Matthias Küntzel speaks truth to power in Der Spiegel (thanks to MP):
The natural reaction to the current violence in the Middle East is one of horror. It's time for a cease-fire, right? Not necessarily. Pacifism would only help the radicals. When it comes to Israel, public opinion in Europe walks a fine line. Israel's overreaction and use of overwhelming force, say most, is to be condemned and criticized. But in the same breath, Hezbollah's provocation is likewise reviled and rejected as the militant group's unceasing attacks on Israeli civilians are cited. Both sides are judged using the same criteria and both sides come out stained with some blame for the current conflagration.
But this seemingly nuanced point of view is misleading. In reality, German and European public opinion does take sides -- and it tends to side with the apparent underdog and against Israel.
It has almost become a reflex on the Continent. In 2003, 59 percent of all Europeans pointed to Israel as the country presenting the greatest risk to world peace. On the third day of the current crisis, fully three quarters of all Germans polled were convinced that Israel was overreacting and using too much force in its response to Hezbollah. And since then, the images coming from the war zone have set the tenor: A cease-fire, most believe, should begin as soon as possible.
I disagree -- and have four reasons for doing so.
First, Israel is fighting a just war. Germany and the European Union should unequivocally back Israel.
Islamism has attacked Israel from both the south and the north and Israel has no choice but to react. But there is more to it than that. Israel's military operation is important for the entire Western world. Until 2005, Islamism was able to successfully mislead the West into thinking that the "occupation" of Gaza and southern Lebanon was the cause of the terror attacks carried out against Israel. Now we know better: Islamism isn't out to change Israeli policy in the region, Islamism is out to completely eradicate the country of Israel. The same strategy is being used on a larger scale: The Middle East conflict is not the cause of Tehran's conflict with Western secularism. It is merely a convenient alibi.
Read it all, if you read anything.
It's Israel that puts the world at the most risk. R-I-G-H-T Islamists are like animals when there is a sick one in the bunch. They hound it to death.
Until muslims grow up, get a job, a skill (other than shooting guns and blowing stuff up), and stop being so jealous of the Israelis, and wanting to take over the world, there is always going to be war , confrontations and chaos. Whether with Israel or the rest of the civilized world.
Are those people blind to what's happening in Somalia and Ethiopia? In Europe? Russia? Asia? It's islam. Not the Jews.
l think its more than jealously that the Arab muslims cannot get over with the Jews. Here you have a very small country, l am told Israel is about 2percent of the middle east, it is highly successful country, deserts pervioiusly arid are now producing crops, etc. then you have the neigbhouring countries of arab muslims nations that have sucked the land arid, poverty, violent, no freedoms, and so they look over to Isreal and see success. so in order to blame their failures of the cult islam they need to focus their failures on some other people, and therefore you see their attacks on all things Jewish, and the West.

Muslims know that Israel's existence proofs that Allah is dead. That hurts their pride. It does not matter how they fail, all muslims want is pride and honor.
The beggar wants honor, got it?
Radicals have not attacked Israel. Islamists have not attacked Israel.
You want ists? Then I give you Moslem activists.
What is an ist, anyway?
The two definitions of this much-used suffix that apply to Moslem activists:
ist
suff
3. An adherent or advocate of a specified doctrine, theory, or school of thought: anarchist.
4. One that is characterized by a specified trait or quality: romanticist.
So then, an Islamist is a person who advocates a doctrine hate, war, slavery, and world takeover. An Islamist is a person who advocates the specific traits of hate, warmaking, enslavement, and world takeover.
In other words, an Islamist is a person who is a Moslem, but an active or activist Moslem.
Perhaps things would come into sharper focus if we called them Moslemists.
But what do you call the Moslems who allow them to flourish and operate in their midst?
Re: Why Israel's Reaction is Right
So Israel doesn't suffer this fate....

If Europe can't take Israel's side, why can't they at least stay neutral? Assuming that they are totally paid for by the OIC dawa crowd, why do they assume that they will always have the free flow of oil? If the US, or even Israel want to, they can simply capture all those refineries and take over control from there - what are the Mohammedans going to do? What could the Europeans do, once Saddam was toppled, and they stopped getting those sweetheart oil-for-palace deals?
