Chirac Wants World Bank to Funnel Cash to Palestinians

The prospect of ordinary Palestinians starving has the power to cloud men's minds, and make them forget that any dollar (or euro) sent to the PA will free up another dollar or euro to be spent on the jihad against Israel, and more murderous jihad terror attacks on Israeli civilians. The solution? Remove the Hamas government and replace it with one that explicitly renounces the global jihad and the imperative to destroy Israel. And of course, that will happen around the time that Al-Zarqawi knocks on my office door here and tells me that he has been involved in great evil, and wants to stop fighting jihad and become a crusader (heh) against the jihad ideology.

"France: Chirac Wants World Bank to Funnel Cash to Palestinians," from AKI, with thanks to Johnathan:

Paris, 28 April (AKI) - France will push for the World Bank to create a fund to pay the salaries of Palestinian officials, French president Jacques Chirac said Friday after he met Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. France will raise the issue during talks on May 9 with the so-called "Quartet" - the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia - the negotiating group which is attempting to revive the stalled Israeli-Palestinian "Road Map" peace plan, Chirac's spokesman Jerome Bonnafont, was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

Chirac's call comes after France and other EU nations earlier this month cut off direct aid to the Palestinian Authority (PA) government after Hamas' election victory. The European Union is the largest donor to the Palestinians, with aid totaling more than 600 million dollars a year.

The EU said its decision was prompted by Hamas failure to meet three international conditions: recognise Israel, denounce terrorism and honour previous international agreements made by the PA.

The PA is facing enconomic collapse with the government unable to pay salaries to 165,000 Palestinian government employees.

France believes aid "must be maintained for humanitarian reasons, as well as for political reasons," Chirac said before going into the talks with Abbas. "And it will push for this continuance (of aid) within the international community and notably within the European Union."

That Palestinian state? How about on the French Riviera?

Oops, that's already taken. By the Mediterranean people from Algiers.

Last night on NPR, a long piece on the impending crisis in the Palestinian Authority. The US policy to deny Hamas and the PA funds will have disastrous consequences, the bobble-heads all said. Not a hint of why Hamas should never receive any funds from anyone, at any time, ever. Even worse was the unquestioned, invisible but all pervasive assumption that we somehow owed these people the money to play their games. Not a single one of the talking bobble-heads could step out of their corporate mindset for even a nanosecond to consider that may be Arabs of Palestine needed to change their ways if they wanted to make money, and afford their socialist jihad lifestyle. Kultursmog, indeed.

What exactly did all of the milions and millions of dollars, poured down this rathole, get us so far?

Other than a terrorist organization voted into power?

Seems like a bad return on the investment.

Let Saudi Arabia and Dubai and Qatar and Kuwait pay for their cousins for the next 25 years, and see how they enjoy funding infernal folly.

Even Hollywood can't make this stuff up. While they are at it, why not have the World Bank and IMF funnel money to the neo-Nazis? It's too bad Pol Pot and Idi Amin aren't around to cash in as well. If the UN existed in 1933, would Hitler have received a stipend from these guys?

I think Chirac sucking up to the Muslims in France just made my ears pop.

Chirac has no redeeming features at all.

Hulegu:

Hollywood can and does make stuff like this up (political propaganda romanticizing "causes"), which is one of the reasons why we get so damned many bobble-heads in the media boo-hoo-hooing over the poor starving Palestinians.

Ridiculous. Where on Allah's flat earth are the Saudis when their Arab brethren need them? Is not being Saudi "not Arab enough" either?

One might recall that the wealthy oil countries in the Arab world drew criticism for being asleep at the switch after the 2004 tsunami as well. Not to mention Somalia, whose refugee camp conditions the UN envoy called the worst he's ever seen.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/africa/05/02/somalia.refugees.ap/index.html

And, of course, Sudan.

I guess when there's infidels to slay and subdue, money is no object, but when it's just some humanitarian thing: *shrug* Hey, Allah's will, y'know.

Chirac and all leaders who think we OWE Pali's anything is stark raving stupid. The Pali's made their bed and now they have to lie in it.

Why should anyone support flat out criminals? Why doesn't he just ask the Israeli's to stand in line and be shot and get it over with?

These people have no redeemeing value. All they want to do is kill Israeli's. And when you think about it, they would love to kill anyone who isn't a muslim.

I would venture that the suprior Arab master race, those most nobly blessed under Allah, the benevolent, illlminated, considerate carers for mankind don't give a camels curse for the inferior muslims of Palestine. If they cared why are we here right now?

Chirac is also a slimey two faced chancer...what's in it for him?

What is in it for Chirac, come now, perhaps another 30 days without major riots in France if he is lucky...

