Elected officials fear that a culture of political violence is emerging in Denmark after a firebomb was thrown at the home of a councillor in the city of Korsør in western Zealand on Monday night.The bomb missed its target, and Fritz Neumann, a member of the Danish People's Party, and his family escaped unharmed, but police say the attack is just the latest in a string of similar incidents.
Six other city council members in Korsør have received written and electronic threats signed 'Allah is great' and 'Al Qaeda-network' in the past three months. Police believe they were related and could have to do with a rejected application for asylum....
Monday's attempted arson brought back memories of a similar attack on the home of the minister of integration, Rikke Hvilshøj, last year. In two separate incidents, police also recently arrested young men who issued death threats to PM Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Social Liberal MP Naser Khader.

Political observers were unable to single out a motive for the attacks. Many of the incidents have targeted right-of-centre politicians, but they dismissed the idea that left-wing militants could be the source.
Of course, the Right has generally been less afraid than the Left to speak about the real roots of jihad violence, and the societal upheaval caused by massive Muslim immigration into Europe, but that doesn't occur to the paper as possibly having anything to do with this.

There is a slow build of consensus among people across the west that Islam is the problem, but it is not a tidal wave yet. The Danes have a much smaller Muslim population than France and Holland. Perhaps they can afford multicultural self-deceptions a little longer. The Dutch are beginning to face it, whereas France may be beyond salvation. Their situation reminds me of the 1930's, except the Nazi menace is inside the gates.

Danish police are searching for unknown attackers who set fire to the immigration minister's car. Rikke Hvilshoj, her husband and two young children were rescued from their house, which also caught fire as a result of the attack. A group calling itself "Beatte Without Borders" has said it carried out the attack, condemning the government's "racist immigration policy". An activist group calling itself 'The Action Group Extreme Beate' sent an email to the media, accepting responsibility for the act, which resembles a similar attack on the director of the Immigration Service, Grethe Løgstrup, in the fall of 2000. Police told daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende they were interested in speaking with at least one of the people behind the attack on Løgstrup. The group also attacked another immigration official and threw two Molotov cocktails into the service headquarters. Nobody was hurt in the attacks, but the activists served up to three years in prison. Actually, Denmark offers perhaps the only real glimmer of hope in Western Europe. We should be supporting them, not criticizing and ridiculing them.

I think the ridicule here is aimed not at "Denmark" but at the "Political observers" who "were unable to single out a motive for the attacks".
Denmark has, indeed, got some of the toughest immigration laws in Europe, if that's what you mean.

Since 2001 the Danes have made a serious attempt to stop the aggressive immigrant tactic by which Muslims habitually marry their children to cousins living in the country of origin. The government now insists both parties are over 24, the Danish citizen has £5000 in the bank and there are adequate guarantees of ability to house and support the spouse. It's interesting to see how this has sparked a little fury. I only wish they'd introduce such rules in the UK where this chain migration is having pernicious effects.
On the subject of Londonistan, why is that name used? "Stan" typically means a state, or country, but would London, despite its population, qualify as one? One would think "Londonabad" would be more appropriate, since it would convey the same meaning, and not include heavily Muslim areas outside the city like Bradford, Blackburn, Leeds, et al. Anyway, my knowledge of British geography is pretty lame, so I might as well quit while I'm ahead.

As a UK citizen I find London a really alien place, it has it's own character and is totally unlike the rest of Britain. It could - and maybe in the future should be - declared a state in it's own right leaving the rest of England to get on with being....... well England.

You are right. Denmark is the one country in the Western world that has the right attitude on immigration of muslims to Denmark or the acquistion of Danish citizenship. This it started to do even before 9/11.
If we emulate Denmark in the matter of immigration of muslims or citizenship, we will be well on the way to defeating the Jihad, as number of muslims in the West, is the most crucial element in this war.

Wait a minute - I'm Methodist.
I have some bad thoughts. I think Denmark and Norway are the possible targets of a dirty suitcase bomb. In my city, there were rallies and demonstrations by muslims over the cartoons. They were carrying printed signs (not handmade)that read "Denmark Norway Go To Hell". I managed to get one a muslim child had dropped (they did not throw the signs after the rally,but stored them in their mosques). There was the address of the printer on the sign. The signs were printed in the capital of India, New Delhi. You get this? ALL the signs in ALL the cities across India were printed at one place. The demonstrations were organized by the head imam of India, abdullan bukhari. The security agencies are finding out where the money came from for such uniform demonstrations across the land. Most probably from saudi arabia. Will let you know when that happens. In the meantime, watch out Denmark. Watch out Norway.
For once it was not the muslims that did the attack, but a divorced couple who was very pissed because the city counsil had taken their kid away (and this kinda proves that the city counsil was right in removing the kid from the parents)....
And for the record the dhimmitude in Denmark has never been so low as it is these days, we take no crap from the muslims. The imams has all been expelled from any influence whatsoever, even the newspapers wont have much to do with them any more... And unlike England we actually expell the criminal muslims when they have been so judged...
Europe is lost. They've compounded massive fiscal issues (brought on by socialist policies) by allowing unfettered immigration of a group of people that hate them and want to overthrow them.
Either Europe will wither and die (hopefully getting rid of their nukes before Islamists get their hands on them) or there will be a serious political shift in the region, possibly into radical right-wing, National Socialist-type systems. Either way, Europe has very serious issues now, and seems totally unable to address them except via radical political upheaval.
