It would seem more logical to me if the suicide bombers actual destination would be TelAviv or Haifa.

Now if only we could get some of these fat Mullahs and mad Almadinijad into the war zone as well.

IMO the only way to stop terrorist attacks world wide is to take out all the mullahs for miles around.

Maybe the Iranians will start implanting bombs inside childrens' bodies so every one of them will eventually grow up to be a splodey-dope

Dear Senator Snowe;

Thank you for representing my family. I am writing to express concerns that I have regarding the conflict in the Middle East. Given the stated intent of our enemy to take actions against our Country and the empowerment of individuals by modern weaponry, I think that additional controls, targeting immigration of individuals from Countries identified as State Sponsors of Terror and those identified with terrorist groups are justified. My thoughts are:

1. Immigration applications by citizens of nations identified as state sponsors of terrorism shall be endorsed by a Senator of the United States.
2. It shall be a crime to be a member or supporter of identified terrorist groups. Congress has the authority to define membership and support thresholds in accordance with the current threat environment. Individuals alleged to be in violation of the Section shall be identified as a battlefield combatant and be tried by military tribunal. Persons found guilty by the tribunal shall be immediately deported to their Country of Origin’s government.

I could probably be labeled ‘Jingoistic’ by these comments, but I think they are a fair and rational response to what I fear is a real threat. Good people from ‘bad’ Countries have a vehicle whereby they can achieve Citizenship at the same time that immigration applications from nations who have stated their intent to harm us are screened. Those among us who identify with terrorist groups have no business in the United States.

I saw a British conservative MP being interviewed tonight, and in his opinion there was absolutley NO miltary option for taking out Iran nuclear program, using the example of Iraq as what would happen if they tried. So the only option was to enter into dialogue with those charming mullahs and Amadjajabinks. Never mind his stated concern about Blair being treated like Bush's poodle, most politicians seem like pathetic poodles these days.

Time to dig my fallout shelter.

A Suicide Bomber in Paradise

The day is hot and dusty, and the bus engine moans like a dying giant, as I walk down the aisle to the center seats. I know what is about to happen. I have been here before, and yet, I am so afraid I am almost soiling myself, soaked in sweat, and the explosives in my bomb belt weigh on me like lead ingots. I look only at the floor in front of me, so the others cannot see my fear, but I know they can smell it. The prayers my leaders taught me echo in my mind, but the words do not calm my soul. They mock me. I feel a guilty anger toward those “leaders.” If my mission is so sacred, why have they not come along with me? Why is this mission worth my life, but not theirs? I push aside unfaithful thoughts, and try to imagine Paradise.

In the center of the bus, I reach under my jacket for the switch that will detonate blocks of plastic explosive with screws and wire wrapped around them. During the Iran-Iraq war, many Iranian boys as young as 14 years of age, proudly volunteered to walk the mine fields to clear it for solders to go through. All they get is a name registered as martyrs.

What was the name of this MP? What else has he written about the Middle East? What interest in, or knowledge of, military matters does he appear to have? Why does he think that an attack to damage, and degrade, the nuclear project must necessarily be accompanied by a large land force, as in Iraq, and that such a force would remain for 1, 2, 3, 4, years? On what basis does he offer up such a -- what is it? -- "scenario"? Perhaps he is merely attempting to insist that nothing can be done because he is one of those who doesn't want anything to be done, and therefore insists that 1) only complete destruction of everything connected to the nuclear project will do when of course there are all kinds of ways to damage and degrade something, and then to go back at a later date for more 2) he may be of the "conservative" appeasement school, that wishes to force Israel to give up its own weaponry as the "only way" to get Iran to disarm. It is nonsense, of course, because the Iranians will never give up their nuclear weapons project no matter what, and only force, or the threat of great economic damage, can possibly remove that threat).

Here's an example of that phenomenon (still don't know if that "conservative MP" was of the appeasement, throw-Israel-to-the-wolves school, but if you supply his name here, I'll see what he's on record as having said and written): William Odom, or rather, Lt. Gen. William Odom (ret'd.), who offered up a full half-hour of pure, unadulterated, unapologetic antisemitism disguised as "thoughtful" measures to be undertaken to "solve" the so-called "crisis" caused by Israel's attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon. He, Odom, whose work at the National Security Agency certainly needs to be examined, investigated, to see just what questions he was asking, what data he was gathering, what advice he was giving, to policymakers, about all sorts of things -- about Islam, about the use of Saudi revenues to promote the Jihad, about Islamic jurisprudence and the relevance of Hudaibiiyah to any agreements made between any Arab or Muslim state or group and the Infidel state of Isarel, about so much else.

