British officials are shocked (not "shocked! shocked!," but really shocked) to find out that young Muslims are learning "radical teaching" in their university courses on Islam.
Here are the fruits of the official willful ignorance of Islam and jihad. Blair (and Bush, and so many others) insist that jihad violence does not stem from Islam, and has nothing to do with Islam. British (and American) officials cannot conceive -- are not allowed to conceive -- of the possibility that an ordinary course on Islam might not have to be subverted or infiltrated in order to teach the necessity to wage jihad in order to impose the Islamic social order over the world. If that course is not a whitewash designed to please and/or bamboozle Westerners, it is actually likely that it will teach that in one form or another.
If British officials had been aware of all that, if they had allowed themselves to be aware of it, they might not be so surprised by this. They might even have nipped it in the bud.

The study has since come under sustained criticism but yesterday Mr Rammell demanded an improvement in the way Islam is taught at higher education level.He said: "There are weaknesses in the way young Muslims are educated about what their faith really requires.
"There is a concern that the teachings which the great majority of Muslims would want to stress about living in peace, protecting the vulnerable, avoiding harm to others, are sometimes sidelined.
Where is the Great Majority of Peaceful, Law-Abiding Muslims™ we keep hearing so much about? Why is it evidently not only a Silent, but a Powerless Majority?

It's certainly only a tiny minority of moderates who speak out against the extremists. The moderation of the vast majority of moderates - if they exist - must be taken on trust.
I attended a degree course in Arabic at a London University for a number of years. The associated area studies modules were virtually a total indoctrination into the wonders of islam and the superiority of sharia. The history courses in particular never made any sense to me. They gave such a biased perspective that even some of the students balked at the distortion of facts. It was a total whitewash! That, together with a number of other incidents of a more personal nature, led me to Jihadwatch where finally things dropped into place and made sense again.

We were all told about the Trojan Horse in our history classes in the west that happened thousands of years ago. Oh history does teach us so much, the very fact that we do not take it serious is why it repeats so often perhaps.

We are a concervative Catholic family part of the US forces in the UK> We just visited Sheffield this past Sunday during a weekend to hiking trip in the Peak District.
We went in search of a Catholic Church for mass that morning (14th May). What we found was a Catholic Church that looked fine on the outside, but when one entered one found an eviscerated shell, a Post Vatican II New Church monstrosity, where the high altar had been torn out, the Crucifix moved to the side, and the Tabernacle de-emphasized, so that all that was left was a great white wall to stare at. All signs of holiness and reverence banished by the conciliar ecumaniacs.
When we saw the guitar players setting up my wife could take it no-longer and we retreated in good order. (She wanted to stand up in Church and ask the (mostly elderly) congregation (sparse congregation I might add) if they liked the Crucifix on the side wall? and hey let's just move it back...NOW!!) Not wanting to spend Sunday morning in a Brit clink, with Mom and Baby I suggested letters to the Holy See might be a better approach at this time...
Low and behold, on just the next street over, what did we see as we went in search of a cappucino to calm our ire, but a huge new mosque going up, and then we noticed that the entire neighbor was one great Mohammedan ghetto.

Almost five years ago I was hearing that the Qur'an will soon have to be exposed to "higher criticism" like the Bible has had to go through. The Bible has stood the test of time by those who have tried to destroy it. When will the Qur'an finally go through the test of higher criticism? Who will begin this work? Are the Muslims too afraid that the Qur'an will fail the test, or are we too afraid of the Muslims to do it?
It has almost been 5 years since the events of September 11th, 2001, and I bet many in the west still do not know the difference between "Islam" and "Muslim." I wonder if the west is ever going to wake up to what the Qur'an really teaches?
