He declared: "God save Osama bin Laden — you will never get him."...Brinkema firmly refused to be interrupted by the 37-year-old defendant as she disputed his claim that his life sentence meant America had lost and he had won.
"Mr. Moussaoui, when this proceeding is over, everyone else in this room will leave to see the sun ... hear the birds ... and they can associate with whomever they want," she said.
She went on: "You will spend the rest of your life in a supermax prison. It's absolutely clear who won."
And she said it was proper he will be kept away from outsiders, unable to speak publicly again.
"Mr. Moussaoui, you came here to be a martyr in a great big bang of glory," she said, "but to paraphrase the poet T.S. Eliot, instead you will die with a whimper."...
"You will never get a chance to speak again and that's an appropriate ending."
Brinkema sentenced Moussaoui to six life terms without the chance of parole...
Moussaoui walked into the courtroom flashing a victory sign. "God save Osama bin Laden — you will never get him," he said.
"You have branded me as a terrorist or a criminal or whatever," he said. "Look at yourselves. I fight for my belief." He spoke for less than five minutes; the judge told him he could not use his sentencing to make a political speech.
French authorities said Thursday they may eventually press the United States to have Moussaoui serve his life sentence in France under two conventions on the transfer of convicts. They were waiting to hear the conditions of his sentencing.
Moussaoui's mother Aicha El Wafi, pressed for her country to intervene. "Now he is going to die in little doses," she said. "He is going to live like a rat in a hole. What for? They are so cruel."...

As for his mother, she would do well to consider the all of the mothers who lost their children on 9/11 on account of creatures akin to the one she spawned. Maybe she can organize a support group with the mother of Theo van Gogh.

Those who are under the impression that our jihadist friend Moussaoui is nuts probably are unaware that Moussaoui's true motive is a prime directive of Islam's and has been laid out explicitly in the Kuran.

THAT'S WHAT MOUSSAOUI WAS UP TO! That's jihad aka 'terrorism.' That's Islam!
Moussaoui is a classic example of an Islamic killer-Zombie, nothing more nothing less.
And as I have already overstated THIS is what Islam is all about. And that is jihad in action. If it's looney tunes (which it is), well that is actually beside the point.
It's time everybody got over it. And got with the anti-jihad program.
Moussaoui will not get to become an Islamic martyr with this lifetime sentence. So his jihad aspirations have been thwarted. And that would not be the case if he were to be executed.
Thus, while Americans do not get revenge for 9-11 with this sentencing for Moussaoui, they can at least derive some satisfaction in knowing that jihad warfare was unsuccessful for this sob.
And successfully combating jihad warfare is more important that revenge anyway as I see it.

Moussaui's mother pretty much made the headlines in the French evening news. Her pleas were broadcast, along with an interview with two non-muslim french character witnesses who said they were friends of Zarkawi.
These two misguided individuals had testified in his favour at the trial and believed their testimony helped sway the jury away from the idea of the death penalty.
The witnesses and the mother continually raised the point that he was accused for having done nothing. This is despite the fact that 'non-assistance to a person in danger' is a crime in France.
I don't think anyone will be suprised that the broadcast failed to mention either what Moussaoui was involved in or how he could have prevented 9/11 or what in fact happened on that day.
So as ever, no context, just awful Yankkkees imprisoning a poor French Arab who never actually did anything wrong.

Under NO circumstances should Moussaoui be transferred to France. Or anywhere else. He has to be kept locked away, silent and unseen. That is the best punishment. Three Key Issues for Examination
This paper will examine the Clinton policy of giving the green light to Iranian arms shipments to the Bosnian Muslims, with serious implications for the safety of U.S. troops deployed there. (In addition, RPC will release a general analysis of the SFOR mission and the Clinton Administration's request for supplemental appropriations to fund it in the near future.) Specifically, the balance of this paper will examine in detail the three issues summarized below:

The Mujahedin Threat
In addition to (and working closely with) the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and VEVAK intelligence are members of numerous radical groups known for their anti-Western orientation, along with thousands of volunteer mujahedin ("holy warriors") from across the Islamic world. From the beginning of the NATO-led deployment, the Clinton Administration has given insufficient weight to military concerns regarding the mujahedin presence in Bosnia as well as the danger they pose to American personnel.

