In my book Onward Muslim Soldiers, I discuss the fact that many jihadists travel from country to country, seeking to fight in the latest jihad -- and giving the lie to the common assumption that jihad conflicts around the world are actually just a series of nationalistic struggles.
"Iranians volunteer to fight Jihad against Israel," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Surrounded by yellow Hezbollah flags, more than 60 Iranian volunteers set off Wednesday to join what they called a holy war against Israeli forces in Lebanon. The group — ranging from teenagers to grandfathers — plans to join about 200 other volunteers on the way to the Turkish border, which they hope to cross Thursday. They plan to reach Lebanon via Syria on the weekend.
Organizers said the volunteers are carrying no weapons, and it was not clear whether Turkey would allow them to pass.
If Turkey lets them pass, it will once again demonstrate its unfitness for EU membership.
There's already a video:

I have an idea. Why don't the 'powers that be' stick an undercover agent in their group with a raging case of an itchy, pusy, uncomfortable communicable disease? You know... something to zap the 'will' out of these robots?
If Turkey lets these nutters through their border, they will not be able to claim that they are in ANY way partners in the war on Terror. If they had ANY sense, they would send them back to Iran and not let them into their country.
As with my earlier emails, I FULLY expect that things are going to rapidly go downhill with Turkey. The Scriptures show that Turkey will play a major part in a future war against Israel.
Let's watch and see.
If Turkey lets them pass, it will once again demonstrate its unfitness for EU membership.

The EU should be building fortifications between it and Turkey.
Big ones!
I trust Turkey just about as much as I trust Pakistan.
Islamic led countries throughout history has been dismal failures and seemingly always in conflict.
They have always been involved in some sort of "Jihad" or internal struggle. You know, Who wants to claim the title of the baddest on the block.
If they had ever engaged in relious tolerance, free trade, civil rights for their people and a reasonable judicial system, they could have evolved into great societies. Instead they chose Jihad and martyrdom as priorities in their lives. In making the wrong decisions and by allowing that evil text the Qu'ran to guide them, they allowed themselves to be third rate countries and non-profitable in terms of wealth and lifestyles. They have determined it is better to die than to live. They honor violent death. It is a tragedy of life they have brought upon themselves.

Thanks for the input. I ofter wonder if history classes in our schools teach such valuable information.
Judging from the insipid college professors I see on TV (like Ward Churchill and such) and by the way our young people seem to be more attentive to being "peaceniks (aka appeasers or apologists)" than to being worldly wise--I doubt it.
And, I meant to add, I think Turkey will not stop the Islamic thugs. Turkey has not shown any effort to combat Islamic terrorism lately. I vote no to an admission of Turkey to the EU>
Why did Turkey fall to Islam? Until fairly recently it was a secular state, and resisted Islam ferociously for centuries.
Agreed, Turkey will most likely allow the passage of the Iranian jihadies. 60 more fighters won't make that much more of a difference; until, other towel-heads, in greater numbers, see the ease with which the first band made it through Turkey.
The EU should watch this situation very, very closely.

