Iran again rejects deadline for reply to nuclear offer

1938 Alert from the Khaleej Times:

TEHERAN - Iran on Saturday again rejected any deadline for its response to the international package of incentives offered if it stops enriching uranium as part of its nuclear program, state media reported.
"In our meeting with (EU foreign policy chief) Mr (Javier) Solana, we did not agree on any deadline to respond to the West’s proposals. On the contrary, we agreed to examine the proposals with precision and patience," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted as saying from Geneva where he was attending a UN human rights meeting.
"In our meeting with Mr Solana, the Islamic Republic of Iran said it will not accept any preconditions, nor will it come forward with any preconditions," Mottaki added.
"However, if there were supposed to be any preconditions, it is the Islamic Republic of Iran that should be coming forward with them," he said.
The five permanent UN Security Council members -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States -- plus Germany have offered Iran a package of incentives that includes multilateral talks if it agrees to temporarily halt uranium enrichment.
That work is at the center of fears the hardline regime could acquire nuclear weapons, although Teheran insists the project aims only to provide fuel for nuclear energy.
Diplomats have said Iran was asked to reply by June 29 to the offer, but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday Teheran would take until August 22 to answer.
On Friday, Javad Vaidi, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, told AFP that suspending uranium enrichment will be neither a precondition for talks with world powers on its nuclear activities nor an outcome of those discussions.

Ok, so we now know that by August 22, 2006, Iran will have attained some kind of nuclear capacity, and after that point the only way to shut it down will be by use of force.

And we are waiting...why?

Don't worry this extra delay will allow the security council to really get the strong wording on their next letter just right. That should get those mad Mullahs shaking in their boots.

Whatever.

Let them take their time getting back to the offer, but keep the pressure up the whole way. They're bound and determined to get a nuclear bomb and we know that if their desire is strong enough, they'll get it -it's practically inevitable.

Then when there's undeniable proof that their ambitions aren't peaceful, we'll have every right in the world as well as every free nation begging for our assistance, to do what needs to be done.

Don't think we have a 'right'? In my opinion, nuclear energy (or weapons, as the case may be) isn't a 'right' but a 'privilege'. We can argue that fact after we've created the world's biggest crater in what was once Tehran...

Looks like our "friends" at CAIR are trying to get bloggers in legal trouble for using our 1st amendment rights.
So, hello FBI. I hope you will enjoy your time at JW and Little Green Footballs etc. I hope you learn the truth about islam while you are visiting.

"On Friday, Javad Vaidi . . . told AFP that suspending uranium enrichment will be neither a precondition for talks with world powers on its nuclear activities nor an outcome of those discussions."

I would like to further reduce what Vaida said. "suspending uranium enrichment will be neither a precondition for talks ... nor an outcome of those discussions."

This is pretty clear. If a suspension of enrichment will not be the result (outcome) of these discussions, what is all the phoney diplomacy all about? Iran has no intention of suspending enrichment. Let's just assume that Iran will produce weapons grade uranium and base our government policy on that result. End of debate, lock and load.

Hi profitsbeard,
Yes, hooorahh for anti-CAIR.

Good information, the 4 posts are funny and predictible.

What was it that Reagan said, something like "The bombing will begin in five minutes." He was joking but it might be appropriate in this situation.

Iran and North Korea think they can play these deadly nuclear games with impunity. They think the West is too weak and divided to do anything about it. Sadly enough, they might be right.

Plus, now that Iran is being richly rewarded for it's nuclear gamesmanship, North Korea wants another go at it too in order to extort similar concessions.

If Russia, Europe, China, and the U.S. have any sense left they will get together and put a stop to this once and for all. The Security Council needs to live up to its name for once.

The same thing was stated by them when the "west" made the offer, no change by them at all. Next steps are up to the "west", the Iranians have just said no, again.

My friends,

Iran and all those other wacko jihadist areas are composed of nothing other than guy gangs. You know home boys who have a gang. No girls are invited. This has been going on for well over a thousand years.

George Bush and his boys knew this before they invaded Iraq. He knew the Jihad home boys were gettin' outta hand. He felt he would try and kick them into the 21st century. You know wake their minds up. Stop living with a tribal mentality.

An now here we have the homies in Iraq who want a nuke. George and his boys know that if the homies in Iran get a nuke they'll smuggle it out and nuke us or someone we know.

So you all know what needs to be done.

The Iranian president is one of those that beleives the Mhadi (moslem messiah/khalif), will return in Mid August. In his eyes Iran will have to pave the way for his return by creating a war which will invoke the Mahdi to arrive and destroy thier enemies.

