This is not surprising. After all, the British authorities, like all Western authorities, don't even know what questions to ask in order to screen for this sort of thing. "Radical past of top Whitehall Islamic aide," from the TimesOnline, with thanks to Anon:
DISTURBING details have emerged about the radical background of the chief adviser on Islamic affairs at the Foreign Office.Mockbul Ali, a 26-year-old civil servant, was involved in a Muslim student group that has published material supporting Palestinian female suicide bombers.
The Union of Muslim Students (UMS), which has been repeatedly praised by ministers as a paragon of moderate Islam, also carried articles in its newspaper by Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a Qatar-based preacher banned from entering America.
Leaked documents show that since joining the Foreign Office Ali has argued for Qaradawi to be allowed into Britain and played a part in sending Sharif Hasan al-Banna, president of the UMS, to Islamic conferences in Indonesia and Nigeria at taxpayers’ expense.
If he is a terrorist, then he should be treated as such. End of line.
Sharif Hasan al-Banna? Any relation?
"Leaked documents"? Does that imply that so fierce is the debate within the British government, that those alarmed by the presence, and influence, of this clear agent of Jihad within the British government, did not get their way and had to resort to the desperate act of "leaking documents" about him to arouse the press and through it, the public? Has it come to that in Great Britain? Where an agent of Islam cannot easily be dislodged?
Dear Hugh
Please download and read this pdf document for the full story. The left wing political editor of The New Statesman is called Martin Bright and he has published a pamphlet about this, including how and when the details were leaked. He also made a documentary for Channel 4 on the subject.
There is basically a war going on inside the Foreign Office, between Islamist friendly Arabists and those who want this appeasement to stop. It is an interesting read and worth your time.

I read what the link offered. Many good points, but also some not so good, some in which it is maintained that there is this perfectly acceptable "majority" of peaceful Muslims whom the Foreign Office is ignoring. The article does not go far enough, does not analyze Islam, does not consider Ibn Warraq's lapidary formulation "There are moderate Muslims. Islam itself is not moderate."
So, my enthusiasm is not curbed, entirely, for the piece, but not full-throated either.
If you are a member of the British National party you will find it very difficult to get work. If you are a terrorist or terrorist supporter you have jobs literally thrown at you. Suicide bombing is approved by the British government, Mr Blair's foul wife was even quoted as supporting them.
Hugh
It is a start. Small steps. At least people like the editor of the left wing New Statesman are beginning to realise the cancer there. The rest will follow as the belligerence increases, when the next bombs go off in a synagogue in Manchester, or a shopping centre in London, and the same old vampires start proclaiming that it is the eviscerated victims fault, start their two faced weasel words of condemnation. The truth will become plain to even those people slowly. The Maududi and Qutb graduates in the home office and writing for the Guardian are feeling the heat. Everything in small steps.
How about a group of British citizens making a symbolic seizure of Bush House? They should be carrying placards, each with a different Qur'anic verse written clearly on it, or a Hadith, with such statements as "War is deception" (Muhammad) or perhaps even a few reading "Taqiyya" or "Aisha" or "Asma bint Marwan" and then, in slightly smaller letters, an explanation of what those words refer to.
Seizing the Bastille was nothing. A symbolic march by thousands of enraged English men and women on Bush House -- that's what is needed.
Cisoux
Quite right. The truth is coming out, not just about the Foreign Office, the Home Office and its treasonous policy of allowing dangerous terrorists and criminals into the country. More and more people are questioning the veracity of the BBC.
The BBC is the font of most of the anti-Israel and pro-islamic propaganda that is broadcast around the world. Most people around the world trust the BBC because of its past reputation. In the last 20 years, from around the time of the Lebanese civil war, the BBC has been taken over by Guardianistas ie Marxists under a Liberal coat. The BBC openly conducts propaganda for causes that will give rise to statist policies.
Hugh
The chances of direct action of that kind happening soon are remote. One or two more attacks and the whole tenor of things will change. It takes a while to melt the iceberg that floats in the water. Already you see books like Melanie Philip's 'Londonistan' and Martin Bright's documentary beginning to question the basic tenets of the Islamist-multiculturalist settlement. People are generally cynical and pessimistic. I see signs that things are changing. Letter writing campaigns to the BBC and other Islamist sympathetic media organisations can be sustainable pressure over the long term. About to start on BBC1 in five minutes is a documentary about how British Muslim charities support Hamas. That is just another small example of how critical voices are getting through. As I said, small steps, one at a time. Things are turning our way slowly.
Is anyone surprised??Am heartened that some of the media are beginning to expose the jihadists in OUR midst AT LAST.This is just the tip of the iceberg though in Londonistan. If only someone could get hold of the number & names of Muslim journos working at BBC who either hide behind English sounding names or write their poison anonymously-this would be a real coup.
Morgane
It is not just muslims in the BBC, it is BBC policy to be Islam-friendly. The truth of islam is aweful, really there is no choice but to cover it up - and the BBC does so exceedingly well.

Faith, Hate and Charity
It is worth your time. It traces the links between Hamas and the 'charity' Interpal, the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood, and has interviews with American officials and outlines the America connection with this all. I really believe that you will find it useful and interesting.
Bear in mind that this coruscating investigation into Muslim Brotherhood machinations in Britain (mark the final five minutes of the show) was broadcast on BBC1 Sunday evening. This is an example of how brave journalists are getting the message through about the repellent and pernicious Muslim Brotherhood. The conclusion could not be more straightforward in naming the enemy.
I hope you can find the time to watch the documentary and that it can be of help to you.
