She was expected to go to the US in May 2007, but because she must leave her house, that has been advanced. Hirsi Ali wants to finish her book "een korte weg naar de verlichting" (re: a short road / path to the enlightenment).
According to De Volkskrant she will she will leave to the US September 1, 2006.
Exactly what I was afraid of. She will be welcomed into the US and she will get the respect she deserves there, but it is a crying shame that we force people like her to leave our country.
Do we, finally, have someone who defends our freedom of speech, even putting her life on the line, we force her to leave our country and move to the US. It is making me all sick.

Nothing was revealed, nothing secret, no unknown facts, that Ayaan had not revealed herself when she entered Dutch politics.
Nevertheless, a curious mob of social-democrats and rightists extremists has gathered now looking for the end of Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
Why? They say because she lied when asking for permission to stay in the country in 1992.
In Holland’s most popular late night talkshow, BvD, Ayaan said on 9.11.2002 after she was asked how she entered Holland:
‘I arrived in ’92 and at that time the whole world came [to Holland]. There were civil wars all over the place. The Balkan, Sierra Leone, Somalia. It was favorable to come from Somalia. I don’t know if I got a refugee status because of my story. I did not report I arrived from Kenya. I told them that I came from Somalia.’
Question: So you needed to lie in order to get a refugee status?
Ayaan: ‘Absolutely! But I don’t know if I got it based upon the lie. Presently, people lie as well and they don’t hand out permissions to stay, but at the time it was an easier period to give out permissions.’
Again: this was in Holland’s most popular talkshow. We all knew about this 'lie' for four years now. She has been mentioning this herself many, many times.
Now, the VARA television revealed hat Ayaan lied in 1992 when she asked to stay in Holland. And VARA pretends that she tried to hide this lie. Which is a lie itself.
Something unbelievable is unfolding in Holland in the last 48 hours: despite the fact that the so-called ‘revelations’ VARA aired are widely available on the internet for years – just Google the fascinating New York Times Magazine piece written by Christopher Caldwell – Ayaan-hating extremists from the left to the right have bonded and are now trying to hang her in public.
A part of the public loves it. It is always great to see a prominent person being hanged. She was admired by many, but at the same time people were afraid that Ayaan’s ideas were provoking the Islamists.
Ayaan was considered a firebrand, and these ‘revelations’ are now being used by the multiculturalists and politicians with all kinds of objectives (for instance: to hurt the liberal party that is now in a huge upswing in the polls) in order to silence her, hurt her reputation, kill her character.
They seem to be succeeding. After Ayaan was ordered two weeks ago by a court order to leave her apartment within four months after her neighbors took her to court complaining that her presence was endangering their lives – the court order turned her into an official pariah – ‘mysteries’ in her past, about which she has been totally open and honest, are now being ‘revealed’ in order to destruct her reputation.
During World War II, eighty percent of Dutch Jews were deported to the camps and killed. They were often delivered to the Nazi’s by the Dutch themselves. They wanted to protect themselves and hoped that collaboration would make them safe.
The Dutch now desperately want to hang Ayaan in the hope to restore the multicultural dream. VARA created an atmosphere in which so-called ‘revelations’ mystify and falsify Ayaan’s past and present.
We are now witnessing in Holland the public execution of Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

I bet she's looking forward to a good night's sleep in her own bed, in a home she can call her own at last.
She will be an addition to the US. She's smart, brave-and she looks like she is slender and has nice legs too-LOL. It's a win for the US.
Good can come of this, and bad. It is very bad for Holland. It could be very good for the United States. Actually this has been talked about ever since the Theo Vangogh murder.
In fact very few people know that Hirsi was taken to California right after the murder and spent nearly 2 months there in as Robert would call undisclosed ville.
Unfortunately for the Netherlands, Hirsi Ali has become to much of a polarizing figure there after becoming a political figure.

Ms. Ali will be a useful asset to our fight against CAIR and all the other 'so called' Islamic "civil rights" groups. And hopefully she'll give the Bush Administration a cold hard lesson about the "religion of peace."

