"Jihad is the best thing that man can ever volunteer to do"

Faheem Khalid Lodhi's statement accords with this hadith:

Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward)." He replied, "I do not find such a deed." (Bukhari, vol. 4, bk. 52, no. 44)

"Lodhi jury sees 'jihad' video," from the Daily Telegraph, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

A VIDEOTAPE allegedly seized at the home of Sydney terror suspect Faheem Khalid Lodhi proclaims that "jihad is the best thing that man can ever volunteer to do".

Prosecutors allege the tape, played at Lodhi's trial today, was among material which motivated his cause of "violent jihad".

But the defence says Lodhi has never supported violent jihad, believing it to be a distortion of Islam....

But of course! He believes jihad is just a spiritual struggle, and he collected those maps of Australia's electricity grid solely in order to pray for Australia's enlightenment.

According to an English translation of the tape's Arabic text and audio recordings, "the path to pride and honour and to deterring the enemies lies in jihad for the cause of Allah".

In Islamic theology, jihad fi sabeel Allah -- jihad for the cause of Allah -- refers specifically to warfare.

Jihad "is a way to spread the religion and terrorise the enemy, to expand the domain of Islam all around the world", says the narration.

Yes, but terrorize the enemy spiritually!

"It should be learnt that jihad is the best thing that man can ever volunteer to do."

The video runs for over an hour and includes almost 15 minutes of footage showing a train and a string of tanks, trucks and troop carriers being blown up.

Yes, but blown up spiritually!

One explosion, which throws soldiers high into the air, is replayed three times.

The blasts are followed by shouts of "Allah is great!", while chants of "hail the brigades of fighters" punctuate the rest of the video.

Fighters are filmed training, praying and making explosives, while the bodies of leaders killed waging jihad also appear.

Other footage depicts fighters shooting down a helicopter and exploding anti-personnel mines.

Yes, but exploding them spiritually!

Islam itself has already killed them spiritually. Jihad just does it literally.

More taqiyya nonsense about the "real meaning of Jihad" will apparently be on view -- for those who can stomach it -- at a meeting this coming weekend at Harvard Divinity School. The current public face of this public-relations effort is an Ahmadiyya Muslim, who perhaps has decided that his own very marginal and persecuted (as not being true Islam) sect is just the ticket for misleading both Infidels (if we all pretend that "Jihad" doesn't mean what it means, will the Infidels among whom we know live and whose good will we desire, believe us) and possibly even a few thoroughly Westernized Muslmis, living in this country, who are out of filial piety eager not to believe that the real Islam -- that of the billion or so people living in Islamic societies -- simply reflects a Big Misunderstanding.

Hugh,

When I spoke at the Pim Fortuyn Memorial Conference in The Hague, there was an Ahmadi doing just what you describe, and trying to hijack the presentations during the Q and A. I kept coming back to the fact that his sect is persecuted as heretical by the vast majority of Muslims, a fact which he never addressed.

ELECTRIFIYING NEWS OUT OF AUSTRALIA.

Thanks Robert.

Many Muslims present jihad solely as just being a spiritual struggle.

But jihad is definitely not just a spiritual struggle in Islam.

Read these "spiritual" passages:

Tabari IX:69 “Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us.”

Bukhari:V5B59N512
“The Prophet had their men killed, their woman and children taken captive.”

Tabari VIII:141
“The battle cry of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah that night was: ‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’”

Maybe you need to get Naseem there, so that (s)he, after enough prodding, slips up and wishes for the entire world to turn Islamic.

but exploding them spiritually

Exploding the myths and mythconceptions about Islam being a religion of violence.

I am sure that if Mr Lodhi tells the court that he purchased the videotape from the bookstore in the suburb of Auburn, NSW, he will be allowed to go free. Our A-G is still trying to decide if the hate literature sold at this bookstore offends any of our laws.

I'm sure Mr Lodhi can confect a story about how his religion teaches him to hate the West. That is perfectly acceptable to our federal government here in Australia.

I'd rather volunteer to be a taste tester at the Miller Brewing Co.
