An attack on a Sydney synagogue may have been fueled by anger over the Middle East conflict and the spiraling civilian death toll in Lebanon, a rabbi said Monday....Concrete blocks smashed the windows of two cars, and other projectiles were hurled at the synagogue roof. Shortly after the incident, witnesses told police they saw a group of about 10 Middle Eastern men laughing and running down a nearby street.
Werner said the conflict between Israel and Lebanon might have been a trigger for the attack.
"I don't see how people could link something that is going on the other side of the world to a small family synagogue," the 32-year-old Werner told reporters. "I feel a little sorry for them, that they think that is an appropriate action."
If they are so bleedin' angry about their brothers taking a beating from Israel, then what were they laughin' at?
Who says they were Muslims? Look, anybody can vandalize Jewish property when Israel is engaged in a war againts Muslims... it could have been a group of Amish revolutionaries! Are they doing racial profiling or something?
so what will it take to start realizing that allowing these muslim immigrants into western countries is a mistake. I do believe the senitment is slowly changing here in Canada as their is more talk about how multiculturalism is a failure. but the majority of the sheep still think it is a good thing for the simple reason that they don't know what multiculturalism actually means. Most people think that without multiculturalism it would be open season on immigrants. STop muslim immigration. Even better intern the ones that are here in camps until we can prove they are safe. This won't happenn of course.

multiculturalism is NOT a failure. Islam is a religion first, a culture second. The problem is with the clash of ideologies, the judeo/christian ideology being one of life, the islamic ideology (by their own admission, not my words) one of death.
In the USA there are a great number of cultures that live side by side in peace and in harmony. Though many have often rubbed each other the wrong way, none have wanted to wipe the others out (I am leavin g the american indian out of this, that is a discussion for another day) until the muslims came along.
The problem is not with multiculturalism. The problem is clearly with islam.

Sorry to pick on you but this is a prime example of someone who doesn't understand what multiculturalism is. Even though the elite in the US media and key organizations are officially multicultural the American policy as I understood was one of a melting pot not a multicultural policy where everyone remains a hypenated american. You are correct there are many americans of different backgrounds living side by side this does not mean that multiculturalism is the cause of this. Most times it produces the opposite. Multiculturalism is an ideology that is a branch of moral relativism, It combines cultural relativism with cultural marxism. On one hand all cultures are equal so there is no need for one to become fully canadian or american and who are we to question people who are not. Cultures such as islam are not backwards who are we to even question them, in fact maybe its us that are wrong. On the other hand there is an exception to the rule all cultures are equal there is one culture that is not equal the evil western culture. It is the root of all evil and it should be destroyed. This is an oversimplification but in a nutshell I just described multiculturalism. For most of America's history it was melting pot. People from all cultures were welcome with open arms and as they became americans fully they were able to keep aspects of their culture that were important to them such as religion while adopting american culture. And american culture was flexible adopting what was good from each culture while remaing one culture binding the nation. This is important for two reasons. People become unified as one nation and I honestly believe this preserves culture. In Canada we have no culture for immigrants to contribute too. and immigrants either never become assimilated or if they do they have no culture as there isn't a Canadian one anymore and any aspect of their old one that is good is lost as there was no culture there to adopt what was good from it.

Where has multiculturalism ever worked in the long term? It can not even function in Canada between anglophones and francophones.

I think your "oversimplifications" are right on target. Multiculturalism is an altogether destructive force. That is the characteristic it shares with Islam. Multiculturalism is the gleeful facilitator of the Islamic penetration and subversion of Australia, Britain, the USA, and everywhere else "multi-culti" holds influence. As you suggest, multiculturalism is the ideological locus of a massive moral failure to make rational distinctions in defense of civilization.

In Europe these sort of things go on all the time. More often than not they are swept under the carpet.
Today for example, in the region of Basle two people were wounded by a "young man" running amok with an axe on open street.
This item is published more or less like this, no mre details, on the national news. You need to scour dozens of press releases to glean even a faint whisper of some background.
Finally, one newspaper (www.blick.ch) breaks the ranks, and in a side note mentions that the "young man" is a 42 year old Turkish citizen living in Liestal, near Basle. "His motives are not known".
One wonders what these motives might be.
Meanwhile on the evening news, district attorney Albert Augustin reveals that the man is well known to the authorities. He threatened several people before, which resulted in proceedings in the past which were all discontinued. The motives are not known.

Relax people. We have our most feared police officer on the job here; Police Commissioner Uncle Ken Moroney. Uncle Ken has just finished reviewing the TV footage of the Cronulla riot of December 2005 and feels sure that arrests are imminent but first he'll have to check his contract to see if he's allowed to arrest muslims. He's waiting for someone in his department to lose the file which contained car registration numbers of muslim youths who assembled near Bankstown just prior to launching reprisal attacks following the riot in Cronulla.
Is there any chance the report of the current incident might be lost? Not a chance.
He's SORRY for them? Yes, I can see how an educated and humane man may think this way, but we no longer have the luxury of 'feeling sorry' for them.
My fear is that Australia may be forced to accept more Muslim refugees from Lebanon because of this war - and that would be a major catastrophe for Australia.
Of course this couldn't POSSIBLY be viewed as a hate crime since they were laughing. And since no one saw themn actually do it it does not mean that men who were middle Eastern in appearance were the perpetrators. They could have been laughing and having a good time while running to a Gay Pride meeting.