I watched the Sunday News promgrams and the letter issue never came up on these shows, as far as I know.
This is a loss for the Netherlands but a gain for the United States.
As an American living in the United States, I am very happy to have Ayaan Hirsi Ali living among us.
Ms. Ali is a wonderful role model for Muslims, especially Muslim women.
She is a wonderful addition to this country, home of the brave and free.

Once, the Netherlands were a reletively free country, but some decades ago our politicians started to invite muslim immigrants to the country. At least Dutch people should have realised that this was a big mistake when muslims went on the street and asked for the killing Salman Rushdie in 1989. Then, they should have sent the Dutch politicians home.
Now, years later (also a ritual slaughter of islam-critic Theo van Gogh later), the majority of the Dutch are still ignorant of the truth: that islam is the greatest threat to their country.
Ayaan is leaving a country in which the Dutch politician Geert Wilders is protected 24 ours a day against islamofascist. Also the country in which the freethinker Afshin Ellian can't walk the streets for the same reason.
Actually, if you look at it, the Netherlands are getting as unfree as during the nazi occupation and it is only getting worse.
I think she made the right decision, sad to see Europe lose her, but really happy that she will be safe and I hope that she advises this thinktank on how to reverse the Muslim takeover of Europe. But I expect that many people will end up making the same choice as Ayaan in the coming years.

Oh my gosh! I am just blown away. I have just been reading her new book. She is cut from the same intellectual cloth as Ibn Warraq: someone who came from another culture and now defends Western civilization and values more eloquently than most Westerners. (Don't get me started on self-hating Westerners like Noam Chomsky - Chomsky is the ultimate self-hater - a self-hating Jew and a self-hating Westerner)I guess Europe really is doomed. The Anglosphere and Israel must prepare for a huge crush of refugees from Europe as more and more people there see the writing on the wall.
To think that Europe could fall so far so fast. I remember the euphoria in 1986 when the Wall was being pulled down. At the same time, I remember reading about the guest worker problems that Germany had but paid them no heed.

Can anyone clarity if Christians even have rights to hold office in Iraq before the war? I think Aljazeera is lying again, come on, how can the reason for not having any Christians working for the government in pre-war Iraq is solely because none have any "political ambition"? That’s like saying all Mexicans wear sombreros, but of course that’s typical of Aljaeera, none of their opinion sections ever have anything pro West.

I'm incredibly relieved that Ayaan will be safe by making this move. At least I hope she'll be safer and feel wanted although as someone pointed out, she'll still need to beware of Muslims 'on a mission' sent by 'The Brotherhood'. I realize this is a sorrowful time for her too, after establishing herself in one country, to again have to move.
But on the other hand, I'm relieved. I have been very worried since I heard the news her neighbours were complaining. After she's safe, I hope they sink in a tidal wave of Islamic immigration. They didn't want to listen and my respect for the Netherlands has gone through the floor. I'm disgusted with them. When in the Second World War the allies were parachuting into towns and villages in the Netherlands and Arnheim and being killed as they dropped, the Dutch were more than happy to be rescued. But their memories were very short.
I'm just jealous Ayaan is moving to the US. I had hoped she'd chose Canada but I can understand why she's thinking of immigrating to the US. I wish her all the best, wherever she goes and hope she'll finally find safe harbour.

It is hardly worth my time to point out that the Dutch are not typical of Europe at large - mowt Europeans do not murder infirm babies (a pleasing Dutch trait) or drive out victims of terrorism. Remember that my country gives full-time police protection to Magdi Allam - who is not even a politician - and has welcomed Abdel Rahman. The person who mentioned Hugo Chavez's visit to England has evidently fallen victim to Chavez's own lies: the visit, which was neither asked for nor welcomed by the British government, was "private", and the only public authority Chavez met in his two days over here has been Ken "stinking Jew-hater" Livingstone, who has driven another stake in the corpse of his reputation by preventing dozens of anti-Chavez demonstrators from attending the meeting, and then had the unmitigated gall to say that he met the buffoon because Venezuela's business will be important for London's financial centres! In fact, I believe that the only official meeting Chavez had since he came to Europe was with the Pope - who read him the riot act over violations of Church-State law.

