US Accused of Siding With 'Criminals and Jihadists' in Kosovo

Dr. Artemije Radosavljevic speaks truth to power. From CNSNews.com, with thanks to Sparta:

(CNSNews.com) - A prominent Serbian Orthodox bishop Thursday said the U.S. was allowing Islamic extremists to wage war on Christians in Kosovo by deciding not to oppose Kosovo's independence.

Kosovo is an autonomous province in Serbia with a population of about 2 million, most who are ethnic Albanian and Muslim. It is currently administered by the United Nations Interim Administrative Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), but negotiations which began this year are expected to eventually result in independence for the province.

However, Dr. Artemije Radosavljevic on Thursday issued a warning about the prospect of and independent Kosovo.

"At a time when America is leading the free world in a global struggle against jihad terror, Kosovo-Metohija must not continue to be an exception, where for reasons we do not understand, American officials have taken the side of the criminals and jihadists," Artemije said during a news conference in Washington, D.C.

Artemije, the bishop of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija, has traveled to the United States on several occasions to meet with government officials and urge them to oppose independence for Kosovo.

He told reporters that the region has become a "black hole of corruption and crime" since it became a protectorate of the United Nations in 1999, following NATO bombings that were intended to encourage then-Serbian President Slobodan Milosovic to withdraw his forces from Kosovo.

Since 1999, the Kosovar Albanians have targeted Serbian Orthodox Christians, according to Artemije, allegedly burning down more than 150 churches, driving more than 220,000 Christians from the region and killing thousands more.

Granting Kosovo independence from Serbia would make Serbian Christians more vulnerable to violence from the region's Muslim majority.

"Detaching Kosovo from democratic Serbia," Artemije said, "would mean a virtual sentence of extinction for my people in the province and create a rogue state in which the terrorists are the government."

He added that there have been thousands of Christians captured and killed by Muslim extremists, including numerous videotaped beheadings. "Why are jihad beheadings an outrage in the rest of the world, but not when they're happening in Kosovo to Christian Serbs?" Artemije asked.

"At a time when America is leading the free world in a global struggle against jihad terror ..."

I'll have to disagree with Dr. Artemije Radosavljevic; we are not leading. I need someone to provide an example of this leadership. Israel is currently leading the fight, but no one is following. Our President is doing nothing, nothing. Iraq and Afghanistan will never have anything but sham democracies with a theocratic lid.

In 2002 there was hope and promise from this President, now there is no hope and no promise. The prospect of the Democrats winning congress this year is disheartening to say the least. I am very afraid of what will happen in '08.

This administration is still fixated on al Qeda as the boogyman of terrorism. We will have terrorism (jihad) as long as there is Islam.

I have been doing some reading on Serbia and am depressed by what I got so far. The world is afraid to draw new boundries for infidels, but if muslims draw new boundries it is fine with everybody. muslims are succeding because the world leaders are terrified of occupying new territory, thinking that all the lines have already been drawn and all the history has already been created. They are wrong.

So much misconception surrounds Kosovo & Bosnia in the USA. In my opinion, the problem lies with the press and it's focus on Slobodan Milosevic. They jumped all over the supposed ethnic differences while completely ignoring the islamic jihadists. I think this type of misconception exists with Chechnya to a lesser extent.

Our politicans see it as ethnic division rather than global jihad. That may have been an excuse back in the 90's, but I don't know why our politicans don't reexamining this flaud view??

I also don't know why Russia is not doing more to support Serbia??? Maybe they are no better than the USA, selling out the Serbs but for different reasons???

Exactly. In this busy hurry up world most people just hear snippets of news or "sound-bites". So they just heard some guy in Bosnia or somewhere was killing a lot of poor defenseless people. They do not go deeper into the conflict, they accept the press' account.
I always questioned why we were bombing a Christian (former WWII ally) in favor of muslims.

arjun.sevak, Western leaders are still in an appeasement mode. Our leaders erroneoulsy believe that somehow we are responsible for Their (moslem) grievances. If we give Them this country and that country, soon They will be satisfied. Can we buy peace? They won't be satisfied until They have it all. Until we get a crop of leaders with courage and intelligence, Creeping Islamism will continue and They will be successful. The only way the Western World will be untimately saved is if the Creeping Jihad becomes a Gunpowder Jihad; otherwise, we will wake up one morning and find our wives in burkas and lime pits for graves. When Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, anamists, and all the rest finally say "Enough is enough," it will become an all-out red hot war, with strontium 90 in the survivors' bones.

