After looking at both the writeups; I have to put my two cents here.
The truth of the matter is that the Muslims are simply living in deniel. They should know better, considering that the real " fastest growing faith " is the Christian faith. It has taken off bigtime in the global south. Everyday more people become Christians then become Muslims. This despite all the efforts to discredit Christianity via the upcoming movie based on the book, "The DaVinci Code". The Gospel or good news of Jesus stood the test of time and became victorious. Also take into consideration that the newest missionaries will be coming from the global south countries to re-Christianize the west and herald a Christian revival.

islam has to threaten death with any one who leaves their cult. with the march of globalization of the internet, Western thought, young people will abondon the cult of islam. any sane person, any person who is honest with oneself will clearly see the murderous cult in the koran. that is why bin laden and his gang are out to get the strongest country in the world, as the US is the country of the best constitution ever made.

In truth, what is going on now is that the Muslims are scared crazy because not only because of the advances of the high tech, but also because of the growing numbers and stregth of the Christian faith, which is advancing in the global south. They know that the truth of Islam is getting out to more people and it is being exposed for what it is.
Muslims base their claim to be the worls'd fastest growing religion on their high birthrate. Since any demographer will tell you that the quickest way to reduce a country's birthrate is to educate the women, it's really a rather tawdry boast.

What's happens in your scenario is possible, but not with McCain. Remember, he was the one who opposed torture of prisoners, as well as secret detention facilities abroad. I think it's most likely to happen under either Giuliani, Tancredo or Weldon. But not in the timeframe outlined above.
Still, one can dream
In order for a battle of numbers to be effective, you have to be willing to accept a few things.
First, that the actual numbers of your faith are spread out, but not so much that the communities themselves become inconsequential. Palestine is the most densely packed land on earth, the occupants are primarily muslim and they are breeding quickly. This just makes it easier to confront them as a mass.
Second, that the numbers in your religious group are a singular monolith. The shia and sunni are busy hating and killing one another, while the sunni Kurds are making themselves a nice, democratic nation. The numbers only make sense if you can rally all of them in one direction. The problem is that if you plan to convert everyone to islam, which branch will it be? The infighting over that little nugget would never stop.
At least Christians of different faiths can get along now, we gave up the hating and killing part centuries ago. Its far easier to be a Christian than a muslim, primarily because Christians wont saw your head off if you try to leave the faith.

That is true, but also do not underestemate the fact that the one part of the Christian that is winning souls for Christ is the evangelicals who can very easy after spreading the good news get new church communities going very quickly.