Here's a little song, to the tune of The Beatles' "Yesterday"
Jihadsterday (or "Whose War is this Anyway?")
(Brit voice)
Yesterday
All we had to fear was the IRA
Now the jihadis are here to stay
We remember yesterday
(French voice)
Hier-sterday
Les gendarmes n’ont peur de rien sacre
Maintenent ils ne peuvent personne proteger
Je n’oublis pas hier-sterday
Plus le meme chose, le moins changer
Ou quelque chose comme ca, je veux parler….
(Canadian voice)
Yesterday
Overtime might mean the Yanks and Jays
Now our time’s spent watching… I can’t say
Oh, I remember yesterday, eh?
(Indian voice)
Yesterday
The western peoples called Mumbai Bombay
It is bloodied now, no matter how they say
The ISI has reached our way
I remember yesterday
Why they hate us so I do know, and I will say
Some Mo long ago called us Kuffir, and it’s been that way
(Australian voice)
Yesterday
Me mates would hit Bali on holiday
But backpack bombs blew all that fun away
I remember yesterday
(Spanish voice)
Yesterday
Queen Isabella slapped mosquitos away
But new Andalusians blew up our subways
Ain’t that some bullcrap now? Ole!
They remember yesterday
(Russian voice)
Yesterday
Those swine attacked our kids at school, first day
Not satisfied to interrupt a play
Cold comfort when we finally made them pay
Still, we remember yesterday
(New Yorker’s voice)
Yesterday
Some camel jockeys thought they’d make a trade
Our two tall towers for two of their lands invaded
And “Religion of Peace” exposed as a charade
Let’s not forget that Yesterday
(Jewish voice)
Yesterday
A mad poet took our book away
There’s no “Thou art the man” when told his way
Poor choice in editing, I’d say
Suddenly
They’re not half the men they used to be
Blood spot and crater where their shoes should be
Those damned Shahids relieve themselves that way
Can’t wait ‘til that’s so yesterday
I, for one, hope that Turkey gives these Jihadiots passage through to Syria and over into Lebanon. Then Israel will have even more reason to bring the fight to the gates of Damascus and then to Iran. The EU can take care of Turkey later.
Mohammed ascended to heaven riding a horse with a human head. Seems appropriate that the Horse ascended to heaven ridden by a human with a horse's ass.
This morning on Anderson Cooper 360, there was a very slick interview with the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a very warm and fuzzy and non-committal answers to Turkey's involvment in the conversation about Peace Talks and efforts to promote a cease fire.
He was very smooth. I almost believed him.
I know it was a statement designed to assist the efforts to keep the US populace asleep, or if they are trying to wake up, to put them back to sleep.
.................rrrrrgggghhh
Mahdi Al-Dajjal said "The EU can take care of Turkey later."
It's such a nice thought, but realistically, can you give me ONE example of how the EU has done ANYTHING besides sit on committees and TALK?
I personally think the EU is as effective as the UN.
FriarsTale: Many thanks for those fine lyrics. Best laugh I've had so far today. But they also make one think, again.
I saw this story reported on television briefly about three nights ago. Amazingly, the report was gone in seconds with a brief video of the Iranians loading into buses and there was little if any commentary on the subject of jihad.
It all makes one wonder if the reporters are just plain stupid or they are being deliberately told to not talk about the obvious Islamist threat. If Islam is so peaceful, then why is everyone so afraid to confront it?
I have a feeling that this situation between Israel and Lebanon is going to give the world too much evidence to deny of the larger Muslim plan for global domination. Why are the reports of Iranian military imbedded with Hezbollah not verified with the relish that reporters give to doing Hezbollah propaganda? Anti-Semitism is rampant in this world still, and yet, we watch most of Europe and Canada (in particular) lanquish in denial when it comes to the Islamic threat.
A conflagration of anger and hate in the Middle East is probably the only medicine that will snap more people out of La-La Land.
Today, CNN reports:
"France, Italy and Turkey on Thursday all indicated a willingness to participate in the (international peacekeeping) force if a cease-fire can be brokered first"
So, letting more jihadist commuters across their borders to fight with Hizb Allah would seem to be a contradictory move.
If I am not mistaken, don't these countries already have members on the existing UN force that has been in Southern Lebanon for years.
Any new "international peacekeeping force" if ever placed there should be authorized to attack terrorists found to be roaming the hills and filling caves with rockets and munitions.
Not to worry, no "international peacekeeping force" would actually attack terrorists. They would, in effect , be useless then as they are now.
I think human nature (except for muslims) have a tendency to root for the underdog. But it's Israel that's the underdog here and the media is portraying them as the aggressors. One of the members of hissbollah has already stated that they didn't realize Israel would react like they have over the kidnapping of their men. How much more do people need , to see Israel was attacked and they are on the defensive? And as far as Iran goes, they've already stated that hissbollah is theirs. And they've stated they want to wipe Israel off the face of the map. Now, they aren't willing to own it.
I understand that a news reporter can't really argue with a muslim while he's standing there with an AK-47in his hand, but the newscasters, Bolton, our leaders, can call them liars when they are caught in one. Why are these people not coming back on these guys when they KNOW they are lying and then confront them with it? It would either shut these muslims and muslim lovers up or they would stop their taquiya.
In related news, while these countries may not be sending jihadists to fight, they certainly don't care for Isreal. My favorite quote:
"How can they stop terrorism against the West if they always make Muslims angry?"
Good stuff...
From Yahoo News:
Hundreds of protesters broke through a police cordon and marched to the convention center in Kuala Lumpur where U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was meeting with other foreign ministers. They raised their fists and chanted slogans against Washington's refusal to condemn Israel's bombardment of Lebanon.
In Indonesia, thousands of people protested in several cities, waving banners and calling Israeli and U.S. leaders "the real terrorists."
"It's ironic that America shouts about peace and democracy, and then supports Israel when it kills innocent Muslims," said Arief Trisarjono, who led some 100 protesters in front of the U.S. embassy in the capital, Jakarta. "How can they stop terrorism against the West if they always make Muslims angry?"
Well, golly, how can you live your life without making Muslims angry? Sheesh!
Here you go Henry.