I am glad to see that NOT ALL of Germany is anti-semitic and anti-life. Not all of Germany has joined the Moslem Death Cult, but I hope this writer can live and not be killed by another Islamic killer.
An interesting article by Fisk:
http://www.counterpunch.org/Fisk07242006.html
And a most telling excerpt about the refugees assaulting their benefactors. More proof that to Muslims generosity is only a sign of weakness and foolishness:
________
The multimillion-dollar Hariri Foundation - created by the former prime minister, Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated last year - has helped 24,000 Shia refugees out of the south and on to Beirut but its generosity has not always been happily received. One group of refugees sheltering in a technical school in Meheniyeh punched and taunted Hariri workers. Elsewhere, the foundation's staff have been cursed by fleeing families. "They are telling us that we are working for the Americans and that this is why we are taking them out," said Ghena Hariri - Rafik's niece and a Georgetown graduate. "It is something that drains our energy. We are working 24 hours a day and at the end of the day they curse us. But I feel so sorry for them. Now they are being told by the Israelis to leave their villages on foot and they have to walk dozens of kilometres in this heat."
What would be the statement of the obvious here is an act of courage over there, in Germany. So be it. After all, for nearly 40 years the Arab and Muslim propaganda has worked steadily to encourage historical amnesia about the first few decades of the Lesser Jihad against Israel, to make everyone forget why the League of Nations Mandates Commission had created the Mandate for Palestine in the first place, and what its express terms contained, and of course, also made sure that in the mass media the real experts on Islam, who were largely of an older generation, replaced by Muslims and non-Muslim collaborators with Muslims in so many academic centers, were seldom or never consulted. This did what Matthias Kuntzel persists in calling "Islamism" but is really nothing more than Islam, with its central duty of Jihad to spread Islam so because "Islam must dominate and is not to be dominated."
Call it "Islamism" for now if you must. In a year, you will be calling it, correctly, "Islam." And in a year, the peoples of the West, and the Christians and Druse of Lebanon, will be ashamed that they were not forthrightly in Israel's camp, as they realize that what is being accomplished now, if not prematurely halted, will be as valuable as the bombing of the Osirak Reactor in 1981 that won universal criticism, not least from the United States, and the effects of which were long-lasting, so long-lasting, we know, that Saddam Hussein did not manage in the 22 years remaining in his regime, to reconstitute the nuclear program.
And that may also be a lesson for those who are moving heaven and earth trying to prevent any move on Iran -- that it "won't work" or it can't possibly "have a long-lasting effect." This kind of thing is argued by the malevolent, who want Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, either because they do not take seriously what the Islamic Republic of Iran almost certainly will do with them, or even more malevolently, they think such acquistion can be used to force, in a joint and most unequeal "nuclear disarmamaent," the Israelis to give up the only thing that guarantees the survival of their state, and the physical survival of every Jewish inhabitant of that state.
Total support should be given to Israel in this endeavor. Out of nothing more than self-interest. The entire Western world, the entire Infidel world rather (yes, in India too, and in southern Nigeria, and in southern Sudan, and in southern Thailand) has a stake in Israel putting a stake through the heart of Hezbollah, and removing those black-balaclaved goosestepping bezonians clutching their Kalashnikovs to the martial sounds of Qur'anic passages, from ever strutting their stuff in the same way again.
I'm seeing hopeful signs that diverse non-Muslim groups are beginning to combine. The Bombay Bombings with the current Israeli conflict may have helped bring a true wake-up call. "Sleepers" are beginning to connect the dots on Islam. In particular, I'm noticing many Jewish Liberals and others coming around.