Stepping-Stone to Europe
The intended targets of the mujahedin network in Bosnia are not limited to that country but extend to Western Europe. For example, in August 1995, the conservative Paris daily Le Figaro reported that French security services believe that "Islamic fundamentalists from Algeria have set up a security network across Europe with fighters trained in Afghan guerrilla camps and [in] southern France while some have been tested in Bosnia."

Self-Inflicted Atrocities
Almost since the beginning of the Bosnian war in the spring of 1992, there have been persistent reports -- readily found in the European media but little reported in the United States -- that civilian deaths in Muslim-held Sarajevo attributed to the Bosnian Serb Army were in some cases actually inflicted by operatives of the Izetbegovic regime in an (ultimately successful) effort to secure American intervention on Sarajevo's behalf. These allegations include instances of sniping at civilians as well as three major explosions, attributed to Serbian mortar fire, that claimed the lives of dozens of people and, in each case, resulted in the international community's taking measures against the Muslims' Serb enemies. (The three explosions were: (1) the May 27, 1992, "breadline massacre," which was reported to have killed 16 people and which resulted in economic sanctions on the Bosnian Serbs and rump Yugoslavia; (2) the February 5, 1994, Markale "market massacre," killing 68 and resulting in selective NATO air strikes and an ultimatum to the Serbs to withdraw their heavy weapons from the area near Sarajevo; and (3) the August 28, 1995 "second market massacre," killing 37 and resulting in large-scale NATO air strikes, eventually leading to the Dayton agreement and the deployment of IFOR.) When she was asked about such allegations (with respect to the February 1994 explosion) then-U.N. Ambassador and current Secretary of State-designate Madeleine Albright, in a stunning non sequitur, said: "It's very hard to believe any country would do this to their own people, and therefore, although we do not exactly know what the facts are, it would seem to us that the Serbs are the ones that probably have a great deal of responsibility." The fact that such a contention is difficult to believe does not mean it is not true. Not only did the incidents lead to the result desired by Sarajevo (Western action against the Bosnian Serbs), their staging by the Muslims would be entirely in keeping with the moral outlook of Islamic radicalism, which has long accepted the deaths of innocent (including Muslim) bystanders killed in terrorist actions. According to a noted analyst: "The dictum that the end justifies the means is adopted by all fundamentalist organizations in their strategies for achieving political power and imposing on society their own view of Islam. What is important in every action is its niy'yah, its motive. No means need be spared in the service of Islam as long as one takes action with a pure niy'yah." [Amir Taheri, Holy Terror, Bethesda, MD, 1987] With the evidence that the Sarajevo leadership does in fact have a fundamentalist outlook, it is unwarranted to dismiss cavalierly the possibility of Muslim responsibility. I sometime think that there are signs in history that are often not apparent at the time they occur and time-lines and dates that are significant. For example, Sirhan Sirhan picked June 5, 1968 to assassinate RFK because it was the first anniversary (June 5, 1967) of the 1967 Six-Day Arab-Israeli War. One thing led to another. The summation of the prosecution case against Sirhan Sirhan for the murder of Robert F. Kennedy occurred on April 14, 1968 (oddly the 103rd anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln). The attack on the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001 was the same day as the defeat of the Ottoman Turks at the Battle of Vienna (9/11/1683). Moussaoui's sentencing comes at a time (early May) when the Nazis were absolutely destroyed (May 1 to May 8, 1945) by the Allies in World War II. Does Moussaoui prophesy the future re Islam and Jihad? I wonder.
I am a practicle man (I'm working class guy who is financially quite successful) but I am drawn to the Supreme Almighty God and have great wonder about Him. I don't like dogma (therefore I despise Islam with their Chinese style foot bound heads-as in the a-holes who burned 40 girls in a school in 2002 for dogma). There is some intuition in me that tells me that Islam is doomed and that it is as hollow as Sirhan Sirhan and Moussaoui.
U.S. Muslim groups hail Moussaoui verdict
Outcome seen as validation of American justice system, Islamic principles.
Muslim-American groups reacted favorably to Thursday’s formal sentencing of convicted terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui, some seeing it as an example of impartial American justice, an opportunity for closure and the end of an unhappy chapter in Muslim-American relations in the post-9/11 world.
Following the jury's recommendation, U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema sentenced Moussaoui to six life terms without the chance of parole.
“Honestly, we haven't been commenting on the case because we don’t see him as representing Muslims,” said Rabiah Ahmed, spokeswoman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington-based civil rights and advocacy group.
“Moussaoui’s actions were clearly against the teaching of Islam,” she said. “We can say that we’re hoping the end of this trial will bring closure for the families; it’s been a very difficult time for them. We’ve always advocated that anyone involved in terrorism should be punished to the law’s full extent. If the jury decided that life in prison is a fair verdict, then we respect that.”
For some, Moussaoui’s sentence of life in prison was justified despite his relatively marginal role in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“The people in the community in the greater Detroit area feel it was a fair trial, that the American judicial system has worked,” said Eide al-Awan, interfaith outreach director of the Islamic Center of America, the Detroit-based Islamic resource center housing the largest mosque in the United States.
‘Suffer the consequences’
“Whether it was a matter of life in prison or the death penalty would have been fine with the community,” he said. “They realize the impact of what this man was a part of. Although the jury felt he wasn’t privy to all the information of the attacks, he should have to suffer the consequences, whatever the consequences may be.”
Al-Awan said the life sentence showed other nations the basic fairness of the American judicial system, and undercut any bid on Moussaoui’s part to be executed and perceived as a martyr for Islamic or terrorist causes.
“They’ve taken the air out of that balloon,” al-Awan said.
"This sends a message all over the world that America is a just country and doesn’t have to put a person to death in order to impart the consequences for terrorism.”

