Tehran, Iran, May 19 – A senior Iranian cleric accused the United States on Friday of targeting Iran’s borders and masterminding attacks in the south of the country.“The enemy has planned to create insecurity in the country’s border regions”, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani told Friday prayers worshippers in Tehran. His remarks were aired on state television.
“Our enemies, which are the United States and Zionists, have targeted Iran’s border security, economy, universities, and science”, he said, adding that the U.S.’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was behind such activities.

What universities?? What science??? If Iran had any of those things, Iranians wouldn't need to come to America to be educated, and they wouldn't have to buy "science" (read nuclear technology) from everyone else in the world!

Lavrov Calls for Unconditional Negotiations with Iran
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that nuclear negotiations with Iran should be held without any preconditions.
Lavrov stressed that Moscow is against imposing sanctions or resorting to force against Iran.
He added that Russia believes Iran's nuclear case should only be solved through holding direct talks, and in accordance with a mutual agreement, which would secure Iran's right to gain access to peaceful nuclear plans and activities.
He insisted Iran's nuclear dispute should be resolved in such a manner that would secure Iran's full-scale cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Meanwhile, the meeting of the 5+1 Group is due to be held in London next Wednesday to discuss Iran's nuclear case.
also from FARS:Speaking at a congress entitled 'Youths' National Vigilance, Public-Based Organizations and Nuclear Energy', Mustafa Pour-Mohammadi said that the country's access to nuclear technology has been a product of the youths' logical and scientific evolution which yielded fruit as a result of public support, political back-up and practical efforts.
He continued, "Enemies are not afraid of Iran's access to nuclear technology or production of nuclear weapons, they are rather worried about production of new sciences in Iran."
Noting the significant role that the youth have taken up in the country's scientific developments, he stressed that enemies have plans to impede the Iranian youths' progress at different scenes, and stressed that national vigilance is one of the major instruments to defuse the enemies' plots.
The Minister also stated that Iran is a manifestation of the rule of the elite and the middle classes of the society, where these two are the most influential in directing the behavior of the government.
Stating that the present generation is capable of producing knowledge and science for the next 50 years, he said that at present more than 800 theses are compiled on new technologies in the country.

A federal judge in Louisville, Kentucky, granted a temporary restraining order prohibiting a prayer from being said during graduation ceremonies at an area high school after a Muslim student on the planning committee objected and garnered the help of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Arshiya Saiyed, a senior at Russell County High School, said she was working on plans for the ceremony, scheduled for last night, with the senior panel when the issue came up, according to WHAS-TV in Louisville.
"Terms like Jesus Christ, heavenly father, I talked about the fact I was Muslim and the prayers in the past were offensive to me," the 17-year-old said.

Your 'science'. I have yet to come across the invention of a simple office pin by a muslim. You can only steal inventions of civilizations. You cannot even operate and build your own oil rigs. You cannot make the most basic of drugs to cure your sick. You can make only heroin.

The Ottoman Empire came to an end during World War I. The Persian Empire still can be glimpsed in the populations that now are controlled by the Islamic Republic of Iran. And while the Kurds may, in a sense, be described as "on the borders" and so can the Arabs of Khuzistan, the Azeris and the Baluchis could not. And all four of these non-Persian peoples could, with outside military aid, make thinks difficult for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
If the charge that "the enemy [the United States] has planned to create insecurity in the country's border regions" turns out to be true, that would be a good sign that the decision has been made to divide and demoralize the camp of Islam, and individual Muslim countries within that camp, by appealing to whatever divisions - sectarian or economic or ethnic -- pre-exist.
Members of the Islamic Republic of Iran and those within Iran not in the government who have rallied round the nuclear project out of nationalist pride, should be made to understand that Iran does not merely face an attack on those nuclear installations, but possible slow dismemberment. Take away the Kurds, the Arabs, the Azeris, the Baluchis, who constitute 50% of the population, take away the land area those minorities control, take away the oil under Khuzistan, and that would be that.

Iran just can't let a day go by without seeking a press release. Whine, threaten, whine some more, threaten some more and it never stops. Too bad their brain and heart and intelligence is not as big as their egos.
Iran is helping the enemy in Iraq and they have not earned any rights to saying they do not like something we do. They can go............ (insert passionate dislike phrases here).

one of the dangerous things about today's Iran is how skillfully they use psychological warfare, although it may seem crude to better informed, more sophisticated folks. Yet I believe that it is effective. Note the double talk in Ahmadinajad's pronouncements. Sometimes he talks in terms of liberal, democratic universalistic value, sometimes it is the narrow Muslim interest. This tactic was used by Goebbels too.
I saw on the news today where the Bush Administration wants to deploy anti-missle batteries in Europe to knock down any incoming nuke from Iran.
That tells you that Bush is conceding the atomic bomb to Iran just as he backed down to North Korea. He is preparing for the day when Iran has the nuke because he knows he will do nothing to stop them in the end.