Iran should by then have enough material to make a nuke or two. They have the missiles already.

Mahamoud wants a war -

The most remarkable aspect of Mr Ahmadinejad's piety is his devotion to the Hidden Imam, the Messiah-like figure of Shia Islam, and the president's belief that his government must prepare the country for his return.

One of the first acts of Mr Ahmadinejad's government was to donate about £10 million to the Jamkaran mosque, a popular pilgrimage site where the pious come to drop messages to the Hidden Imam into a holy well.

All streams of Islam believe in a divine saviour, known as the Mahdi, who will appear at the End of Days. A common rumour - denied by the government but widely believed - is that Mr Ahmadinejad and his cabinet have signed a "contract" pledging themselves to work for the return of the Mahdi and sent it to Jamkaran.

Iran's dominant "Twelver" sect believes this will be Mohammed ibn Hasan, regarded as the 12th Imam, or righteous descendant of the Prophet Mohammad.

He is said to have gone into "occlusion" in the ninth century, at the age of five. His return will be preceded by cosmic chaos, war and bloodshed. After a cataclysmic confrontation with evil and darkness, the Mahdi will lead the world to an era of universal peace.

This is similar to the Christian vision of the Apocalypse. Indeed, the Hidden Imam is expected to return in the company of Jesus.

Mr Ahmadinejad appears to believe that these events are close at hand and that ordinary mortals can influence the divine timetable.

The prospect of such a man obtaining nuclear weapons is worrying. The unspoken question is this: is Mr Ahmadinejad now tempting a clash with the West because he feels safe in the belief of the imminent return of the Hidden Imam? Worse, might he be trying to provoke chaos in the hope of hastening his reappearance?

I watched a tv program recently showing the locations of all the countries currently having Nuclear Powerplants. In all the world, none of the countries with this source of energy is openly threatening to use said energy to annililate a neighbor or defying any regulation of said powerplants.
I believe Iran wants Nuclear power only for weapons. When was the last time you recall where the Iranian Government did anything for its people. (other than imprisoning, executions, oppression ---you know). When was the last time Iran participated in anything for another country who was struggling (other the providing weapons, terror training and distibution of hate material)?.
Iran is a four letter word.

"for its civilian use"

Trouble is, mate, mahmoud keeps on talking about 'wiping Israel off the map.'
Also, with all that crude, they don't need to mess with nuclear power.

"America has assumed many things"

Yes mate, America assumed that all religions were peaceful, and the holy men of all were not paedophiles, rapists, murderers, destroyers. It assumed wrong. As regards your 'welfare of neighbors', see my reply above.

"rich richer and the poor poorer".

Mate, America does not control how much you earn. Your people and your societies do. And since we are talking about your society, it does lean towards its religious duties with a gun and knife and explosives rather than trying to start and sustain an enterprise.

By the way, met any Red Army soldier ? Better not be 'policed' by them mate. And I do not remember the Germans 'policing'.

"...and this is the same America which was the only one in history to have used Nuclear bombs on an entire nation."
-jackass above

Hey smart guy, do you realize that both Germany and Japan had nuclear programs? Both working on the bomb. In fact, in 1945 Germany sent two submarines carrying cargoes of Plutonium to the Empire.

Geez, where are all these idiots coming from? Trying to sound smart, sitting in the back seats of the P.C. short bus. "America is the cause of all the worlds problems!".

I normally try not to use profanity here, but sometimes I have to call it as I see it.

You sir, are a shithead.

Ah yes, now I look back at a previous thread and see conjecture that this may be our friend Jack. I can only hope. I'd like to think that this guy's insufferably smug, self-righteous, moral equivalenteering isn't as common as it seems.

Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of these holier-than-thou trolls. They serve no instructive purpose, have nothing of any importance to say (cowards and know-it-alls seldom do). The mohammedans are at least amusing. These thumb-sucking politically correct, traitors are simply annoying. The only thing I learn from them is that before taking the fight to islam, the West needs to get its affairs in order and clean house.

I just reread his posting. America bombed the entire nation of Japan? You should run over there and tell them that. I think the Japanese only remember two bombs.

It's a wonder people with your level of intellect can manage to figure out how to turn on their computers.

"Lets not forget that we are talking about America wanting to stop a country which wants to better its own facilities to improve the quality of life for its own nation and neighboring countries around it, and this is the same America which was the only one in history to have used Nuclear bombs on an entire nation." Quote ..

William-Wallace-Ellerslie;
Logic would suggest the country that produces a weapon during a war, that could end the war, would probally use it.

And who looks most like the country trying to get to second place, of countrys to use the bomb right now?
