Terrorists and extremists more and more are turning to the Internet to spread their views and incite readers to take action, according to a report issued this week by a Jewish human rights group.Called "Digital Terrorism and Hate 2006," the report was issued by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and is available as an interactive CD, according to the group's officials. The report focuses on more than 6,000 Web sites that raise money for terrorist groups and teach related skills, such as bomb building.
In particular, the report details Middle Eastern-run Internet forums that encourage attacks on Christians and Jews with tips on, for example, how to use a cell phone as a bomb detonator. It also highlights European online news groups used by sports fanatics to incite racial activity at sporting events. There's also a trans-national Internet network used by North American, European, and Middle Eastern extremists to share ideas, the report says.

The point this article makes is the best reason I can think of for detonating EMP weapons over the airspace of islamic nations. Doing this would eliminate most Muslims' electrical power as well as their access to the internet and other mass communications devices they have been using to accelerate their jihad propaganda war. And it would result in the loss of few if any lives as a direct result.
It should go without saying this door can and does swing both ways.

Most web hosting companies in the US (and some other countries) have terms of service that give the companies the right to pull the plug on customers who abuse the site by providing offensive material. Enforcement of TOS needs to be increased to limit severely the number of these sites.

There used to be a site that searched the web for jihadi sites and let the commenters contact the ISPs to shut them down and advertise the results. I can't remember the site address but if anyone does I would like to get back into the program. If it doesn't exist then maybe it could be started as a project. Kinda like a net minuteman program.

This UK hacker had open access to US defence computers for 2 years. In the video interview he said that when he was in the US systems loads of other people we hacked in at the same time from Turkey, Germany and Holland (to name a few).
Foriegn governments have been hacking into US defence computers for years.

Are the Jews who authored this report Brandeis alumni? There are no terrorists and extremists involved with this the 1998 Islamic Jihad; there are only Moslem activists inspired by an honest reading of the Koran and Hadiths. They are devolved-but-reasonable homo sapiens intent on doing the right thing as commanded to them by their koranic god and the prophet who invented him.

Islam is different from other 'hate groups' you mention in that the Islamic jihadists' 'hateful' correspondences over the internet WILL result in the massacre of innocent civilians. These jihadists could easily be in the advanced planning stages of Islamic terror attacks, coup d'etats, manufacturing weapons of mass destruction on US soil and other 'hate' stuff you have demeaned in degree of danger posed to the world by likening them to other 'hate groups.'
