Muslim Scotland Yard officer may have attended Al-Qaeda camp

More fruits of the British dhimmis' refusal to confront the jihad ideology, which prevents their screening for it properly among Muslim applicants for sensitive positions. "Yard quizzes three Muslim officers in hunt for terrorist sleepers," from the TimesOnline, with thanks to Twostellas:

SCOTLAND YARD has placed one of its Muslim officers on restricted duties while it investigates intelligence that he may have attended a terror camp linked to Al-Qaeda in Pakistan.

The policeman — who firmly denies the allegations — is said by police sources to be one of three Muslim officers questioned in a Yard search for terror “sleeper cells” in its ranks.

The move follows disclosures earlier this month that Islamic terrorist sympathisers had attempted to infiltrate the intelligence services by applying for jobs in MI5.

It raises the risk of terrorist “fifth columnists” passing on information about secret operations and compromising the identities of undercover agents.

The Metropolitan police last week said that it would look at individual cases if there were concerns, but added that it was not reassessing the backgrounds of all its 400-500 Muslim staff....

The inquiry appears to have been triggered by the belated discovery that the officer made a trip to Pakistan before joining the police in 2001. He returned to Britain shortly after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

During an interview with the Yard’s secret vetting unit, which works closely with MI5, it was suggested he may have attended or associated with people at an Al-Qaeda training camp. The British-born officer, whose parents are from Pakistan, denies knowingly meeting terrorists....

The Association of Muslim Police (AMP) says there are two other investigations in which Muslim officers have been interviewed about trips to Pakistan.

Tahir Butt, secretary of the AMP, has raised the cases with senior management. He said that a policy which targeted Muslims and not other religions would be “wholly inappropriate”.

Sure, Tahir. I'm all for investigating Buddhist Scotland Yard men who attend Buddhist terrorist training camps also.

Well, well, when we think of the english, we often think of tea and crumpets. Perhaps in the future we will think more of Fladen-bread and Döner. Oh, how very un-PC of me :)

It's really terrifying how completely Jihadists have infiltrated Western societies. I'm not even talking about the possible sleeper cells, I'm talking about the way Muslim organizations coerce and threaten everyone into submission, even governments. They will do everything they can to prevent governments from taking effective measures againts Jihadists. And we let them, because we think that there's some cruel, systematic oppression againts Muslims that warrants the existence of countless Muslim organizations, all of which are of course very important and must be listened to.

"Sleeper cells" all over. Who knows, who can know, which Muslim who swears his "moderation" is a moderate in a permanent, or unfeigned sense? Google "Ten Things to Think About When Thinking About Moderate Muslims."

Do you fly out of a major airport? Before 9/11/2001, one never saw an identifiable Muslim checking passports and other documents as you go through security. Now I see them all over the place. A good move, you say? A way to ensure that a native speaker of Arabic is there? But why a devout Muslim, hijabbed, instead of all those many available native speakers of Arabic -- Copts, and Maronites, and Chaldeans, and Jews from Arab countries -- who are quite willing and able to read such documents, and who are unlikely to present such a security risk?

Oh, you say. There's another reason. We want a very visible symbol to travellers, Muslim and non-Muslims, that we have nothing against Muslims, no fear of the vast majority of Muslims who are "as horrified as we are at those who would hijack a great religion." What better way to show this than to have a hijabbed lady right there -- that will keep down any Muslim worries or indignation, and that is so important, don't you think? And we will signal to those non-Muslims who are in danger of becoming too suspicious about Islam that we, those whose job is security, trust these Muslims, and therefore so should you, the members of the flying public.

Don't you agree, on both counts?

No. And No.

I don't think the British public should worry about Muslim terrorists in the police. To prove it Blair should only have Muslim bodyguards.
He should take the same risk as us.

Now that's a good idea. Sadly, papa Tony only likes to risk the lives of innocent members of the public rather than his own. Nice idea though :)
