EU offers Iran access to 'safe' nuclear technology

One man's incentive is another man's tribute. A nation that offers incentives lacks the will to stand up and defend itself, come what may. Aethelred the Unready and Neville Chamberlain can bear witness. Peace In Our Time Alert from the TimesOnline, with thanks to JE:

Europe will help Iran to develop a "proliferation-proof" nuclear power programme in exchange for the regime agreeing to halt uranium enrichment on its own soil.

The offer is one of a series of incentives unveiled in Brussels today which are designed to succeed in reining in the Islamic republic where the faltering threat of sanctions has failed.

In advance of a general meeting of EU foreign ministers this afternoon Javier Solana, the EU's foreign policy chief, told reporters that the package would include also include financial aid and possibly defence assistance.

Does that mean that the EU is offering to help Iran fight Israel and the U.S.?

The next year, Æthelred sued for peace, promising the Vikings tribute and provisions. "And nonetheless for all this truce and peace and tax, they travelled about everywhere in bands and raided and roped up and killed our wretched people."

Iran's excuse for wanting to build nuclear power plants is that it wants to "free up" the oil it uses for itself and export that. Naturally, that is the most absurd thing Iran has ever stated. The percentage of Iran's oil that is used by Iran to actually run power stations, is practically nil.

This is why the world knows for a fact that Iran is seeking nuclear wherewithall for the purpose of weapons.

Any child can figure that out. The Europeans know this as well. But they are helping Iran to have a nuclear power plant anyway. So yes, the Europeans are willfully appeasing Iran's nuclear ambitions in a backhanded way.

Nothing the EU does, should ever surprise me, it is an organisation founded and propogated on the back of a complete lack of common sense and welded to an elitist undemocratic PC dogma.

Does this defence bit include imparting information to enable the Iranians to produce even more effective IED's to kill Britsh and Danish soldiers.

They are so utterly pathetic that it defies description, this and the news about Universities in the UK pushing extreme Islam says it all about Europe. At one point I would have been proud to be British and a European, now I just feel acute embarrassment.

The Belgian government has now decided that anyone who was criticising Islam is responsible for that sick rampage by a deranged gunman.

If I was writing comedy there would be so much material, if you could get someone to publish it of course in case it upsets one man and a dog.

But amazingly I saw the first bit of reporting of the Muslim persecution of Christians in the Middle East on TF1 last night as Chirac was meeting a Maronite Bishop, I actually fell off my chair in shock and almost had an asthma attack.

My wife keeps on telling me that they are aware and that they can't be overt and are moving slowly, well if it was much slower they would be going backwards, well actually they are.

Sorry for the rant...

The EU has not given up on the potential of appeasement to bring a lasting peace.

Just because it didn't work that time... or that time... or that other time, or that one, or that one, or that one...

"Defence assistance" would almost certainly include guided missiles to shoot down U.S. warplanes and to attack U.S. warships. The European logic, I suppose, is that providing these advanced weapons would be a calming effect on the Iranian leaders, so that they would "not feel as threatened" by those runamuck zionist cowboys.

The Iranian president already said he will refuse any offer regardless of how generous an offer, he wants to start a war were he is the victim. Like I said before Muslims are great at making themselves look like the victim.

The reference to "defence assistance" alludes to the position held by the EU and revealed by the UK's former Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, who in a typically desperate moment blurted:

"If you want to see a nuclear-free Middle East, you've got to remove that threat from Iran, including the rhetorical threat to wipe Israel off the face of the map. Once you've done that, then we can get on to work in respect of Israel."

In other words, watch for promises to Iran on how the EU will lean on Israel -- presumably through political and economic pressure leading ultimately to UN resolutions -- to surrender her nuclear arsenal. And all the mullahs will have to do is promise (cross their hearts and hope to die) that they will abandon uranium enrichment.

The stupidity index of the EU never ceases to amaze me.

Jeez, first Ali and now this. The stupidity and dhimmitude of the EU knows no bounds. Now they are offering defence assitance to this criminal rogue state? Can we even consider Europe an ally these days?

Grim times getting grimmer.

This is how Hitler got such a good stronghold.

They are being lazy and stupid. Maybe one of their concessions for Iran is just don't attack us!

Surely the EU is not stupid and deaf after Ammadinejad has stated he wanted to blow Israel off the map. Maybe they have selective hearing, I don't know. Sounds to me like they are committing a slow suicide.

I spoke with a retiree from USAF intelligence the other day.

Glass farm. The limits of self-delusion and Karl stupidity do indeed exist, and that boundary exists at the edge of physics, where energy meets matter and chemistry plays no part.

And they're talking glass farm.

Hold your horses, the Iranians already rejected it.

Maybe America should nuke the Europeans first. They'll never do anything to help us.

I guess Europe will send Iran that special type of uranium that isn't radioactive?

Stendec-

If I ever changed my Type Key name, it'll be to

Runamuck Zionist Cowboy!

LOL!

(Or Maybe Cat Mohammed Abdul Schmucksupreme Stevens could use it for his next band's name?)

The EU is the most corrupt group on the planet. Apparently costing up to £6 billion a year in fraud. However, the people who make the laws for the EU are the ones lining their own pockets. Tony Blair has dragged our country into the EU with no care for the wishes of the population of the UK. Now my country is overrun with benefit thieves. Sadly the only option left for the UK to remain free is the BNP.
