Aussies fear Muslim way

Silly Aussie dhimmis. They're manifesting their ignorance of Islam again. I'm confident that the Australian Muslim leaders will be only too happy to explain it all to them, and calm their fears. From the Herald Sun, with thanks to JE:

The poll of 502 people discovered:

ONE in three people are more fearful of Muslims since 9/11.

SEVENTY-ONE per cent say women in Islam are treated as inferior.

FIFTY-SIX per cent believe Muslims are unfairly discriminated against and two in three people believe Muslims should be allowed to wear religious dress in schools and workplaces.

ONLY a quarter of people say they understand Islam well.

The research summary states: "The results show a complex mix of feelings about Muslims in Australia."

People aged between 18 and 29 are more likely to hold sympathetic views about Muslims, the research found.

Queenslanders and people in the over-56 age group felt most threatened by Islam, while Victorians and people in the 40 to 54 years age group felt they had the best understanding of the religion, according to the poll....

Melbourne Islamic cleric Sheik Fehmi Naji El-Imam expressed anger at the poll results, which showed widespread fear of the religion.

"It is not fair at all," the sheik, who is general secretary of the Board of Imams of Victoria, said.

"They don't know what they are talking about - they should know Muslims first before they pass opinions."

Aussies, take heart from the good example provided by that Cardinal who is not afraid to stand up to the Muslims.

A novel concept for Muslims: Actions speak louder than words. Or intentions.

What should we think about the religion of suicide bombers and "honor" killers?

Obviously they don't understand Islam as their response is schizophrenic. They fear them yet think they are unfairly treated? islam is unfairly praised and it is favoured. It should be feared.

Oz's educational system is even more pathetic than in the US, same about their MSM...

And NZ is even worse

I feel that I have a good understanding of Islam, yet feel threatened by it. Is this possible according to this poll from DownUnder?

Riiiiiiiiiight!

A leader of this peaceful religion expressed anger. Enough said mates.

The Sheikh is right. If a majority of Aussies believe that the discrimination against Muslims is unfair, or that 'religious dress' (i.e. burkhas or Imam costumes) are appropriate in schools or worlplaces, they aren't being fair at all. Do Aborigines get to go to school or work in grasskirts?

I'm curious as to what the JW/DW demographics are. At least age and sex. I'd like to know that there may be some of procreating some future politicians and freedom fighters for antidhimmitude. hopefully though, we'd have some of these muslim problems under control by 20-30 years, but I'm not counting on it at the rate things are going.

I have an acquaintance with a muslim lady. She has refused to wear a burqa for six years. Now she wears one out of pressure applied to her and her discomfort about the whole business is apparent to all who know her. Being born into this religion is a handicap. Having to live with it is a burden. Leaving it carries too much stigma and social ostracism and possible death. Is this a religion or a form of suppression of freedom to think and express oneself?

There is a feeling in Australia, among those of a conservative leaning, that the battle against Islamic extremists (note the use of the word "extremists") must be fought and that it must be fought sooner rather than later.
There is, as well, a recognition that our MSM will not be a positive contributor to that battle.
If one remebers that Queenslanders are closer to the largest Islamic "umma" in the Pacific it is not difficult to understand their concern.

CommonSensor not surprised about NZ but Oz I am a bit surprised most Australians I meet are more likely to be un PC than a Canadian or American. That is too bad.

"They don't know what they are talking about - they should know Muslims first before they pass opinions."

Huh. I DO know Muslims, and that's WHY I hold the opinion I do. I'd like to think that other citizens of Western nations would share my opinions if they got to know Islam, but I'm not optimistic.

I wouldn't equate it to fear, as this article dictates, but to openly found education of the true and undisputed and historically correct nature of these savages. How is a group, unquestioned in surveys to prove this jackeass's position a fearful group? I'll mock this A$$ of a reporter who personally chose not to Q the people he/she/it attemps to describe w/o the data for doing so.

Wake up people!

Everyone else is beginning to do so, finally!

Take care,
BC
