What's this? Al-Qaeda in Britain? Why didn't the Vast Majority of Peaceful, Law-Abiding Muslims in the country do something about this? From the TimesOnline, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
SECURITY sources believe that a man arrested in last week’s anti- terror raids in Britain is Al-Qaeda’s leader in this country.Home Office officials say that one of those arrested is suspected not only of masterminding the foiled plot to bring down up to nine transatlantic airliners, but also of involvement in other planned atrocities over the past few years.
They believe that he was instrumental in sending the ringleader of at least one previous British terror plot for training at a camp in Pakistan last year. He is described by counter-terrorist officials at MI5 as the senior figure in a British terror network involving Kashmiri, north African and Iraqi cells.
Scotland Yard believes that the plan to bring down airliners involved up to 20 terrorists who were planning to smuggle liquid bomb components in hand luggage onto nine British and American passenger jets.
Their targets were planes leaving Heathrow and possibly three other British airports later this month.
He is replaceable. And his followers are endlessly replenishable. And so too are those who support Lashkar-e-Toiba, with first Kashmir, and then all of India, in their Islamic sites. And so, as long as their are Muslims, will the membership of Hamas and Hezbollah, or of Gemaa Islamiya in Egypt, or Jemaaa Islamiya in Indoneisa, or Al Sayyaf in the Philippines, or any number of groups, some of whose names we may happen to know, many of whose names we do not know, and some having no names at all, not being organized groups but merely a handful of individuals, or a single one, bent on violent Jihad -- which, by the way, is hardly the only kind of Jihad, and certainly not the most effective kind, that is being conducted.
Arrest this man, or that. Round up this group of 12 or 24, or 36, or 48. Meanwhile there are millions more, now settled deep behind what they themselves are taught to regard as enemy lines, deep within that is the Bilad al-kufr, the Land of Infidelity, the Lands of the Infidels.
A tiny victory. Almost meaningless. And if Bin Laden and Al-Zawahiri were killed, the pleasure taken by some, and the comfort that "we are winnning this war on terror" would be both idiotic and dangerous. It is not, pace Bush, a "war on terror." It is not a "war on terror" in which "victory" can be achieved.
It is, rather, a permanent condition: the condition is Jihad. The activity of the Western world must be to engage in an anti-Jihad, an effort to protect itself, and to weaken the camp of Islam. This means to prevent Muslims, as much as possible, from settling within Infidel lands, and never made to feel secure that they have established permanent beachheads from which they may conduct Da'wa, unobserved and unhindered, or that they may reproduce to their heart's content, and continue to receive citizenship that must not be conferred on those whose belief-system makes them permanently incapable of offering full and heartfelt loyalty to Infidels, to their nation-states, to their legal and political institutions. The notion that everyone who swears an oath, or who happens to be born on, say, Amercian soil, thereby is entitled to become an American, is a notion that is false, that needs re-examinatioin, in light of this new, hitherto un-understood belief-system of Islam. No denials, no assumption that "we all want the same thing" in the Bush manner, should be permitted to get in the way of the most elementary measures of self-defense and self--protectio. Sentimentaliy is here not merely an aesthetic error, but an ethical one -- because it forces us to endure lives far more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than they need be. It is ridiculous to demand that of ourselves, out of some adherence ot an abstract principle that, in the grimly concrete case, should not and can not apply.
But they told us the London bombers were acting alone?
"Their targets were planes leaving Heathrow and possibly three other British airports later this month."
I wonder if they were thinking of doing it on August 22nd.
What does he do for a living? Or is he living off the taxpayer?
Go Hugh!
How was Hitler exterminated? Did't we have nazis here? How did we deal with them?
What did we learn? How are we using it?
Imagine concentration camps created by Islam in Iran... but wait.. they won't take prisoners..for long. They just execute the infidel.
If I were to have such a guest in my house, he would not be tolerated, and kicked out as soon as he could be. I don't care about due process. USA is my house. Tolerance for Islam has now reached zero in my house.
Hmmm, let's see.... Pakis going to blow up planes over Great Britain and the US, alqueda behind the plot, , = al-queda in Pakistan? Nah! Couldn't possibly be!
Naseem, do you know where your children are?
And again, in India's Kashmir. India needs the death penalty for treason so that they can eradicate this muslim vermin infestation.

Hugh;
All very true, this follower of islam will be replaced. Unless we focus on the faith of islam itself we can not be free ever again, or will be able to move forward without looking over the shoulder for the next leader of death.
The leaders come and go, and islam will need to be sent to the trash heap of history to end this.
The removal of islam is underway.

I heard August 16 was the date. What I find most interesting is the exposure of 20 or so British muslims and the subsequent unanimous 15-0 vote for an Israeli cease fire the following day. Is the jihad global or not?
Hugh, you should send that discourse above to every cable news channel, every pundit and program and especially to the Administration and the Director of HOmeland Security (Chertoff) who just doesn't get it.
I'm listening to these arseholes who put politics before safety, go on and on ranting like Wm Kristol, that pulling out of Iraq is a victory for al Qaida.
How can these bright minds be so stupid, or are they, do they put personalities before principals or are they marching to another drum..other than survival of the west?
Today's 'Sun' newspaper (London), link - www.thesun.co.uk - has an article today in which it reports that £19,000 pounds UK Sterling in notes was found at the address of one of the 22 arrested alleged bomb plot suspects. Apropos of nothing - when a house in nearby Forest Gate was searched where two brothers were arrested a few weeks ago (and subsequently released without terror charges being made) a wad of £38,000 in notes was found hidden as well as £2,000 in notes discovered buried in the ground in the back garden (U.S. = back yard). The mother of the brothers claimed the buried £2,000 was for a family holiday in Mauritius, while the brothers have refused to account for how they acquired £38,000. These are not the sort of sums most British people people have in their houses. As the house below where £19,000 in cash was found was bought recently for £138,000 in cash (approx.$255,000 US) there clearly is a 'Mr Big' about. In the Sun article today, August 13th, 2006, it is reported - these are selected quotes:
Guns at 'terror' house
By JOHN SCOTT
and NEIL SYSON
...There are concerns that donations for last year’s Kashmir earthquake relief fund might have been siphoned off.
Crescent Relief, one of the charities involved in fundraising, was founded by Abdul Rauf, 52 — whose sons Rashid and Tayib are among those arrested on suspicion of links to the alleged plot.
There is no suggestion that Mr Rauf or Crescent Relief are in any way linked to it.
...The flat was purchased last month for £138,000 CASH by a man who lives nearby. He has reportedly been arrested.
Top civil rights lawyer Imran Khan has been called in to advise the families of terror suspects held in East London.
