To be fair to the arsonists, the clinic may have been committing a grievious sin such as having male doctors treat female patients.

Sounds like IMC is funded by people like Gates and Buffet. Too much money, no purpose in life, and therefore we get all these 'volunteers' as doctors. The muslims need Western doctors as much as a civilized man needs a hole in the head.

Who needs medicine when you have Islam?

In my friendship group at university was a big bear of a man. He was a country lad and he studied medicine. He was an average student but quick of smile, warm of heart, compassionate, caring and although totally nonevangelical, a dedicated christian. But unlike many others he put his beliefs into practice and he was an excellent doctor.

After he graduated he did the formal year in hospital and he then joined a missionary medical group in Africa to bring medical care to the darkest of dark africa the Sudan near its border with Eritrea. One night he was woken by a nurse: there was a muslim female with a breech delivery which had "gone wrong". She was in a village miles away and he could have no escort but the midwife at that time of night and it was dangerous country. There was no bin laden then but there was always the simmering resentment from the muslims and especially their imams.

As luck would have it this was one of the wives of the village witch doctor or imam(yes i do know that they are different but it fits) and it was the long awaited boy, as he already had a number of girls.

Unfortunately the child was also already dead and his head could NOT be freed without either killing the mother or decapitating the child( I do not know all of the details so no lectures on obstetrics please). the father refused to allow the boychild to have his head removed or crushed and became quite threatening and as it was her fault anyway he was quite happy just to let her die as she had killed his son.

My friend threw him out and realised that she was only 12 or 13 was sinking fast so he did not hesitate and he freed the child.

He had 50+ stab wounds in his body when they recovered it.He also had been decapitated and the young mother had her throat slit. It was called an "incident with a psychotic tribesman at the time" but his parent later found out that the whole medical team had to leave the area under dire threats as someone had dared to examine a woman with a breast abscess without the presence of her husband(100 miles away).
The murderer was never even charged.

They never had any problems with the animists or the christians tribespeople, only the Muslims.

These people do NOT deserve one drop of western blood and we should let them rot.

Until I came to JihadWatch.org I could not understand the source of the Muslim hatred for Israel. This site has clarified the issue.

It appears to me that Israel has the potential to be a great source of good in the Mid East. For example, the Jews who have gone to Israel from other Mid East countries, as well as refugess from the Holocaust, built a great city (Tel Aviv) on sand dunes and their science has been excellent-including the invention of the cell-phone at Motorola-Israel. One would think that reasonable Muslims would accept the reality of the great opportunity Israel represents to the entire Mid East and the rest of the Muslim world-particularly in terms of science.

The source of the hatred of Israel is Islam-particularly the dogma of Dar-al-Islam. Israel is a reality that is not compatible with Islam because Islam is not compatible with reality.

These mental midgets are sure not praying to the god of the bible, because the god of the bible would fry their filthy unwiped asses like an egg.....

BTW-Hugh, who annoys me with his self-conscious knowledge, has been a great source of education on the matter. Robert and Hugh are doing a great work as teachers. It's the truth.

Islam cares nothing about economic development in the temporal world. What matters is not the level of economic development, but who is running things. All that matters is that Islam "dominate and not be dominated," both in a collective sense and in an inter-personal sense, in every situation. All else is "injustice."

Think about cell phones for a minute. To Muslims, cell phones are useful for conducting jihad--scouting targets, coordinating attacks, and triggering bombs. But otherwise, they are a threat to Islam. For example, Islamic women, properly locked away in their homes out of sight, might use cell phones to talk to unauthorized others, including, Allah forbid, male persons not of the immediate family! More generally, cell phones permit anonymous communicants to discuss forbidden subjects, perhaps even ideas from other religions and belief systems.

Islamic "scientists" would never even think of creating a cell phone. Science itself, like everything else in Islam, must serve only Allah. Service to humanity, to make life on earth more safe, fulfilling, and prosperous, is not a goal of Islam. In fact, such activity amounts to blasphemy. That mindset is why the United States is considered the "Great Satan," tempting Muslims, making "mischief in the land" through their materialist economic development, and through their humanitarian concerns. That mindset is why all Islamic countries inevitably sink into poverty.