The answer: Former President Bill Clinton and other people in his administartion such as Sandy Berger and Madeline Albright.

The military battle in Serbia wasn't portrayed in the west as a religious war.

It was portrayed as an ethnic war.

Christopher Layne wrote an interesting article that was published on the Cato Institute's website. His article will give you some more answers. I posted the link below.

Unfortuntaley, western coverage during the bombing of Belgrade did not give the western viewer a glimpse into the violent tactics that Kososvo Muslims sucessionists used to provoke the aggression by the Serbs. Nor did they provide the viewer with a historical perspective about why the war was being waged in the first place.

Muslim aggressions against the Christian Serbs was never mentioned.

This is President Clinton’s baby, I guess the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Yes, this information is correct.

How come there is no outcry from Christians in the west?

Hardly any one knows about what the Kosovar Albanians are doing to the Serbian Orthodox Christians. Unfortunately, the western media does not show any coverage.

Religious conflicts that involve Muslims and Christian is a thorny subject to cover in the news.

Most western media groups chose to stay silent on this issue.

Those who do know what is occurring in Kosovo wrongly believe that the Kososvo Albanians deserve to strike back against the Serbs.

"Why are jihad beheadings an outrage in the rest of the world, but not when they're happening in Kosovo to Christian Serbs?"

Frankly, there is not much outrage for the beheadings in the rest of the world either.

There is not much outrage because everyone knows that Muslims act worse than animals, they do as they are expected. When a money throws it's ow faeces at the zookeeper it isn't news. WHen Muslims kill and maim, again, it is no great surprise. When the Koran is in, Evolution takes several steps backward.

..stopping jihad is like making sausage

messy to see

we destroyed the Serb resistance to jihad and killed Milosovic

we killed a fighter trying to stop the jihad in Kosovo

it was a terrible criminal tragedy

charlston,
You said it. We saw 'Behind Enemy Lines' and fell for the mass graves. That these graves were retributions for the thousands of Serbians killed by muslims never was brought up by the media. Milosevic remains, for me, a leader who at least understood the problem, and tackled it.

Pelayo: The US and the UK are leading the war on *global* jihad. Israel is only seeing to its own interests, fighting local jihadists. The Mossad has not tried to assasinate AlQaeda's leadership, for example. All they care about is Hamas & Hezbollah.

arjun.sevak

I would not be surprised if the muslims didn't kill these people themsleves

nothing those animals do would surprise me

the only thing the US has accomplished in Kosovo is the give the jihadists confidence that their manifest destiny over the world will happen and further embolden them to become anti american and wage the jihad. Meanwhile the US has also shown ingratitude to a WWII ally and caused great harm to them. Clinton and Albright were the architects of this fiasco Bush has proven he is no better.

Michael Moore really showed he was a hypocrite when he threw his weight behind Wesley Clark. He went from being Apolitical to political because he didn't like the Iraq war yet he endorsed a man who broke international law by bombing a tv station. In a war that was illegal not just by international laws but by US laws as congress did not give the first perv permission. I like how the going alone argument was made against bush for not going thru the UN even though he tried. While Clinton didn't bother. I guess to be multilateral this can only happen if you have the liberal MSN cheering you on.

arjun.sevak

In reality, a complete lack of mass graves is why Milosevic eventually dropped dead in jail with no conviction. The only mass graves found were combat-age casualties, men and teens.

It was all a big lie. But the media would never hold a Clinton to account for a war based on actual lies.

I believe the media was complicit in a Pallywood (Palestinians - whoever that is - are noted for faking news footage of "casualties") type ruse just as the media shows "casualties" in Lebanon today. Ever see such healthy people being improperly dumped in ambulances?

Pissedoff. Right. Right Right on Clark. Wes is a fool. Interviewed on FOX news recently, he went off on a diatribe against Bush and among the sewage out of his mouth was a defence of 'all that was right' in Kosova as compared to the Bush adventure in Iraq. Then he said there was no terrorism in Jordan until W came to power. Jordan has always been peaceful, without terror(he was referring to the hit on the hotels a few years back).