I propose next time there's a tsunami in Indonesia, we remember this and keep our money and people home. Let them scream where is the United States to help us! Let them remember their actions.

Well thats a damned lot of muslims
"The Scriptures show that Turkey will play a major part in a future war against Israel."
In Rev. 1:1 John says the events foretold in his prophecy are near. He concludes the book with the same expectation, Rev. 1:1,3; 22:6,10 (Dan. 8:26; 12:4,9). "Coming on the clouds" is OT imagery for divine judgment, Isaiah 19:1, which was brought against Israel in AD 70. Those who want to take the entire book of Revelation literally cannot take these passages literally. They have to explain them away, violating their own exegetical principle.
John is writing to seven historical, first-century churches (1:4,11; chs. 2 and 3) in the midst of ongoing trials (1:9). One of the cries in Revelation is "how long" (6:10). The answer is, "a little while longer" (6:11).
He is "coming on the clouds" against those "who pierced Him," Zech. 12:10. Who pierved Him? Acts 2:22-23; 3:13-15; 5:30; 7:52; 10:39; 1 Thes. 2:14-15.
This "coming" is against "the tribes of the earth/land." The Greek word "gh" means either "land" or "earth." What “land” was of primary importance for the Jews when Jesus spoke?
The phrase "every eye shall see him," indicates the public nature of the judgment, namely, the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.
Having said this, I am fully in favor of the Jews' current response to Hizbollah. There is no doubt about the political legitimacy of their nation today. Were Lebanon as jealous of its territory as "Israel" is today, Hizbollah would not be there. But it is a mistake to tie its existence to any biblical idea of a return of the Jews to their homeland in our day. The prophecies used by chiliasts to do so refer to their return from Babylon under Nehemiah, not the reconstitution of "Israel" in 1948.
President Ramalamadingdong of Iran is an apocalyptic nut who forsees a world-ending war in the near future. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=16208 Unfortunately, some Christians also see an inevitable conflagration in the ME predicted in the Bible. They are about 1,934 years off base.
Jesus bracketed His remarks about the "end times" in Matthew 24 by saying, in Mt 23:36 & Mt 24:34, "Verily I say unto you, all these things shall come upon this generation," meaning the generation in which He lived. "These things" came upon that generatoin forty years later in AD 70. The "end times" were the last days of Israel under the Old Testament. There are no prophecies in the Old or New Testaments regarding modern Turkey.

Well, well, well … look at all the support for the islamists. Perhaps Israel should plan on an unconditional surrender of all of Israel and allow Condoleezza and Tony to negotiate a fourteen day time limit so that all Israeli citizens can safely get out of the region.
Why?
Because, if Israel doesn’t finish off their enemies now, they are, in a word, dead; and the rest of us will be living under islamic tyranny shortly afterwards if these two morons (Condi and Tony) aren’t gagged, hog-tied, and temporarily hidden in a closet somewhere until this thing is over!
Whore-hey! Let’s see how do you look in a Burka – a rich islamic oil man might have a position for you in one of his harems after your term in office expires! Stop snickering Tony – “yer next!”

Don't be overly concerned about supporting anyone involved in the creation of "Wolves". Unless you live in Turkey that is.
Gary Busey has never been in any movie worth watching that I can recall and Billy Zane, well I will boycott all his movies except for Tombstone and Memphis Belle. We didn't really need another excuse to avoid Titanic.

OT: Hizballah has launched a new Iranian missle, ominously named Khaybar 1. A History of Islam refresh.. Khaybar is the first Jewish town that Muhammad attacked, it is the town where many Jewish tribes sought sanctuary, after Muhammad dispossessed them, and before he picked up the courage to engage in mass genocide. A courage he found after he annhilated the Banu Qurayza in Yathrib (now called Medina).

