The Qur'an forbids a Muslim man to have sexual relations with a woman who is married to someone else, except for "those (captives) whom your right hands possess" (4:3). This is the Qur'anic term for a woman captured in warfare and kept as a slave. Thus there is nothing preventing a pious Muslim male from having, as the Indo-Asian News Service rather luridly terms it, a "sex slave." So while it is likely that some will, or will try, to take the fact that Osama had a sex slave as evidence that he is not a fervent Muslim, in fact it establishes nothing of the sort.
Others, of course, will say: You can't say Osama is a pious and fervent Muslim. Why, that would be undercutting all the moderates. They would enlist us in their giant, global game of pretend, as if we are all five years old again and all we have to do is close our eyes and wish the dragon away.
Well, I myself think it is preferable to stick to reality, and to try to frame a course of action that is based on that reality, rather than on wishes, however politically correct and comforting.

The basics of her story---being held captive for sex and later being threatened by bin Laden for writing anti-Islamic material---are plausible in principle.
As to whether any of this happened to be true viz Kola Boof's case, we have no way of knowing unless there are other witnesses to her 4-month long kidnapping. It does smell like a publicity stunt, and Boof seems obsessed with publicity. She comes across as superficial, narcissistic, new agey (if that's a term), and tribalist.
Boof writes: "Because I was "raped" by Osama Bin Laden on the first night that I met him....many feminists have criticized me for calling myself his "Mistress"."
Why would someone who was truly raped ever for any reason put that word in quotation marks?
Boof continues: "But I refuse to be called his SEX SLAVE (as the tabloid story above does). And I refuse to be called his "concubine" or "whore".
Sex slave is not a nice term; neither is rape victim. No one personally would want to be defined by those terms, but the terms are accurate (in genuine cases) in identifying a person in discussing that context (though only in that context).
Boof: "Yes, Osama raped me. But, unfortunately, that is the reality of African and Arab Muslim women and has been for centuries. Many women meet their husbands during a rape. Winning a shootout against trained jihadists does not seem credible. Later in the interview Boof comes up with conspiracy theories about why the "white" media are reluctant to publish her story, and then says "Fuck white people."
Boof does appear to have been threatened, but whether any of her allegations which led to the threats being made are true is another matter.
Despite my reservations about Kola's credibility (it has been reported that FOX news verified her claims about being Osama's mistress--something not to be taken seriously until such verification is shown), I have to admit that she is an excellent writer and is working for an excellent cause.
