Of course. There are always new demands, and always will be, until the world is Islamized under Sharia and non-Muslims subjugated. But Western analysts, ignorant or careless of the jihad ideology, continue to assume that if we just hit on the right mixture of carrots and sticks (mostly carrots, of course), peace will ensue and all will be well.
"New demands from Palestinian militants," from AFP, with thanks to JE:
The three Palestinian militant groups that captured an Israeli soldier six days ago in the Gaza Strip demanded today that Israel free its Palestinian prisoners."We demand the release of 1,000 Palestinian, Arab, Muslim and other prisoners," said a statement signed by the Popular Resistance Committees, the armed wing of the governing Hamas and the Army of Islam.
The demands come amid claims that a second Israeli soldier had been kidnapped and would be killed unless Israel ends its military offensive in the Palestinian territories.
Israeli police later denied the claim that a second soldier had been snatched in the Palestinian territories.
Saturday's statement, entitled "military statement number two", did not explicitly specify that the releases were conditions for securing the freedom of 19-year-old army corporal Gilad Shalit.
The three groups said all the detained leaders of Palestinian movements as well as elderly and sick detainees should be freed and reiterated an earlier demand for the release of women and juvenile prisoners from Israeli jails.
Why is this fool Olmert carrying water for Abbas ?
Every last 'palestinean' belongs in Jordan - out of the West Bank, out of Gaza. "Land for Peace" must have the reverse connotation: you want sharia, you're gone, and the resultant depopulated land becomes an orange grove or a munitions factory or whatever other good use private property can put to.
Even after the islamists take over the world, there will STILL be demands from them.....it's who they are; and what they do.
We will not let them dictate the rules of the game. I'm just worried that Olmert isn't strong enough - that he'll blink first.
"The three Palestinian militant groups that captured an Israeli soldier"
I don't understand, it took three militant groups to capture one Israeli soldier?
Go God, the Creator of the universe. Show yourself strong against the enemies of Israel. Kinda like the 6 Day War. It's written in the Book.
Israel never accedes to demands. Releasing these prisoners would certainly create more Israeli casualties just as surely, If the the US released its prisoners in Cuba , there would certainly be American casualties that would be attributed directly by the released prisoners.
Both the US and Israel should be praised for not just killing its captives immediately as the Peaceful Religion of Islam does.
As oft is said, who would you rather be a prisoner of?