The Turks became unfit to join any league of civilized nations in 1915 when they murdered 1.5 million Armenians.

How the Conservative Party in the UK is turning against the US and Israel
Spectator 29 July 2006
Here's the picture
And I thought the Labour Party was a problem. It seems the Conservative Party may yet prove a bigger one, if it ever gets power.
I never thought to see such terrible immoral goings on in my own country.
XNRES, theology student? It figures. Do you accept the virgin bith? the resurrection? Didn't think so.
The jihadists are all connected. I know that there is currently a split between the Shia and Sunni wings of Islam. But they hate the U.S. and Israel more than they hate each other. Further, Iran is connected through Syria to Lebanon, but Hezbollah is also connected to Iraq. See a good article today in the Asia Times about Nasrallah's influence -- and Hezbollah figher presence in -- Iraq. People have died in Iraq because of Nasrallah. So ... given the moral requirement for a government to protect the lives of its citizens, and moreover to protect and enable U.S. troops, I have called for the targeted assassination of Nasrallah at my web site, www.captainsjournal.com.
It is the moral thing to do.

Spread this far and wide people.
The sad part to all of this is that the people of the EU being only slighlty less anti Simetic than that of the average arab nation will see Turkey helping in the destruction of Israel as a good thing. They may come up with some PC answer amoutning to some lame slap on the wrist, but inside they will cheer. This really would only help Turkey in regards to joining the EU. This reminds me of the Holocaust memorial ceremony in France everal years ago, which was interruped by the voices of French Muslim 1st graders singing "Death to Jews" and "Death to Israel". The French thought it was cute nothing was done to stop it.
Free Women... your free from what?
I propose next time there's a tsunami in Indonesia, we remember this and keep our money and people home. Let them scream where is the United States to help us! Let them remember their actions.
freewoman we always seek Gods help. not the US. so we dont need people to help us or your money.
It's FreeWOMAN.
Oh please. You 're only fooling yourself.
Freewoman:
I propose next time there's a tsunami in Indonesia, we remember this and keep our money and people home. Let them scream where is the United States to help us! Let them remember their actions.
Unfortunately, nothing we do will please them, and you can't stop the people of the west who have big hearts from giving of their time, talents and money.
There will always be squawkers, no matter what we do.
I realize we can't stop people from donating. But, here again comes the tough love. Why enable these people to continue to preach jihad, mutilate girls and women and kill non muslims? There are people who truly need and appreciate our help and we don't mind that. But the scumsuckers who bitch about us and if we turn our backs on them ,will merrily shoot us in the back. They gladly eat, steal or suck from the truly needy. You would think after seeing us open our hearts and pocketbooks to them in times of need, would have a tendency to change their attitudes on their own. Sometimes they need to be forced to change.
freewoman,
Your words are right on. The likes of j101 just don't get it. Their arrogance reigns supreme, and that's about all they have going for them.
After every disaster striking their people, and there have been many lately ( they don't think it's GOD's will ), it has always been the West, or the infidels ( in their eyes ), who have been the first to come to their aid. Never a muslim group or country, because they are ONLY willing to help in the destruction, and the needless killings all over the world - in the name of their sick cult.
"XNRES, theology student? It figures. Do you accept the virgin bith? the resurrection? Didn't think so." -Carolyn2
Wow Carolyn2, I am just bowled over by the depth and breadth of your logical acumen and theological insight. Am I correct in assuming that in your church theology students are persona non grata? If so, it is no surprise that you are ignorant of the eschatology embraced by 99% of Christians, time out of mind.
Of course I "accept" the virgin bith & the resurrection, if it needs saying. Your presumption, however, that a 200 year-old heterodox eschatology is the bellwether of orthodoxy shows that your beliefs are quasi-cultish, and that you have never sat under the teaching of a theology student. You should check out two obscure books in the Bible named Galatians and Hebrews. Also, I would appreciate your dealing with my post, point-by-point. Can't? I thought so.
"Khaybar is the first Jewish town that Muhammad attacked, it is the town where "
Khaybar is also what muslims called the gateway to India. The Khaybar Pass now lies in what is called as afghanistan.
km: "To see the whole movie Obsession..."
Km. Thank you so much! I watched it. I find it amazing it was actually available full length on the internet and yours is the only post I have seen linking to it. The music was particularly powerful.