Quite a selective memory! Kosovo. The "evil" Serbs killing the "good" Kosovors as potrayed and rammed down out throats by Christianne Ammanpour, AKA Mistress Dhimmi, married to J. Rubin, Madeline Albrecht's press assistant.

And this lovely tidbit from this piece:

"Since 1999, the Kosovar Albanians have targeted Serbian Orthodox Christians, according to Artemije, allegedly burning down more than 150 churches, driving more than 220,000 Christians from the region and killing thousands more. "

That's a mouthfull. Not a word about this in the mainstream press. Silence. But the shame of Israeli war planes hitting Lebanon is broadcasted in prime time. Kill a few thousand Christians in the Balkans, Burn a few hundred Churches, nobody gives a crap.

Getting back to Wesley Clark, who lives a hop skip and a jump from me! With neighbors like that . . . . Clark said there was no terror in Jordan before W. As if W is responsible for Jihad. Perhaps there was no Jihad before W as well?? Does Wesley forget Black September when planes were being blown sky high in 1970 and the late King Hussein killed thousands of lovely Palis?? No, no terror here . . . move right along, nothing to see here! The forced exodus of Palis from Jordan lead to what next wonderful event????? You guessed it! Lebanon and the Lebanese "civil war."

While we are forever beaten over the heads with the evil Sharon and his zionist gang allowing a Phalangist Christian group to rampage through the Pali Sabra and Shatila camp commiting war crimes. The question should be asked. Why? Did the Christians suddenly wake up and decide to kill Palis without pretext? Or was this a classic case of pay back. Revenge for over a hundred thousand dead Christians, including Priests who were beheaded?

You don't need to have the knowledge base(or eloquence)of Fitzgerald, Spencer or Steve Emerson to understand Jihad. How hard is it to crack a book open or two, google Jihad, read a history of the Lebanese Civil War, or whatever. Our leaders and policy wonks should stop posturing in their pancake makeup for a few moments and read a book or two.

What I can't figure is why that arch Zionist Sen Joe Lieberman, and other neo cons and Zionists supported the Bosnian and Kosovarian Muslims?

One of my least favorite times in my military career was in Kosovo. I watched a PSYOP Soldier try to explain to a Serb that despite all the shootings, kidnappings, bombings and other Albanian terrorist acts that the Multi-National forces were going to bring stability to the province!
I found it comical that the insignia the Kosovo civil defense corps or whatever the hell they were called looked just like the KLA UCK patch!
Kosovo killed the "religion of peace" myth forever in my mind...
If Slobodan was guilty of being anything, it was being a zombie killer.

biorabbi good post I totally agree. its funny how people don't realize King hussein of Jordan killed more palestinians than any other country has. And I like how Sharon was blamed for Phalangist's taking revenge.

What I can't figure is why that arch Zionist Sen Joe Lieberman, and other neo cons and Zionists supported the Bosnian and Kosovarian Muslims?

Because the "neoconservatives" haven't got a clue.

The so-called "neoconservative" foreign policy - which is essentially liberal interventionism under another name - depends on the absurd notion that the political order of the West is to be summed up as "democracy". Furthermore, it is assumed that "democracy" is merely a set of proceedures that is detachable from the conditions that gave rise to it and readily exportable anywhere.

As Hugh has said so often here it is assumed by so many people that everyone wants "freedom" and "democracy". Bush himself believes this. The British Labour Party suffers under the same delusion. I've posted this link here before, but, in case anyone missed it, here it is again - Tony Blair's best known Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook, explaining how, unlike the dastardly Conservative Party, Labour will pursue an "ethical foreign policy". An "ethical foreign policy" turns out to mean intervening all over the place "promoting democracy around the world".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/indonesia/Story/0,2763,190889,00.html

As to why proponents of "neoconservatism" or "liberal interventionism" or an "ethical foreign policy" or whatever name you want to put to it - will meddlers do? - should have wanted to meddle in the Balkans on the one side rather than the other - they thought Milosevich was a threat to "democracy". Of course, they may not have been wholly wrong: he was an ex-Party apparatchik. However, nothing was quite as simple as they imagined. Rather like Iraq.

Some great posts about the vilification of the Serbs.

Kosovo was surely a low point in Western policy making.

In the Milosevic trial the prosecution's best witness was a failed British politico, Paddy Ashdown, who later admitted to perjury.