The non-Muslim strategy must be solidarity against Islam. The general Islamic community must be made to understand what will happen if Muslims continue taking the Koran seriously. Muslims must see the 1 Billion Indians coming together with the 1.2 Billion Roman Catholics coming together with 100's of millions of Chinese Christians coming together with African Christians and Animists coming together with secular Europeans, etc. etc. This can happen. When it starts to happen, imagine the fear that will grip the billion fence sitting Muslims. At least those with children and a somewhat comfortable life. They will have to face the distict possibility that "ALL" the Islamic World will suffer beyond imagination. Muslims will be cut off from the World. It will happen soon
Up until now, those taking Islam seriously have shown appearent success. The constant appeasements, particularly from European "elites" (as an American, I must admit our own Liberal "elites" have done about as much damage), have convinced many Muslims that mohammed's wacko commands are correct. That if they take mohammed seriously they will conquer Europe and others through Jihad, Dawa, etc. The activists can say "look, this may appear violent, but it's working. mohammed was right: boldly kill and terrorize the infidel. It works." Any Muslim group calling for restraint has no ground to stand. The activists can say "acting peaceful has brought us nothing. Look at the gains of Islam since we started terrorizing and cutting throats. mohammed was the man."
The way to destroy the Islamic threat: Stand up and fight TOGETHER (all non-Muslims). Don't give one inch. Take the fight to the bully. When they see this, they will crumble. History has proven this method against bullies. It worked against the Nazis and will work against Islam.
One way to attack Islam is through the truth of Islamic theology. It is such an irrational joke, and has been proven historic garbage. As a Christian, I can only imagine being shown proof that Jesus Christ had not been crucified. Anything claimed in the Bible proven definatively wrong would cause major problems with my faith. In the case of the Bible, it has not been proved definatively wrong. I know there are allegations and questions, but nothing definative. The Koran has been proven definatively wrong. For example, Jesus was crucified. This is absolute historic fact. Non-Christians may not have faith in the resurrection, but the crucifixion happened, period. And yet, Muslims must believe the garbage, gnostic story of Jesus escaping the cross. Muslims must believe Mary was the sister of Moses. They must believe the temple did not exist in Jerusalem. Etc. Etc. Etc. Just absolute historic and logical bunk, yet Muslims must believe every word of this made-up garbage religion. They cannot question a thing.
We can attack Islam through forcing "truth" on Muslims. They will get mad and throw fits and claim we are strengthening their faith. However, the seeds of doubt will be sewn. Deep down, they will know they cannot take Islam seriously. If mohammed couldn't get the known historic facts correct, he is probably wrong about Jihad for "Allah".
Most Muslims are protected from historic truth. Their laws are made to keep them from truth: Kill apostates, kill prosyletizers, kill critics of the Koran, etc. etc. If we can find a way to show the fact that the Koran is garbage. It is proven historic garbage. It is clear that mohammed learned bits and pieces of Gnosticism, Christianity, Judaism, etc. Then the illiterate kept man, camel herding pedophile made up a religion.
Anyway, we are making a difference in bringing together the entire non-Muslim world.
We should also start taking the Theological fight to the Muslims. This is one reason I am so supportive a missionaries. Even if one is not Christian, they must understand the good done by bring Muslims to question mohammed's garbage.
But what do you call the Moslems who allow them to flourish and operate in their midst?
Or the non-Moslem academist Arabist Islamist Moslemists apologists in our midst?
A 2004 Dhimmi Watch article also exposes the disingenuous attitude of Old Yerp towards Israel:
Things aren't much rosier over here, as Sir Ming "Where am I?" Campbell made clear in his demands today that Britain should cease selling weapons and defense technologies to Israel (though no doubt such a measure would be more punishing to us than Israel). The Guardians of moral relativism lapped it up of course...
Jeremy Paxman chimed in on BBC's Newsnight - in a five minute slot supposedly examining the programme's traditional bias on the conflict, and without any hint of irony, Paxman encouraged the suggestion that the moral landscape of Britain's handling of IRA terrorism could be held as analogous to that of Israel's regarding Hezballah. This is a commonly-aired veiw in much of the news media, but one might've expected an analyst of his calibre to challenge such a false comparison, if only on the grounds that the IRA had no desire to 'drive England into the sea', or wipe out the Anglo-Saxon people. Assuming, as was recently noted here, that he's supposed to be an analyst and not just a mere presenter.
