EL-ARISH, Egypt (Reuters) - Four men wanted in connection with bombings that killed 20 people in the Sinai resort of Dahab last month have turned themselves in, security sources said on Friday.The surrenders came shortly after police killed Nasr Khamis el-Milahi, a man the Interior Ministry named as the leader of a group it blames for a series of attacks in Sinai since October 2004, and the arrest of his assistant in a gunbattle on Tuesday.
"The four wanted men turned themselves in, and they are Naif Ibrahim Saleh Ameira, Abdel Gadr Suweilim Suleiman, Ismail Salama Ouda Hussein, and Hatem Musellem Rasheed el-Atrash," a security official who declined to be named said....
The men were part of a group of 25 wanted people, including farmers and religious leaders, security sources said, adding some of the group were being sought in connection with bombings in Taba and other nearby resorts in 2004....
Authorities have blamed a group called Tawhid wal Jihad (One God and Jihad) for a series of attacks in Sinai since October 2004, and say that 15 of its members are currently on trial.
They describe it as a group of Sinai Bedouin with militant Islamist views, though the group itself has never issued a statement or claimed responsibility for attacks.
Funny how they round 'em up so fast, kill the ringleader etc. I used to live in Egypt - their armed forces might be a joke but their security forces are masters of torture. They get the info and you don't want to know how... (if you don't have much oil, tourism is still sacred).
Bush has pressured Egypt for 'more democracy' and an end to routine torture etc. For decades that is the ONLY way Mubarak kept the Muslim Brotherhood in line. Bush's 'democracy' will bring the same blessings as it did to 'Palestine'.
If it weren't for the helpless Copts, I'd actually be in favor of Hasan al Bana's thugs taking over. That way, all the illusions are off, US no longer has to pay a Jiziya to Cairo (might have made sense during the Cold War, but doesn't any longer), and the Israelis get to be told openly by Cairo that they have an enemy to their West.
Given the hostility of the Egyptian Muslim populace towards both Israel and the US, and the fact that al Qaeda tends to discriminate in favor of Egyptians in their top ranks, the sooner that Egypt openly becomes a vassal of Saudi Arabia, the better. Otherwise, Mubarak's regime merely serves to be a taqiyya interface between Cairo and dar-ul-Harb.

The Jihad is last meritocratic enterprise in Islamic world. Egyptian are favored in the upper ranks of the global Jihadi leadership because in terms of both quantity and quality overshadow most other nationalities. It is tragic that the intelligence and the love of learning that Muslim Egyptians inherited from their Coptic forbearers are being turned against the Copts and the entire World. Islam is so satanic: it turns your brother into your worst enemy who is thirsting for your blood; it takes everything that is descent and beautiful and it turns into and an abomination, an evil monstrosity with its jaws opens to devour all.
