Indonesian President urges vigilance against terrorism -- and reduces sentences of Bali jihad bombers

Evidently, it's only "terrorism" when it's directed against the Indonesian President. First, there's "Indonesian President urges vigilance against terrorism," from AFP, with thanks to DFS:

JAKARTA - Islamic extremists, led by a fugitive Malaysian, are still planning attacks in Indonesia, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono warned Wednesday.

"In 2006, so far we can be thankful because our country has not suffered any terrorism attacks. But this... should not make us drop our guard and become less vigilant," he said in his annual state-of-the-nation address.

Indonesia has been the target of a series of deadly terror attacks, most recently a triple suicide bombing on Bali which killed 20 bystanders. The worst attack hit the resort island in October 2002 and claimed 202 lives.

The attacks have been blamed on the Al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) network, though some militants -- including Malaysians Azahari Husin and Noordin Mohammad Top -- were believed to have split to form an even more hardline group....

Then there's this: "Men in Bali blast get sentences reduced," from AP, with thanks to Twostellas:

JAKARTA, Indonesia - An Islamic militant convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings was released from prison Thursday and 11 others jailed for minor roles had their sentences reduced to mark Indonesia's independence day, officials said.

It is an Indonesian tradition to cut jail terms on holidays, but the decision was expected to anger countries that lost citizens in the twin nightclub attacks that killed 202 people, many of them foreign tourists.

Family members of some of the victims said they were pained by the news.

Three militants serving time in East Kalimantan's capital of Balikpapan received reductions of four months, paving the way for one, Puryanto, to walk free on Thursday, said Edi, a prison official who uses a single name.

Nine other men imprisoned on Bali island had their sentences cut by four months, said justice ministry official Djoko Bambang Untung.

"This shows that the Indonesians aren't serious about fighting terrorism," said Australian Brian Deegan, who lost his 21-year-old son Josh in the bombings.

Thirty-three people were jailed over the blasts blamed on the al-Qaida-linked militant group Jemaah Islamiyah.

The Bali bombers and Osama bin Laden are heroes
in Indonesia. That's the kind of gratitude we get for helping hese people (tsunami, earthquakes, etc). Lots of Indonesian students are admitted to grad schools in the US where they studies are sponsored by the taxpayers. Americans are the biggest fools in the world.

any wonder why some feel taxes are illegal?

were the officials who reduced the sentences Muslim?

A problem I see arising in America, is where the Muslims flood an area with other Muslims, as in Dearborn Michigan and the twin cities in Minnestoa. They acutally become the majority voting block. They then vote in the judges, public officials and in effect take over the local government. In such positions, Muslims grant leniency towards Muslim offenders and create , amend and put into effect laws that favor their interests. Imagine emminent domain issue where land is condemned to build a mosque.

Once enough Muslims start voting, the state offices could see Muslim victories. Imagine a Muslim governor. A governor is the person responsible for calling out the National Guard in the event of an emergency. A governor works directly with the Federal government in many instances involving National security.

Things could get nasty for the American citizens if Muslims gain control of the laws, courts, and the responsibilty for your security.

You could see this Bali situation repeat itself in America. Just imagine Moussawi being released, or the shoe bomber, or the 1993 bombers and plotters of the trade towers, or any number of terrorists currently in American prisons having their sentences "reduced". And there is nothing you can do about it because the power is in the hands of the Muslims.

There is a war on terror going on and the infiltrators and sabateurs have arrived.

my wife and I were in Bali literally yesterday. Although Indonesia is predominately a Muslim country, Bali is a Hindu island (over 85-90%). We experienced both Hindu resentment against radical Islam (and it's impact on their economy), and pro-Radical Islam support (graffiti images of suicide bombers and support for an Iraq-Iran alliance).
The bombers achieved an objective in crippling the Bali tourist industry, it has been reduced by 90%.
We were told that because of the threat of radical Islam, the natives have embraced and declared their Hindu heritage all the more strongly
Indonesia has a history of reducing sentences for all types of criminal on Independence day (8/17), three of the Bali bombers will be executed shortly.

What the President of Indonesia isn't saying of course is that the Indonesian Armed Forces have been complicit in Islamic global jihad by clandestinely setting up terrorist training camps on Indonesian territory for use by various international Islamic terrorism organizations. This is not unusual for Muslim nations, as we should all know by now. Malaysia and the Philippines also reportedly have had and probably still have extensive terrorism training camps in their territiories.

Al-qaeda operatives arrested in Spain several years back maintained they had received their training IN INDONESIA. The Indonesian government is well aware of this, to be sure. However, Indonesian government officials have no intention of coming out and admitting their complicity with worldwide Islamic terrorism.

It should therefore come as no surprise that the Indonesian government is now coddling these mass murderers which it helped to create. But, it is very unfortunate that the Balinese people, whose congenial company I have enjoyed in the past, are caught right in the middle of this nightmare.