I mailed them the obvious question: "Even if the IRA's stance was that God hates the English and wants us exterminated, should we have responded with an equal number of kidnappings and unguided rocket salvos into IRA territories? How about slowly torturing those abductees to death, then attempting to trade their tattered remains for thousands of healthy prisoners, as is typically practised by the "soldiers of Allah"?"
Perhaps there are some issues which are simply too thorny for any MSM commentator to tackle, not least one so hobbled by PC sentimentality as the BBC's Newsnight. Though I'd hope many Britons feel thoroughly disgraced by this rampant moral relativism, one can only imagine the message such dhimmitude sends out to the rest of the world, whether they be our allies, or, more disturbingly, those who are even now plotting their own final solutions to the kafir problem.
When troops of a terrorist sponsored government (Lebanon)cross the borders of another country to kill civilians, kidnap soldiers, and lay mines to kill tanks and tank crews, that is an act of WAR. Israel is responding correctly. I hope they either kill all of Hezbullah's leaders or capture them and try them publicly for war crimes. Israel should go after Iran and Syria also. Those two countries have aided and abetted terrorism for far too long now.
Sic Semper Islamists.
I want to make a comment about France.
I just read this article:
http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/24/news/france.php">http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/24/news/france.php">http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/24/news/france.php
It occurred to me that France is behaving just as it did in the lead-up to WW2. Back then, they kept saying "there's no German problem, no need to worry, we can handle it, pay no attention to them, let's not exaggerate, it'll all be fine"
And of course, they quickly got rolled over like freshly made dough. They then spent the rest of the war whining for someone to rescue them.
Now we see them sucking in the Arab immigrants, standing up for Islam, and loudly telling the world, "no problem, don't worry, stop exaggerating the issue, don't be hardline like the Americans, etc"
You know what's gonna happen to France? The same thing that happened in WW2. They're going to set themselves up for a catastrophe, and then afterwards they'll be wailing for the rest of the West to come bail them out.
Is there something built into the French culture that makes them this way?
Is there something built into the French culture that makes them this way?
some people get circomsized, they get their balls cut off, thats why they are always in a pissy mood.they tie muslims for the least manly men, catagory.
A little OT:

Apologies if this has been mentioned already. The Guardian's new comments threads are just what you'd expect - full of moonbats and Nazis, with one or two class acts laying it straight. If anyone's bored preaching to the converted, most JihadWatchers will have a field day on these forums - most of the readers there don't have a sorry clue.

"to make everyone forget why the League of Nations Mandates Commission had created the Mandate for Palestine in the first place"
But the League of Nations Mandates Commission was an institution presided over by an Imperialistic evil West interfering in the affairs of the Muslim World, so by what right does it carve up the indefilable Dar-al-Islam?
I'm being sarcastic, but unfortunately, the premise of my sarcasm is the text of the Muslim disease, and the subtext of the modern Western disease.

This is what greeted me in large type at www.dell.myway.com news headlines. It's also the lead on Sky News TV. How ironic that only Der Spiegel gets it; the rest of msm worldwide is clueless, reverting to the "body count" style of reporting and jingoism.

Hello Jihad watchers!
I have been traveling a lot lately and couldn't catch up with events.
Just a brief message to Aussies out there:
If anyone of you stops over in the Withsundays, namely in Airlie Beach, make sure you visit the internet cafe's there:
All access to JW/DW as well as LGF is blocked!
So much for freedom of speech in OZ!
I was furious, and told the girls there... But not to worry: I found some sites offering "jihad ammunition and weapons" and "Jihad books and manuals..." etc...
Looks like our bearded "friends" have it all stitched up...
Until 2005, Islamism was able to successfully mislead the West into thinking that the "occupation" of Gaza and southern Lebanon was the cause of the terror attacks carried out against Israel. Now we know better:
Where has this head-in-the-sand guy been? Why is it that the talking heads are like "It wasn't the occupation?". The arabs have not changed. Their goal as always been the eradication of the Jewish people. Arafat's intifada after the Oslo Accords was the clarion call. Israel has always had the right to enter any country that sends in terrorists to kill their citizens. The worst part about this is that western leaders know it too.