I think there are two kinds of expressions of the human mind. One is what I call the 'bully-mind' (very self-centered-very subjective) and the other is the mind of logic and reason (less subjective-more objective-more aware of others-less infantile re reality). We all have both because we are human. But Islam promotes the 'bully-mind' in overdrive. It's a rule or ruin mind-set that leads to all the lethal things you reference in your comment.

Yes, it is quite remarkable how Islamic ideology taps the worst of human nature--all the most primitive and barbarous human instincts are sacralized as noble tools of Islamic conquest. What is stunning to me is how the west, particularly those in academia, don't see this, or if they see it, choose not to resist. There is some mental disorder involved there, also.

Ironic, considering that in my church today, the Gospel that was read spoke of Jesus not only bringing a 12-year-old girl back to life, but also healing a woman who had bleeding problems for twelve years. This god Allah is not the God of the Holy Bible who is the God of both life and healing. God also works to heal through the doctors and nurses. The Bible, in the Catholic verson states this in Sirach, in order to hold in respect those in the medical profession. What I have seen in this attack on a medical clinic is nothing but disgraceful.

The most famous and "respected" anchor newsman on American television (recently retired), Tom Brokaw, described (while interviewed on the famous David Letterman TV show) how his daughter, a doctor, has been traveling to Pakistan and Afghanistan to "help the people" there. Brokaw obviously hasn't the silghtest conception of the evils of Islamic culture, and naively perpetuates the Leftist version of the White Colonial Missionary to "help" the "Noble Savages" -- the Leftist version glowing under the aura of the conceit of being anti-Colonialist, but really being a hypocritical, and historically ignorant, version of it.

"In addition to the limitations on women's ability to reach medical facilities, the quality of women's health care has also diminished alarmingly under the Taliban regime. Male doctors are severely limited in their ability to diagnose and treat female patients effectively because prohibitions on male-female contact prevent male doctors from lifting women's burqas, touching women except through their clothing, or looking at women's bodies. Female health workers, including nurses and doctors, although granted special permission to work in public, face constant and arbitrary harassment by religious police, especially if they are not properly covered by burqas."

As an aside, that article also carries this bit of information about the health consequences of wearing a burqa:

"Furthermore, the mandatory act of wearing burqas itself causes health risks. They are so heavy and enveloping that they restrict women's activities by making it difficult for them to move. The simple act of walking outside becomes hazardous because the mesh opening severely restricts women's field of vision and they are unable to see their path clearly. In addition, burqas are linked to hearing loss, skin problems, headaches, cardiac disorder, asthma, and also can contribute to mental health problems. PHR revealed that the Afghan women who participated in its study demonstrated alarmingly high levels of mental illness: 97% displayed symptoms of major depression, and 86% reported signs of anxiety. These problems are linked to the oppressive conditions imposed on women and are significantly aggravated by the constant stress of restrictions on their movement and confinement to burqas."

So much for the claim by many Islam apologists that the wearing of the burqa is just some valid free choice issue.

The real 'burqa' is the Mohammedan Koran.

You bet, again. It's not stupidity but ignorance that has prevented people (especially in pluralistic-tolerant-immigrant-rooted-America) from seeing the truth. But people are seeing the reality of things and the questions that are builing in America and elsewhere for Muslims are going to rattle a lot of Muslim cages in the not too distant future.

They may yell "Islamaphobia" all they want but the questions will be relenless in the years ahead. (When average folks in America use the word "dhimmi" to describe a submissive dim-wit-Muslims have a problem. It's going to become slang soon. A lot of people know the word and what it means. That tells me that Muslims are going to have to face some very unpleasant truths about Islam in the future. Times are changing..).

'Infidel' medicine may be viewed as jahiliyya, and mischief (fasad) due to its numerous violations of sharia. I suspect, however, that the 'sinful' nature of western medicine is not the main pretext for the attack.

I suspect that the most likely motive for the attack is the same as always: To separate the infidels from the Muslims wherever possible; to cut off the influence of the westerners.

By establishing these medical facilities, the West is doing something that the average Afghan seems to view as helpful. The coaltion leadership thinks this will build bridges of friendship to the Afghan people, in addition to providing medical care as such. The Taliban may fear this as well.

(A couple of weeks back, a Taliban leader turned himself over to Afghan and coalition authorities, and he publicly praised the medical treatment he received. [He also stated that an Islamic govermnent--or something close enough to his liking to on--had now been implemented in Afghanistan anyway, so there was no need to fight]).