Hirsi Ali deserves a land that appreciates her courage.
She found a temporary home in a place that loves short-term bravado, but doesn't seem to have the guts for the long run.
The loss is for the Dutch, who should rename 'De Rijn', the main river running though their country, 'De Nial', to match their delusional mindset.

This news both pleases and dismays me. On one hand, I'm pleased this champion of reason is coming to the US where hopefully her voice might help awaken the sleeping masses to the dangers of Islam. On the other hand, to see the Netherlands and Europe losing one of the prime voices in defence of freedom, and the way they are losing that voice, fills me with dread over the prospect of Europe's on going and now seemingly unpreventable fall to Islam.
The fall of Europe to Islam would be a disaster of unparalled magnitude for Western Civilization. And if Europe falls, the ability of "The Last Redoubt" to hold on would be gravely compromised.

For me, no convincing needed. Normally, I'm against America rescuing anybody from their own stupidity. Only problem is that this war can probably not be won unless and until Islam ceases to exist. For that, the US would have to end it everywhere - from Shetland Islands to Bandar Seri Begawan, and from Dakar to Astana (the capital of Kazakhstan).
If I agreed with Hugh that Islam should be isolated, I'd not really have a problem with them annexing Eurabia - I'd rather see Leftern Europe and dar-ul-Islam rolled into one, and our fighting one consolidated enemy.

I have never believed that western European attitudes were what they seemed. In my estimation, western Europeans believe that with America out of the way, THEY would be a world power again. It is my fervent wish that we Americans will be able to live up to the value her presence bestows upon us and our country.
What a pity that western Europe (mostly) wasn't able to perceive what she stands for (truth, courage, and liberty) and cherish that.
Overall, this is very bad news. Despite her many talents and not insignificant charms, and despite the honor she does this country by choosing to relocate here, Ms. Ali will only marginally help the fight against jihad here while crippling it in Holland. America already has its Robert Spencer's and Hugh Fitzgerald's and Daniel Pipes's and Andrew Bostom's capably carrying on the struggle against jihad and dhimmitude (including the self-imposed kind) online, in print, and on the air. On a related note this reminds me of the recent trend of economically upscale Dutch migrating to Australia and Canada thanks to the deteriorated living conditions years of mass Muslim immigration have produced. The latest news from Holland (by way of De Volksrkant newspaper) is a statement from minister Rita Verdonk that Ayaan Hirsi Ali may be forced to give up the Dutch nationality if it's indeed the case that she lied about her name and birthdates when she applies for political asylum and Dutch citizenship. This provision has been made law a couple of years ago and has been tested in Dutch courts in a case of an Iraqi family who provided false information as well and were stripped off their citizenship and expelled to Iraq.
Hirsi Ali has six weeks to defend herself against this allegation, but I don't think she'll even make an effort since she has admitted to lying during the asylum application on numerous occasionsm, both in her books and on national tv. Rita Verdonk will probably put the whole process in motion since Dutch law leaves her no way and she wants to keep true to her reputation of a hard liner. Last month there was a big row about the expulsion of a Bosnian young girl who wasn't allowed to finish her high school exams but had to go back to Sarajevo because she had returned to Netherlands on false grounds. Verdonk couldn't be swayed by appeals of pity, and the Hirsi Ali case will probably be no different. (It probably helps that Hirsi Ali has already given up fighting the system though).

I specialize in getting on the case of anyone that waxes anti-American. I've had to listen to that #@$! for too many years.
Part of the reason I have to spend hours of each day dedicated to this war is because of so many blind anti-Americans in this world that have helped perpetuate these problems. And don't get me wrong, we have plenty of anti-Americans living right here in the U.S.A., born and bred. God damn them.
