "Islamic birth control". A little late, but just as effective. Truly, these people are nuts.

Ah yes, Islam has so much honor, so much to be proud of.

And just where is that latest fawta denouncing this type of behaviour? Come on Mr. Egyptian Mufti who can issue 7000 thousand in a months time. Surely you can issue ONE where MURDER is concerned?

In the absence of this crime not being explicitly outlawed in the Koran, it is incumbent on the imans to rule it illegal. One would think they would be pounding the idea you can't be doing this into the brains of their "constituents" in light of this crime's popularity. Yet, we don't hear of these kinds of fatwas on the subject so I can only conclude Islam sanctions this sort of behaviour.

Anyone who can put up with this as part of their religion is not the type of person I want to be in the same room with. ISLAM, THE SANCTIONOR OF BARBARISM!

"Honor's" antonym is "disgrace".

This is a disgrace.

But this is Islam, where black is white and white is black.

A supposedly "shame-based" culture that knows no shame - that is, in fact, shame-LESS.

I don't think I'll ever be able to comprehend the mind or logic associated with such cold-blooded acts of killing.

Honor killing = oxymoron.
