Now, a teenager faces disorderly conduct charges after causing a disturbance at Buffalo Niagara International Airport last night.Authorities say the 16-year-old boy (Alif Chowdhury) from Garden City, Long Island was with his father (Ehsan Chowdhury) waiting outside a terminal prior to their flight to J-F-K Airport.
Passers-by became suspicious of the youth's behavior and alerted airport police. The teen -- who was dressed in a white robe-like garment -- became agitated while officers questioned his father.
Officials say he said he wasn't afraid to die and tried to pull something out of his backpack.
The officers subdued the youth, who was carrying cell phones in the backpack but nothing dangerous.
Seems as if he wanted suicide by cop. That's what he meant by Time To Die. But Chaudry, if it is spelled that way, is a hindu name. Was this boy a muslim?
No, this is one of the few names used by both Hindus and Muslims. When you have a Muslim first name, like Alif, there's no doubt about what he is. He could be from either Pakistan or Bangladesh, but from the father's first name 'Ehsan', I suspect the latter.
Why can't both simply be put on the next flight to Dacca?
Another example would be Patel.
Cell phones? Did anyone check out what numbers were on them? Or who they were being brought to or from?
Huh? They are used as detonators for explosive devices, after all.

After all, this young gentleman has opened the door, so the Police might as well make sure that nothing dangerous is lurking inside. Then again, perhaps he is just a garden-variety jackass. For his next trick, Alif will kick this pitbull in the nuts.

Spencer has the right attitude. He's never giving up, not even if one day the West is reduced to some tiny mountain redoubt and he has to imitate Pelayo. (See his earlier post today on Buchanan.) That thought is a helpful morale builder since circumstances look so dark sometimes that demoralization becomes a threat in itself.
We need a politician like Spencer, a humanist (I don't mean 'humanist' in the ideological sense of being against religion -- I mean someone who clearly is scrupulous about treating people as individuals and not just as members of a group, someone who holds dear the fundamental Western value that each single individual is born with a unique sacred spark of infinite worth -- this sort of humanist, I think, is at least as likely to be Christian as atheist.) I wish Spencer would become a politician, one who would stand up and articulate the danger facing us in a modulated, convincing way, and offer responsible, proportional remedies. If there weren't a spontaneous press boycott of his campaign, and if he were not assiduously ignored, he would ignite a huge storm of controversy, and would have to contend with even larger slanders than assail him already. But he would be able to hold his own in any debate, I expect, and especially in his realm of expertise. It might turn out to be an entirely quixotic campaign, but that's not all bad, and anyway it might become something more.
No wonder Robert is conjuring up a return to that mountain redoubt with Pelayo -- the feeling of being beleaguered and under seige seems justified even now, given Europe's apparently headlong descent. The beleaguerment seems all the worse because only a minority of mainstream analysts, and few politicians, yet recognize the totalitarian threat Islam represents, both to all Europe in the coming decades, and thus to the West as a whole.
If we 'give up' on Europe or curse and condemn Holland rhetorically, that will help the jihadists by demoralizing the anti-dhimmis in Europe, who need from us encouragement and support, not dismissal and contempt. I would never give up on Holland or Europe as long as there's a chance. We should restrict ourselves to criticizing individuals' actions and statements and policies, and deny ourselves the cathartic pleasure of condemning or cursing Europe wholesale when we disagree with her.

President Bush said he would launch an investigation. Representatives from the ACLU and CAIR petitioned the Whitehouse to denounce islamaphobia publically and to suspend the officers involved.

muslims converted a lot of Hindus to islam on swordpoint during their aggression on India. Of course, one can never leave islam. Some of these converts kept their Hindu surnames even after conversion. Examples are : Choudhary, Patel, Bhat, Shah. There are several others. I,for one , do not consider anything islamic as being human, no matter what surname he carries. He only has to be muslim, for me to be VERY wary of him. Zombies all.

Monday evening, sixteen year-old Alif CHOWDHURY and his father, Ehsan CHOWDHURY were waiting outside of a second floor departure terminal prior to their flight to JFK Airport when the behavior of the younger CHOWDHURY became erratic, causing those nearby to alert airport security. Alif CHOWDHURY, dressed in a traditional Islamic white robe and wearing a backpack, was observed praying loudly in Arabic, shouting and ultimately claiming to have a bomb in the backpack he was wearing. Officers were quick to respond to the area.
While the officers were talking to the boy’s father, Alif CHOWDHURY became more agitated and according to witnesses at the airport, shouted "I have a bomb" , "I want to die"' and "We're all going to die." As officers surrounded him with guns drawn, CHOWDHURY tore off his backpack and reached inside. At that point, officers wrestled him to the ground, subdued him and secured his backpack. Although there were no weapons or explosives found inside of his backpack, the teenager was carrying several cellular telephones.
The father and son, both of Middle Eastern descent, were waiting to return to their Garden City, Long Island home. The elder CHOWDHURY was reportedly in Buffalo to escort his son back home after visiting friends in the area.
According to C. Douglas Hartmayer, the spokesman for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority that operates the Buffalo airport, Ehsan CHOWDHURY was cooperative when questioned by authorities, but his son become more agitated and combative. "He did say things like - apparently to his dad – “It's time to die. I'm not afraid to die," Hartmayer said. "And he ripped off his backpack and tried to pull something out of his backpack while saying, 'I'll kill you. It's time to die.'"
Officers arrested the teen, who was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for a psychiatric evaluation. Investigation revealed that Ehsan CHOWDHURY was reportedly escorting his son back to their Long Island home following his son’s visit to friends in the Buffalo, NY area.
What Forbes reported from AP story source, no names, no mention of middle eastern, no mention of praying loudly in Arabic, no mention of saying "I have a bomb", no mention that they were coming back from Buffalo (I believe that was where a cell had been found some months ago). In the article posted by JW they just say "who was dressed in a white robe-like garment" rather than identifying what he was wearing was a traditional Islamic white robe. The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force was also called and determined there was no terrorism threat, FBI spokeswoman Maureen Dempsey said.

The boy will spend at least two days at the hospital because of the charges, Hartmayer said, before being arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court. No telephone listing could be found for his family in their hometown of Garden City, N.Y.
The airport's operations were not disrupted by the incident.
Haven't cell phones been used in the past to detonate explosives? I thought I read that somewhere. Anyway, this story should be paid great attention to, as it is another in a long line of incidents involving Muslims who flip their lid and immediately shift into violence mode when they become irritated.
Of course, like so many others, he will, or his Daddy will, or Muslim civil rights will claim that he has a mental condition.
It's a part of the Islamic Jihad playbook.

Cell phones are routinely used to detonate bombs. They have been used in several suicide/homicide terrorist attacks in Israel.
Only in New York (or some other parts of the US) would police think of insanity before terrorism. Comments from police would be welcome. Not enough evidence or what? I suggest that the cell phones should have been impounded and investigated.
Under NY law, he's out of the mental institution within three days if he answers questions rationally. If he is actually involved in terrorist activities, he will lie about this.
This boy should have been detained and questioned. Maybe he had been rehearsing and simply lost his cool (clinical description: became overanxious under stress).

There are two types of muslims: Those that are currently engaged in jihad, and those that have been putting it off. I don't think that innocent enters into it anywhere. Most have yet to answer the call of jihad, that the koran dictates for them. But more and more muslims are doing just that, and when push comes to shove, they will take sides. There are no innocent muslims.

Agree with you absolutely. There are no innocent muslims. The only good muslim is one who has not tried to kill an infidel, yet. Somehow I have lost all compassion for anything islamic. I feel bad when I see a dead stray dog, but I am feelingless for a muslim.
