BRAMPTON — Canada's hard-line Muslims can seem a pretty tight-knit group at times. As a long line of completely new terrorism suspects were being shuffled in and out of the prisoner's box, there were many familiar faces looking on in the courtroom.In the visitors' gallery Saturday morning sat Zaynab Khadr, the sister of Abdullah Khadr, who is fighting extradition to the United States. He is accused of supplying weapons to al-Qaeda.
Ms. Khadr, who once expressed an admiration for suicide bombers on national TV, sat looking at the prisoner's box, speaking Arabic with Aly Hindy, a controversial fundamentalist preacher.
Having had many of their own run-ins with the RCMP and CSIS, Ms. Khadr and Mr. Hindy were intent on doing what they could for the families of the newly accused.
One such man was Tariq Abdelhaleem.
"Hello," he said, looking shattered beyond words, as a reporter approached. "It's my son."
This was stunning. I had gotten to know Mr. Abdelhaleem last year, after he issued a controversial fatwa against too much innovation in Islam.
The imam was worried that Toronto's Muslims were not sticking to scripture and were also becoming unmindful of the real problems in the world.
"Our Muslim brothers and sisters are dying in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Chechnya and other parts of the world," he had written at the time on his website.
"The puppet systems that are in power in the Islamic world are collaborating with the Crusaders and Zionists to keep the ummah [Muslim community] under oppression."

One of them yelped as a teenager appeared in the prisoner's box, pointing out he was without his prescription eyewear. The judge said he'd try to make sure the suspect would get his glasses. And then he vowed that every suspect would get a Koran, as consistent with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms....( I am sorry this just makes me sick..This is the world they want us all to live in..A dark gloomy world full of head to toe clothes...A world full murder and rape..A christian or Jew start talking about the BIBLE we are asked to shut-up...funny our GOD gives us freedom...To bad those that dont believe in anything dont see that.What harm is there in a GOD of freedom?....The media today will give Islam center stage..The President will keep telling us to love Islam and the World will keep moving toward darkness....Islam make me tired.

Robert makes a good point...if the accused are hoping to make a good impression by having scum like Khadr in the house, it is a terrible strategy. I live not far west of this crap, and grew up around Toronto, and am not surprised this happened in Mississagastan (Mississaugladesh?). Like I've mentioned prior, many good people are leaving Mississauga because the demographics are not to their liking. We in Canada are making the mistake of the euros, allowing people to build walls around themselves, not assimilate, and therefore grow (more) contempuous of our culture. I've read somewhere recently that 9/11 was a great source of pride for the muslim world, that it restored pride after so many decades and centuries of humiliation. Couple this with demographics, and even a 3% Mohammedan component can be trouble, because we are dealing with a collective mindset that is immature and given to capricious self-gratification. I have said many times to people who will listen...a lightswitch has been put on, and there is a juggernaut with definite mandates rolling ever onwards until we gather the will to put our foot down and stamp it out. I do have faith it will happen, because although we are tolerant (Judeo-Christian roots or otherwise), you can only maim, bloody, and destroy so much of what we hold dear before we let our true human nature simmer to the surface. At that time, real bloodshed will happen, and we'll be forced (having BEEN forced) to eschew the stagnant multicultural crackpot concepts and return to the days of realization that not all things on this green earth are compatible. One might question whether the security is adequate around the court house given the noted radical behavior of some muslims in attendance. We read Comments that clearly reflect an open contempt of western values(them against us) and yet somehow they find a way to blame us for their behavior.
They expect the Canadian Government to expend funding to find out why so Many muslims are planning Jihadist attacks on western countries.
If the Canadians do they should hire people like Robert Spencer,Ibn Warraq, and Serge Trifkovic. The Canadian Muslim activists would like to get paid as the teachers for sensitivity training for Government employees like the US Federal government is paying for the FBI that is taught by Muslims.

Given Canada's notoriously lax immigration policies that make the US policies look positively draconian, one has to wonder how many Jihadists have made it in and are now poisoning young minds in Canada with Islam.
What is sad is that these poor dumb bastards really believe the pap they're saying. They do not stop to consider that if they were living in an Islamic country like Saudi Arabia and voiced these beliefs instead of a Christian Western nation, they would be rounded up and simply disappear and their bodies would never be found.