What did not escape my notice, however, was the way they set about from the get go, in trying to separate Muslims on the whole from the radical Islam they are portraying in the film. I understand why they are trying to do that and certainly they have a point in pointing out that "radical" Islam has killed as many if not more Muslims than it has killed non-Muslims but I think that is thoroughly besides the point. And it is a point that we are going to have honestly confront at some point.
Because the way I see it is that Muslims who are the victims of "radical" Islam are NOT "innocent" - "on par victims" as it were, just the same as infidels. For the obvious reason that this is THEIR religion! (Please, no canards here about hijacking a peaceful religion). The point is that we cannot possibly treat Muslims who adhere to this ideology (and who become its victims) as if they are equally innocent as the infidels who are the victims of this ideology. No. No can do.
Which in my opinion this film tries to do at its outset.
That is a fundamental flaw in the film (and notice how quickly they run there within the first 2 minutes). Of course its a widespread flaw at this point on the part of virtually everyone who wants to pretend that some extremists have hijacked the religion of peace. Rather unfortunately, this film doesn't take on that critical point directly.
Nevertheless, the film is quite powerful and ought to at least wake up those who have been thoroughly asleep altogether and didn't even realize there was a war on! (cough!).
OK. Whatever. I suppose we need to be thankful for small favors. Baby steps. Baby steps...
A friend sent this from another blog.
++++++++++++++
Dear Friends,
I have noticed a good deal of talk regarding the hope that exists in the West of a Reformation for Islam. There are two points I wish to make in response.
The first is regarding what exactly constitutes a "reformation." Historically the term refers to a decentralized group of reformation movements throughout western Europe in the 16th Century. But there is a significant gap between what the Reformers intended and actually accomplished. The complete picture is complex, but Calvin and Luther (among others) would be horrified to see the seemingly endless multiplication of Protestant-tradition churches we see today--that is, the continual splitting of denominations and ecclesial bodies.
The Reformers did, however, claim that they were returning Christianity to its original, if obscured, Apostolic and Biblical roots. There was a concrete and pervading desire to reject what the Reformers understood as traditions that departed from the original Biblical mandates. The relation of the believer to God was also made more direct, jettisoning the role of the priest or the bishop as the representative of Christ. The Reformers also introduced what were either entirely new or recovered principles of interpreting Scripture. Inherent in this entire and largely uncoordinated group of reform movements was a decentralization of power from the bishop of Rome (the Pope) to local pastors, congregations, laity, royalty, and governments.
So the second question is what would "Reformed Islam" look like? Well, it would discard centuries of traditions that people adopted to live with the presence of diversity and plurality--even taking into account how minor those accommodations were. It would also release the individual Muslim from accountability to his community, making him directly accountable to God and his mandate for perpetual and global jihad. It would finally lead to a proliferation of schools of interpretation, many of them accusing the other of faithlessness in right interpretation of the Qur'an.
I would therefore argue that we have in our midst a highly-Reformed Islam in the form of what is alternately called Wahabi or Salafi Islam. There is an interesting history behind each of the words and they are not identical. Suffice to say that followers of Salafiism understand themselves as interpreting and living out the Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of Muhammad) in accordance with the original and plain meaning understood by Muhammad and his companions (the salafi, which is Arabic for "predecessors.")
It was indeed this school of Reformed Islam that highly influenced the Taliban government in Afghanistan. Not for centuries have we seen a government that so faithfully and perfectly obeyed the pattern of the early Muslims (salafi). In other words, Afghanistan under the Taliban was Reformed Islam. It was Islam stripped of accretions not mandated by Muhammad or his companions (who play a role like the Apostles in many ways), who understood themselves as interpreting the Qu'ran plainly and simply, without the influence or intermediary of distracting scholars and philosophers and theologians.
Part of Reformed Islam is the return to active, vigorous and perpetual jihad, as was the custom of Muhammad and his companions. Muhammad himself was part of over 70 battles/raids during his own lifetime, very few of which were defensive. The expansion of jihad we see today is not radical or fundamentalist Islam. It is Islam in its most historically accurate and pure form.