Yes,,how come no one wonders where all that other aid money went to? Arafat's bank account, so his widow can live in luxury in France.Let other rich muslim nations pay for them. They have achieved no viable economy with all the help they have had, and now are making a mess of the Gush Kativ settlement which the Israeli's had developed into a cornucopia of food and flowers

Chirac is a politician with no morals. France has been sold to the muslims immigrants under the noses of the French people who now have to deal with riots etc etc.

France is really the whore of Europe: don't forget the Vichy government!

I hope this dumb idea doesn't get off the ground.

Google "Chirac" and "Kniphausen hawk" and "Posted by Hugh."

No more money from any civilized country....let them create their own infrastructure.
We from the US should insist on our leaders taking care of our own people, I heard this morning that SSI is going to be broke by 2040. (I think we only have IOU's now) We can not buy friends, or rent them. We should take care of our own first.

Just wondering:

Why is Chirac so concerned about the Pali's?

Whats in it for him, and whats in it for France?

"What's in it for him..."
-- from a posting above

Fric, dindi, moolah, the green stuff.

It's the equivalent of giving financial aid to Hitler whilst he was in the process of invading France. Chirac is obviously corrupt, he has not only sold out his own country but is trying to help the new Nazi party.

Hey this isn't news. I posted a link to this a few days ago! I want credit too!

By the way, Hugh Fitzgerald had come to a similar conclusion that Europe is paying jiziya. Wouldn't this amount to a jiziya tax to Muslims by way of the Palestinian Authority. I think so.

In my post mentioning this it was off the subject of the general article, but some others have come to similar conclusions about the role of the Saudis in the World Bank fund which the article makes no mention of them an their involvement in the Chirac request or program.

Pardon my infinitesimal compassion, but I don't care if the Palestinians go broke, stay broke, and eventually disintegrate into thin air. How long is the world supposed to support this ever growing horde of savages? Isn't fifty-eight years long enough?

Let their muslim brothers pay their salaries, feed their infinite spawn, and buy their bombs. This travesty should have ended decades ago, but there is no end in sight.

LOL

Les Francais ils sont vils.

Exactly why the rich Arabs are not paying for the poor Arabs has not been made clear. The leaders of the Western world should, when asked for handouts from the "Palestinians" or any other Muslims, as if it were an Infidel duty to supply this Jizyah, should raise eyebrows, and motion toward Riyadh.

The "Palestinian" construct is not economically viable. There are no resources. There is no will to work. Inshallah-fatalism, and an entire society geared to fighting and hatred, has no time left to acquire skills. Much of the population does nothing but has been absorbed in into the "security services" (of which there are at least a dozen separate groups). Those "security services" have one goal: making war on Israel, and policing the population so that it is better able to make war on Israel. Economic activity, save of the most primitive kind, does not and can not take place. Inshallah-fatalism, the kind exhibitied in all Muslim societies, even those not on a permanent war footing, as is that of the "Palestinian" Arabs who are the shock troops of the Lesser Jihad, and that explain the complete failure to establish modern economies despite the ten trillion dollars in oil and gas revenues. In much the same way, Algeria has not been able to develop an economoy, but has managed to destroy what the French had built up and left them, partly becdause of corruption and inshallah-fatalism, partly because of the internal warfare between the "immoderate" Muslims and the others.

There are, then, three very good reasons why no Western aid should be given to Muslims. These are:

1) such aid is received, and also by now is given, in the spirit of the Jizyah. The Muslim recipient believes he has a right to such aid, and is not grateful for it, but rather, as the recent behavior of the "Palestinians" shows, outraged if such aid is not forthcoming. The Infidel donor behaves as if it is right and proper that he should continue to give such aid no matter how hostile the recipient may be, except in the most egregious case (as with the openly-declared terrorism of Hamas). The fact that should the Hamas-run "Palestinian" authority simply modify a few words, that the spigot of Jizya-aid would again be turned on, or if that Hamas-run government were to fall and another, identical in goals and determination to pursue the Lesser Jihad against Israel as an Infidel state, but differing only in the time-frame, and choice of most effective current methods, for achieving that goal, the American and other Infidel governments would apparently turn that spigot of Jizyah-aid on again themselves, as if they were somehow obligated to. But they are not. It is absurd, and even more absurd with the trillions flowing into fellow Arab Muslim states, and the billions now being spent all over the Western world on security measures made necessary by the large-scale presence of Muslims within Infidel lands, for Western Infidel taxpayers to fund, at all, anywhere, any Muslim polity or people.

