Iran urges Muslim countries to stop Mideast conflict

The Thug-In-Chief again positions himself as the leader and spokesman of the Islamic world, and of course ignores the relentless assaults by Hizballah against Israeli civlians over the last few years. From AFP, with thanks to Sr. Soph:

TEHRAN (AFP) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been lobbying Muslims to be more active in seeking an end to Israel's continuing assault on Gaza and Lebanon, his office said.

"The silence of the United Nations... and some Western countries' support for Zionist atrocities against defenceless children and women calls for a more active role by Muslim nations to put an end to these attacks," Ahmadinejad said.

The president, a fierce opponent of Israel's existence, also held telephone talks with leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and called for for an emergency meeting of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

Israel launched its offensive against Lebanon on July 12 after the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran and its main regional ally Syria, seized two Israeli soldiers in a deadly raid.

But Ahmadinejad said Israel had used the incident as a "pretext for a pre-planned plot for a wide-ranging assault against Lebanon aimed at destroying its infrastructure and killing innocent civilians."

In a separate letter to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucheher Mottaki urged him to step up efforts to halt the "savage attacks by the Zionist regime".

Kofi will no doubt comply forthwith.

the little man in Iran knows that Israel is poised to destroy the infracture of the monsterous Hizbollah. all these little bombs sent over by iranian muslim love will be destroyed by the Israeli military. Bush is one of the few world leaders declaring Israel has a right to defend herself.

Lulu,

And like the cowards that these Jihadiots have repeatedly shown themselves to be, as the Israeli army approaches, the brave Hizballah fighters will toss their rifles and grenade launchers, shed their masks and uniforms, and blend right back into the general population where they'll proceed to whine in front of CNN and BBC news cameras about how all the destruction has ruined their peaceful lives.

The nutjob won't suggest to hezbollah and the palis to return the soldiers so that Israel can stop hitting them. No, that is not solution according to him. muslims can go on killing infidels, but when infidels strike back, they are barbarions and savages.

I wonder if somebody has heard about the 7th of August, 2006. Written in dd/mm/yy format, it reads 786. This number, written in arabic, some say stands for 'allah' and some say that it points to sura of that number in the koran that calls for killing infidels. muslims consider this number to be holy and try and get vehicles with such a registration number, they collect notes which have this number in its series, and they write this number in all their taxis and homes. 7th of August is approaching. Fast.

Kofi is a bad joke and so his is buddy Javier Solana.

The UN is evil and so is the EU.

Just watch and wait as they increasingly turn against Israel. They talk about how the US is bought off by the 'Zionists'....well, let's watch how the UN and EU are bought off by OIL and MUSLIMS.

Just in: Israel bombs a Shitte mosque in Sidon.

Way to go, Israel. Sidon belongs to the Phoenicians, not to Hizbullah.

As does Lebanon

A dividend from all of this, the Sunni countries are well aware that Iran and Hezbollah are a major threat, and that Iran has hegemonistic ideas and goals for all of the world, not just Dar al Harb or maybe in their eyes Dar al Harb includes the Sunni world.

On the down side the ARab on the street is (as we all know) ignorant and stupid, and perceives Hezbollah and the Shi'a as hero's of Islam, Saviors of Islam.. I wonder how long it will take for the Street Arabs to rise up against their leaders.

I watch Arab and Iranian news daily on Mosaic and increasingly the Arabs on the street are whining "where are the Arab leaders?"

Disgustingly I've seen Christian "Arabs", especially in Lebanon, side with Hezbollah.. And while at it, maybe someone could explain to me how it is that the Patriarch of the Marionite Church has a first name of Nasrallah, the same as the last name of the leader of Hezbollah.. since when would a real Christian have a name paying homage to the Arab god?

During the first Gulf War, the US gave a green light to Syria to invade and take over Lebanon, as a reward for its cooperation in the coalition against Saddam. In retrospect, that was a ridiculous mistake. The Syrians had their own reasons for siding against Saddam, mainly because he was a rival for Baath leadership, and the fact that the Syrians were cosy with Saddam's nemesis Iran.

Had the US not done this, this war would not be happening today.

How does one explain the existance over the years of Syrian puppets like Suleiman Franjeih, Amin Gemayel, Elie Hobeika, Emile Lahoud, and the list goes on. Granted Maronites aren't Arabs, but the behavior of too many of them has been despicable. Bashir Gemayel's assassination in 1982 pretty much lost the war for Israel, and only recently did Sameer Gaegae come out of jail. Since the Lebanese forces - Bashir Gemayel's/Sameer Gaegae's militia - is disarmed, it remains to be seen whether the latter can rescue Lebanon. I have a theory that it cannot happen as long as the Baathists run Dimashq.

Sanman

Hafez Assad wasn't exactly a rival against Saddam for Baath leadership - each of them ran his respective country. I used to think that, but the fact that Saddam was a Sunni forcing Shias under 'secular' rule, while Assad was an Alawite doing the same to Sunnis, made the former popular in the Arab empire, and the latter unpopular. In 1991, I had a Jordanian (Jordanian Jordanian, not Palestinian) neighbor who was busy rooting for Saddam in Gulf war I. I asked him, in course of several conversations, what Arabs thought about Assad. His response was that they loathed him, while they loved Saddam. I knew that each Arab leader was disdained in his own country, but the views that Arabs had of each other's leaders was fascinating.

Isreal kidnapped thousands of palestinains ... no one questioned .... and hezobollah captured only 2 .. which are still kept alive ... to free those palestians ...
if war has to spread , why not kill the 2 ...