He was supposedly a key eye witness who'd visited Albania, on the Albanian-Yugo border, and witnessed Serb military formations burning villages.

He was forced to admit later, during the defence case, that from where he said he was, it was impossible ( due to a mountain being in the way ) to see these villages aflame.

So he changed his story, and said he was at a different location.

Inside Yugoslavia.

However, this meant that the prosecution's key EYE WITNESS was unaware of the country he was in, thereby completely destroying his credibility as an EYE WITNESS.

And so the panto continued.

None of which was reported in the Western media.

yes the usa did side with muslim jihadist when it came to kosovo

clinton bombed serbia and invaded kosovo but why is clinton only to blame when Bush also has the same foreing policy on kosovo Bush is just as bad it was only a few weeks ago condi met with a kla terrorist cant you people just wake up and relise America doest care about the world and just wants to use muslims jihadist as a weapon against russia and yugoslavia so they could break up russia and yugoslavia because the usa is anti orthodox christianity. i think America should just mind its own business about bosnia and chechnya and kosovo and withdraw there illegal bases from kosovo and bosnia and just leave us orthodox christians alone and take the trash albanian muslims with them and give them a kosovo in florida or somewhere else in america

America doest care about the world and just wants to use muslims jihadist as a weapon against russia and yugoslavia so they could break up russia and yugoslavia because the usa is anti orthodox christianity.

It's a natural enough reaction. But I don't suppose George Bush ever thinks about the Orthodox Church or civilization let alone rejects them. I suspect there are not deep-laid plans here - merely idiocy. Stupidity - or more likely laziness - even at the highest levels, seems to be more common than people realize.

God help us all. It's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.

God bless this orthodox bishop, he is right, the serbians are suffering this criminal western politics.

Where are the Russians during all of this? Shouldn't they be taking a more active role??? Seems like they dropped the ball also...

I believe that the situation of the Serbs in Kosovo if foreign terrorists use Kosovo as a base to launch attacks. Maybe then, the rest of the world will finally learn about what the Kosovo Serbs are going through. I just hope that when that happens, it will be not too late for the Serbs in Kosovo.

Bill Clinton attended Yale, right there in New Haven CT. For those of you who haven't been there, New Haven is a run-down hell-hole of a slum, and Yale is a third rate college swirling with self-congratulatory rich kids with IQs hovering around 90 or so.

Our next President, as appointed by the MSM, met the reprehensible Bill when she was reading at this very same ghetto subintellectual college. Hillary is an actual Yale graduate, and she's as stupid as they come. Laura Ingraham just can't restrain herself from constantly remarking on how smart Hillary is. For example, what a great job this Yale Alum did with our healthcare system. Yale.

"Stupidity - or more likely laziness - even at the highest levels, seems to be more common than people realize."
-- from a posting above

That reminds me.

Biorabbi,
Of course the Christian Lebanese had a motive for a massacre like Sabra-Shatila, considering all the massacres of their people at the hands of the PLO gangs that got very little attention in the outside world [Damour, etc.]. But Syria seems to have been behind the Sabra-Shatila massacre, and also seems to have had Bashir Gemayel murdered. Elie Hobeika, who led the Phalange forces into Sabra-Shatila after Gemayel was murdered, was himself a Syrian agent [see the book by Robert Hatem, called Cobra. Also see Barbara Newman's book on Lebanon.]

The Syrians gained from both the Gemayel murder and the Sabra-Shatila massacre. Gemayel challenged their desired hegemony over Lebanon. Assad the Elder had a grudge against Arafat for tricking him time after time and also the PLO might have challenged his hegemony over Lebanon. Thirdly, by getting the massacre blamed on Israel, he got Israel out of there, thus eliminating another obstacle to his hegemony in Lebanon. Of course, Judeophobes in the West were all too happy to blame Sabra-Shatila on the Jews/Israel.

By the way, although it was widely known that Elie Hobeika commanded the Phalange unit that actually perpetrated the massacre, he was made a minister in the Lebanese govt under Hariri in the 1990s [if I am not mistaken] because of his being a protege of Syria, indeed a traitor to the Maronites. Now, the PLO never complained, as far as I know, certainly not very vocally, over Hobeika's presence in the Lebanese govt. The blame was all focussed on Israel and Sharon, while the chief perpetrator was overlooked. Of course, the mendacious international press was not interested in this absurd situation.