2) Such aid continues to allow the "Palestinians" to conduct the Lesser JIhad. The distinction, for a group on a permanent war footing, between "humanitarian" and other kinds of aid is a false one. Any aid given will simply allow the diversion of funds to pay for weaponry (of which every day brings news of shipments of arms, or use of such arms -- where is the money for that coming from, if not being diverted because basic needs, it is certain, will always be covered by foreign donors? Were there really absolute scraping-of-the-bottom of the barrel, there would not be so much money left over for terrorism and war, not for the guns, the explosives, the Qasserm rockets, and of course the tens of thousands of men in uniform, who do nothing productive, but are involved full-time either in training or war-making or war-planning. Take away that Infidel aid permanently, and see how long funds can be plowed into all those "Palestinian security services" and assorted armies and terrorist groups. The "Palestianian" entity is not and never will be economicaly (or otherwise) viable. It will always depend on aid from outside. It is kept alive, just as the "Palestinian people" fiction is kept alive, as a way to make war on Israel -- a war that can be presented as plausible to the outside world (not that that outside world requires much plausibility). It is a polity on the permanent dole. Let that dole be an Arab dole, paid for by rich Arabs. Let them decide just how much money they wish to flow into the shock troops of the Lesser Jihad. Some will promise, but others grow weary. And in growing weary, Muslims outside may become, over time, less enthusiastic about this Jihad.

3) anything which heightens the consciousness of poor Arabs about the fabulous wealth of the rich Arabs, and the extraordinary selfishness of those rich Arabs, who supposedly exhibit a loyalty not to the nation-state but to fellow Arabs and fellow members of the umma al-islamiyya. One of the phony claims of Muslim spokesmen in the West is all about the "social justice" of Islam, in supposed contrast to the heartless capitalism of that Infidel West. Let that be made clear in the Infidel lands, so as to dent the false perception among the eocnomicaly marginal, who are among the special targets of Da'wa, that Islam offers greater fairness in the distribution of wealth. It doesn't, and a trip to Saudi Arabia would quickly disabuse anyone of that idea. Still better would be a trip to Saudi Arabia, and then one to Yemen or Egypt, to compare the lives of the Arab rich with that of the Arab poor.

By forcing the "Palestinian" Arabs to ask for aid from fellow Arabs, and being constantly disapointed with the results, economic divisions within the camp of Islam, and the phoniness of the supposed "generosity" that Muslims offer other Muslims, can be shown up, permanently. It is one more division within Islam, that between rich Muslims and poor Muslims, and since the rich Muslims who whatever lip service they give pan-Islamic or pan-Arab solidarity, have no intention of sharing their wealth either with other Muslims (which is why rich Saudis, Kuwaitis, and others are not so contemputous of the idea of their own nation-states -- it's thweir ticket to money, and they're not about to share it with Yemen, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, or for that matter, save for a few hundreds of millions, less than a day's unmerited revenues, with the so-called "Palestinians"),

Intelligent makers of policy in the Western world should be trying to exploit all three of th emajor fissures within Islam.

These are:

1) Sectarian -- that is, between Sunni and Shi'a (the Ibadi Muslims of Oman, and scattered here and there in North Africa, hardly count)

2) Ethnic -- the oppression of Kurds, Berbers, black African Muslims, and the memories of cultural and linguistic imperialism still vivid in Iran and even in Malaysia and Indonesia, needs to be emphasized, and Islam as a vehicle for Arab supremacism should be a constant topic.

3) Financial - the contrast between Muslim rich and Muslim poor astounds. Resentment of the latter against the former -- after all, isn't the umma al-islamiyya supposed to be one big happy community, each helping each? -- should be encouraged. Forcing the "Palestinians" to get their aid from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and so on should not be prevented. Let's see how generous those Arabs -- the same ones who, incidentally, have so far refused James Baker's entreaties to cancel Iraq's debt (well, let them refuse to cancel it -- the Iraqis will never pay it back, and they can continue to hold it against those other Arabs).

Think, Pentagon and State Department, think.

No more jizyah, I have infidel decadence that needs funding.Just say no and get the jizyah monkey off our collective back. If the Palestinians haven't improved by now they never will, rational and sane people everywhere know and see, time to wipe our hands and walk away.
If the Ummah is so grand, so bursting with fraternal love as all the dawah literature I have enjoyed proclaims, then lets see Islamic fraternal love in action. (I am not holding my breath.)
Hugh is right, too right about Islam being nothing but Arab imperialism, the most pathethic example being all the Indonesian and Malay Muslims parading around like Gulf Arabs in the tropical climate they live in.We would be wise to point that out, but alas we are stuck chasing mythical moderate Islam and reform that will never come, pouring ever increasing amounts of blood and money, down an ever widening and deeping chasm.
I am all for wise stewardship of money and jizyah needs to go from all Western budgets. Maybe instead wasting time and money building infrastucture in the Middle east we could repair the crumbling Eishenhower era infrastructure here in America. I am sure France and Europe could find better things to fund than Jizyah.
