BERLIN – A serious anti-Semitic assault took place in Berlin last week, when an Israeli medical student was attacked at night by a group of young women after they heard her talking in Hebrew on her mobile phone. The Israeli woman was beaten and wounded.The incident happened last week after the 26 year-old student attended a party at the house of friends in the Steglitz neighborhood in south-west Berlin, where a large Muslim community resides. At about 2 a.m., the woman, who holds a dual Israeli-German citizenship, decided to walk back to her apartment after she missed the last bus home, Israel's leading daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
While she was walking home and holding a conversation in Hebrew with a friend from Israel on her cellular phone, the student passed by a group of young women.
When they recognized the language the student was speaking as Hebrew, one of the girls suddenly walked up to the Israeli woman and slapped her in the face. The other women then joined in, pulled her hair, beat her up and kicked her. The abuse eventually stopped when the attackers thought they heard a police car approaching, and they fled the scene....
The women's identity has not been established thus far, but they were apparently Muslim.
Of course, it's easier and safer for female Muslims to confront, in a pack, a lone woman who has done them no harm than to confront the men who do them harm every day.

Truly a sign that islam must be banned in all right thinking countries. There are enough islamic countries they can be deported to, they would be happier there and our countries would be safer without them. Alternatively we must instigate harsher laws for muslims.

Lots of things don't make it to any national news anywhere, if it's to do with Islamic mayhem. The media turns away and pretends nothing is happening, when it's cases like this. Only when it becomes so outrageous that they can't ignore it any more, will they give it a mention. And even then, they'll spin the story to make it more sympathetic to those ... "poor immigrant youths" you mention. Or the "insurgents" or "freedom fighters". They'll find someone or something else to blame.
Even that horrifying murder of Atwar Bahjat is not being reported all that much on regular news. It's outrageous that after 9/11, Bali, Madrid, 7/7, and all the other horrifying brutality that Islam has wreaked on the world, that we go out of our way to pretend there's nothing wrong. The worse Islam acts, the more we protect it. It's insane.
If we place the blame on Muslims they may get mad and riot. We wouldn't want to make them angry now would we? I thought not. Go back to sleep now and dream of the religion of peace. Peaceful dreams?

These "women" will not be in trouble with their husbands over the burkhas/hajibs: by all means they wear them because they are a perfect way to avoid identification by victims, witnesses and police.
I don't know if these attackers wore them or not, but imagine the nerve of Muslims in USA who refuse to take them off for driver's license photos. Worse yet is the dhimmitude of bureaucrats and politicians who won't stand up to them. It's despicable and suicidal.

I saw your posts about your ethical struggles with violence on the beheading video thread. I too have had this struggle. I am comforted by the saying in the Talmud, "If a man comes to kill you, kill him first." It is too bad that the world is such that we cannot eschew violence entirely. It would be good if we could always live in harmony but that is not the condition of the world. So, self defence is mandatory.

I don't know if the police actually arrested anybody. But I could not find any indication that arrests had been made (Somebody, please post a source to an arrest if there is one). I think the police closed the investigation as a robbery, but I suspect they may have done that under political pressure to avoid further religious tensions. Perhaps it is stuff like this article,

This attack was not anti-Semitic. It was Jew-hatred, plain and simple. I don’t know why people keep using the term “anti-Semitic”. It disguises what is really going on.
Anti-semitism means hatred for Jews, it is a 19th century word coined by Wilhelm Marr a German anti-semite who wanted to make his hatred sound scientific.
The word has never meant hate for semitic groups, besides Semite refers to a linguistic, not ethnic grouping, the Jews have closer blood relations with Armenians, and Kurds then with Arabs, they are connected linguistically, not ethnically.

Israeli beaten in Berlin
An Israeli woman was beaten up by a gang of girls in a shopping arcade in Berlin in what appears to be a xenophobic crime.
The 26-year-old medical student had been making her way home after a late-night party April 30 and chose to take a short-cut through the well-lit arcade. When a passing group of girls heard the woman speaking Hebrew on her cell phone, one of them “suddenly left the group and hit me in the face without warning,” the student, a former Israeli army officer who has roots in Germany, told the Tagesspiegel newspaper. Another girl then asked her nationality.
The girls pulled her hair, kicked and beat her, then fled when they thought police were coming. The victim was treated for minor injuries. Police have no suspects.
Sadly this is only the tip of the ice burg. In fact I am surprised that the German media reported it. I thought that the standard operating procedure for the MSM in this situation is to ignore it under the “we don’t want to incite violence against the Religion of Peace” excuse. One day this sort of thing will not be reported because it will be too commonplace.

Hi Daddyphil - By 14:00 hrs on 9-11, I was in a police car assigned to roving patrol specifically protecting convenience stores operated by Islamic, Sikh and Hindu merchants.The Department was concerned that yahoos would storm businesses with "foreign" staff. It was the quietest and eeriest 10 hours I spent in 25 years of police service. I had to ask myself, what would things have been like for western merchants in an Islamic country under attack by "crusaders?" Would they have needed special protection? Almost certainly. Would they have been afforded it? I kind of doubt it. Subsequent to 9-11, a small number of outrages have occurred, but by and large we are a tolerant nation - perhaps tolerant to a fault.
Aha! So now it's thugs in purdah and headscarves. All the more reason for banning clothing that might inhibit identification. Perhaps we shouldn't stop at just outlawing purdah in schools.
Muslim men, take heed. Time to treat your muslim sisters as equals in crime.

Well, like you "daddyphil" I live in the US and as far as violence against Muslims, while there were some incidents after 9-11, the amount was quite small when you consider that the Muslim terrorists were thought to have killed 50,000. The police were even guarding some of the mosques after they recieved threats. If the situation had been reversed, Americans in a Muslim country would have been lynched and ethnically cleansed. As far as black and white America, that is more media hype. The US media loves to stir the pot of race. Most all of the blacks and whites here are just living their lives going to school, work and raising a family. Nobody is going around thinking there is a divide. Truth is not many countries try to be as racially sensitive and equal as the USA except Canada, many parts of Europe and Australia. As a matter of fact, it's the Western nations that strive for equality and inclusiveness, not the Muslims who are very discriminatory.
