This confirms what I always believed, that the Lebanesse Christians have always supported Isreal and in a special way, at this time.

There are those who, like Lahoud, are simply paid agents of Syria. There are others who know that there is no reason to publicly side with Israel, and a good reason -- violent retribution -- not to. So support for Israel, or if not support at least secret pleasure that the Israeli forces are doing what no one else in Lebanon dares to try to do, which is to remove the Hezbollah threat from both Israel and from Lebanese society, is widespread not only among Christians, and not only among Druze (read carefully the statements of that mercurial truth-teller, Walid Jumblatt), but also among, one has reason to believe, the old Sunni elites who, like their counterparts in Baghdad, are horrified at the sudden emergence of Shi'a power, horrified to see that the Shi'a have been reproducing faster than any other group (in the same way that Muslims in the West reproduce faster than any non-Muslims, and deliberately so, as so many remarks, from Boumedienne on, make clear -- demography is a clearly-understood instrument of Jihad).

Christians are next if Israel falls. ALL maslems (I'll say it again) ALL moslems want all people to be moslems or dead. its what islam says. If a person claims to follow islam as it NOW, they have to think this.

Now, let that model be applied to Iraq, Syria (by Shia and Alawite), Afghanistan (Hizb ul Wahdat - the Hazara party of Karim Khalili), Tajikistan (which derives its inspiration from Iran, and whose Shiaization can be followed by a similar attempt on the Tajiks in Afghanistan, making it an even split along Shia-Sunni lines). Also, overthrow the Bahrein sultanate(?) and have a Shia regime there trying to destabilize Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and UAE.

Then watch all the fun.

InfidelPride--correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that Iran opted for Shi'ism when the Safavids took over. Similarly, I also understand that before Saladin, the Shi'ite Fatimids dominated Egypt. It seems, then, that sectarian change in Islam is a possible result of political upheaval.

I am glad this is being reported. For an outside observer like myslelf it is really difficult to find out what is happening right now. The MSM is showing Israel bombing civilians with no explanation. It is good to hear something other than the official propoganda.

offcourse they are siding with Israel. They would siding with everybody else also, cos nobody wants to live wih the muslims. And only muslims dont give a damn "why".

I have friends who are Lebanese Christians and all are very outspoken against Islamic terrorism and are supportive of Israel. Of course they can probably only be outspoken now because they live in America. If they were in Lebanon, Hezbollah would kill them for that.

The problem of islam is its fundementally hijacked to be a tool to invade to whole world. Islam should be treated in the likes of Democracy, Nazism, & communism. It is no longer a religion.

And these Lebanese are willing to wait until Heck freezes over, if necessary, for someone to come in and fix their country? Where were the big marches in Beirut when The Party of Satan was raining missiles on the Jews and Arabs to the south? If the Lebanese shrug when their country is used by murderers to murder others, saying "bravo" when the nest of vipers is smashed is hardly worth much to me.

If several million Lebanese citizens advanced on Hezbollah strongholds just waiving clubs they would be doing more to help their country than fleeing overseas and going on TV to tell us how sad it is their beautiful homeland has been taken over by fanatics.

The whole region will be taken over by fanatics because too many of the normal people are waiting for someone else to fix their problems. Double ditto for the so-called moderate Muslims. If the religion and the culture can't motivate the majority to action in defense of their own freedom it's probably not worth worryin about. Why spend billions for laser-guided weapons when the vast majority of those most directly affected by the poisonous ideas don't care very much if they succeed or fail. It's one thing to express a mild opinion on your freedom, it's another to do something important to get your freedom.

To my Christian friends in Lebanon:

I am so grateful for your steadfast support of Israel and her right to exist. I am thankful that you have not thrown your support to the terrorist Hezbollah organization. I pray for you all and hope that no injury comes to anyone in the Christian part of Lebanon. If the end of Hezbollah makes your lives more liveable and safe, I pray Israel finishes the job this time. To tscottme: Yes, wouldn't it be wonderful if the Christians in the North held protests against Hezbollah, so that the news agencies would realize that Lebanon is not just Shite radicals. This country belongs to Sunnis, Druze and, of course, Christians. The world doesn't even know Lebanon belongs to this population, because they have left in fear or are too frightened to stand up to these vicious terrorists. Where is a