When someone tells Israel to kill itself, in order to solve the "problem" in the Middle East -- and that someone also carefully ignores the appearance of that "problem" in Thailand, in the Philippines, in Indonesia, in Pakistan and India and Bangladesh, in the Sudan, in Nigeria, in all the countries of Western Europe in which millions of Muslims have been allowed to settle behind what they themselves are taught to regard as enemy lines, one realizes that one has one more example of the phenomenon of someone so consumed by anti-Israel bias, a bias that we commonly know as antisemitism (shrill cries of denial, shrill insistence that "all those who dismiss 'legitimate criticism' of Israel as antisemitism show just to what levels they will stoop.") and that now constitutes, as it did in the late 1930s, a security threat to the Western world. If the Odoms of this world cannot be bothered to study Islam, to see the manifestations of Jihad, and the varied instruments, of Jihad, around the world, and insist manically in focussing on tiny Israel, and on blaming Israel for wishing to withstand the Lesser Jihad that has been waged against it not only since the State of Israel was founded, but against the Jews of Mandatory Palestine long before the state was founded, then they are of no value, no use. But they bear watching, because they are security risks, because of their mental makeup, to Infidels everywher, including those who are indifferent to Israel but would like, nonetheless, to have the problem of the belief-system of Islam properly recognized and understood.

The Odoms of this world get in the way. And that "conservative MP" with his strange passivity about Iran's nuclear weapons may be another of the well-known type. One would have to know more about him.

Why would we even need to occupy Iran to destroy its nuclear capacity? We have proven our ability to topple governments in record time. Saddam lasted 3 weeks. Without the U.S. Iraq would be in the middle of a long civil war. During the Chaos of a civil war a state would lack the stability and internal oragization required to pursue nuclear or missile technology. With air and sea power we cripple Irans military and nuclear sites, then we roll in whoopin' and a whoppin' every livin' thing within' an inch of its life untill we topple the government, locate and destroy all nuclear sites, and personel within the programs. Then roll out the way we came in. This surely would spark a civil war as factions would want to rise to power. Iran would be too busy to meddle in Iraq or Lebanon, and would be unable to pursue nuclear arms. If after 30 years we get another confrontational government rinse and repeat as needed.

So far damage estimates are in the millions of rials.

Chanting “death to Islamic pigs” and “Crusaders will kill you all”, about 5000 rioters stormed through Old Tehran setting fire to shops and mosques. The Pope mobilized the Swiss Guard and again called for a Holy Crusade against Islam, with large crowds outside St Peter’s angrily thundering “Deus vult! Deus vult!" ("God wills it") in response to a mass condemning Muslims to hellfire and perdition. He was echoed by Pat Robertson in the United States, who insisted that the only way to reform Islam is by blood and the sword. “God will pick up the pieces in Heaven according to his Will”, said Robertson. “Our job is to bring his Will to earth”.

Jerry Falwell and other more moderate Christian leaders claimed that Christianity is a religion of peace. “Our Father is a kind God and would never condone violence in the streets” he said, “but I can understand why some Christians feel affronted by this direct attack on a Holy Man”. The Iranian Minister of Immigration Harad bin Milquetoast, in an effort to stop the rioters, has pledged new job creation programs and changes in the school curriculum to reflect Christian values. “We need to build a more inclusive society”, said bin Milquetoast, “one that reflects tolerance and diversity”. He announced plans for the creation of a committee to study the viability of allowing trial by combat, trial by ordeal, and the use of chastity belts for consenting Christians living in Iran. The committee will also review plans to remove the name “Allah” from school literature, and purge all Islamic material from school libraries. Bin Milquetoast also urged people to refer to “the holiday season” instead of “Ramadan” to avoid the appearance of religiocentrism.

Shrime al Commonsense, an opposition critic of the Iranian regime, claimed that immigrants should accept that they are no longer in the countries of their origin, and that they ought really to accept the customs and mores of their new homes. He was quickly branded a racist by the Peace Coalition (PC) , a group of Iranian activists dedicated to harmonious relations between religions. “This kind of rightwing intolerance is the root of the problem”, the group said in a statement issued earlier today. “We all need to learn to be less offensive to people. Instead of criticizing the actions of Christians, let’s be more sensitive to their needs”.

Amid Ahem Turgidarf, a sociologist in Tehran, suggests that the true causes behind the riots have more to do with racism in the Middle East than with religion. “Irish immigrants and indeed all European immigrants are understandably angry over the ghettoization they face in the Middle East”, he claimed. "Clearly more education is required."

I'd be very interested to know who that was myself. Having nothing else to go on, I've spent some time attempting to find a record of said "interview".

As far as Conservative MP's are expressing their opinions on the subject, they all seem to be saying the same thing: Do not rule out the Military option.

The only solid statements I can dig up that opposed the military option, were those of former foreign secretary Jack Straw; Those statements ultimately being the cause of his being "reshuffled" out of his position.

I am so sick of seeing "American", "Canadian" and "European" refugees demanding to be flown or shipped out of Lebanon!
Suddenly those Lebanese become good, loyal Americans, Canadians and Europeans when they are running for their lives!
They interview those people constantly over here and ask them what it was like in Lebanon.
Of course the women are all wearing their headscarves, speaking in broken German, talking about how "merciless" and "barbaric" the Israelis are! The muslims want us to believe that Israel has no right to defend itself, regardless of what their terrorists decide to do to them.
