MOGADISHU, Somalia - Islamic fighters on Wednesday drove secular militiamen out of a strategic town in southern Somalia following a brief firefight and the fleeing of militia leaders in the middle of the night, witnesses said.There were no immediate reports of casualties, but residents were fleeing for fear of unrest in the town of Jowhar, about 55 miles from the capital of Mogadishu, which the Islamic fighters seized from the secular militiamen last week.
The Islamic Courts Union had been building up troops around Jowhar in recent days to finish off their rivals, the warlord-led Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counterterrorism. The town had been the alliance's last remaining stronghold in southern Somalia.
l wonder how long it will take before we hear the bleating hearts saying they are starving from somalia, say let them rot in their country/city. and perhaps arms their enemies, let them fight to get it
back.
Has anyone been reading Aljazeera over this issue? They basically refer to these Islamic fighters as “freedom” fighters, and always refer the other side as US-backed warlords. Every time, "freedom" fighters this side and US-backed warlords that side. But of course this makes prefect sense, why would freedom fighters ever want to be warlords, only people receiving US aid are warlords, because they need to be warlords to earn the money for weapons, and the freedom fighters, their weapons appear to them in dreams from Allah so they have no need to be warlords to earn money for weapons.
The Wahabis are buying Somalia.
The "freedom fighters" will continue to fight for local islamacists as long as the Saudi money holds out.

Being human and sentimental I couldn't help but feel the disgust and agony when I read about and then saw the horror of Rwanda..but in retrospect it was Hutsi doing to Tutsi what Tutsui did to Hutsi..and the winner is? The ecosystem of Africa.
Nothing but horrors, savagery, barbarity in that forelorn continent and it's neighbors. No reason at all for a European to even visit, much less live, we need their resources then we buy them from their kings and middlemen...the place is a whirlpool, a death trap..