Jung talks about "meaningful coincidences." I think Jung was on to some truth in this matter. I think we should approach such things with a keen rational eye-but not dismiss such coincidences as rubbish.
Anyone thought about the ramifications of increasingly large numbers of muslims on juries in Great Britain? People who secretly (or openly) don't adhere to the Westminster system of justice. Legal teams can't keep on rejecting potential jurors - only so many challenges allowed.

No, not the end of anything. Just one more learning experience for Infidels about what has to change -- the refusal so far of prosecutors to explain, without any inhibitions, what is contained in Qur'an and Hadith, and what, therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that anyone who claims to believe that the Qur'an is the immutable and uncreated (always existing) word of God, and that the Hadith record the sayings, deeds, and even the silences of the Perfect Man, Muhammad, uswa hasana al-insan al-kamil, can reasonably be held to view Infidels as anyone naturally would, were he to take Qur'an and Hadith to heart.
There is no end to Muslim-Infidel hostility because it is central to Islam. If Muslims attempting to deceive the Infidels among whom they live, in countries where they worry about their position for they are not yet strong enough to dispense with the need to disguise or to misrepresent the belief-system of Islam, and what they themselves believe, think that the world's Muslims can continue to divide the universe between Believer and Infidel, and that this will somehow be ignored by those Infidels, as day after day brings yet another fresh example, by Muslim word or Muslim deed, of this division, they are whistling in the dark. There is a limit to Infidel credulity. For many, that limit was reached long ago, and more are coming to that conclusion every day -- even if they remain, for now, largely quiet about it.
Unfortunately, we are still treating the symptoms and not the disease, however comforting it is to see this man behind bars.

Taking the fact that Jews amd Hindus are not allowed to be jury members if a muslim is on trial, which is likely as muslims are heavily represented in the criminal fraternity, this is worrying indeed.
skald, if you are afraid that islam will conquer the world, i can tell you that your fears are unfounded. This is because we know what God has said concerning the end of this world.
However, if you are one of the dreamers, i tell you your dreams cannot come true.
I feel for Mr Moussaoui but justice must take its cause. Like someone commented, they will talk tough, kill, murder, and deny others their rights but when they are in the net like this, their relatives will remember they are French, German etc.
We look forward to seeing what happened to this guy and the prof. happen again and again.
